Holiday with friends!”
This hotel is excellent value for money. My friends were worried that it was 'dry' with no alcohol, but on arrival we were told that new management had got rid of this policy and they were all very happy that they could have a beer! It felt like we had the place to ourselves; the rooms are spacious and the beach is stunning. It would have been nice to have a hot shower... The pizzas are amazing, and they had some good coffee going on, but the breakfast menu could do with a revamp. The staff were great! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

nothing to write home about”
pretty disappointed at this highly praised so-called Beach Retreat. The rooms are clean but really no flair or ambiance in the whole place. I would say it's pretty tacky and lacks any style really. The lighting in the rooms is pretty harsh, for a beach retreat there are no options to do anything. The breakfast is only for Filipinos and does not cater for anyone who is a) staying longer than 1 day in terms of variety and b) anything that is not rice and egg and sausage - not even fruits are on the breakfast menu. When we went there was only one other couple there and we were put right next door to them... the rest of the resort being empty... that makes no sense to me.

Thanks for the effort of writing to us. We provide clean accommodations and, contrary to the writer, good food at a good price. When we evaluate things we usualy throw out the highest and lowest score to cancel bias. I am tempted to do likewise in this case too but for one saving grace, Ralph has a point about why put people close to eachother when there's plenty of space. We should be more circumspect in our actions to make it more pleasant to stay here. But I hope Ralph was compensated by the beautiful surrounding.

A small paradise”
The location is perfect but a little far from everything so get organize as the staff were not so helpful for that (except if you have a moto already). Facilities and good, breakfast is delicious and the private beach is really clean and quiet.... that's great! I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a peaceful place to stay .

Excellent”
The resort is a perfect get away if you like peace and quiet. I love that the resort is small (only 8 rooms), so it's very relaxing without a large crowd and noise. I also love the simple, terraced, airy architecture of the hotel. The rooms are very spacious, clean and thoughtfully designed. There is no TV though and wifi/mobile signal is poor. The beach front is small but exclusive and still pristine, perfect for lounging on the beach. Menu selection is limited but the pizza is good. Over all, i would love to return to this hotel with friends and family.

A Hidden Gem in Anda”
Anda is a quiet and remote place with beautiful beaches and wonderful people. Compared to Alona or other spot in Panglao, Anda is less touristy and more relaxing. The little town is quite spread out, so to get to this place, you either need a driver or have a motorbike rented. Having that said, Anda Cove is a great place to stay in Anda. The rooms are on a cliff with a big balcony overlooking the sea. The interior of the rooms is simple and tasteful with a lot of natural light. The rooms and the ensuite bathroom are spacious and very clean. Staff at this place are very helpful and friendly. The best part about this resort is the beach where you can snorkel and see corals and fishes. At night, they lit up the place with lights on the tree, it looks absolutely romantic. On a clear night, you can lay on the beach and watch the stars(literally millions of them). Also, the breakfast of this place is really good! So, if you are looking for a slower pace holiday with privacy and great ambiance, Anda Cove is the place to be. For me, it was the definitely 3 wonderful nights in Anda Cove.

Mix”
Good – spacious room & clean bathroom, white beach with few sunbeds, friendly staff, good food, quiet and laidback atmosphere, wifi signal at lobby Not so good – rocky shore with algae/moss, no TV (it’s a “retreat”), ants(!) * Anda Cove is a 2-hr travel from Tagbilaran. We received an email from the resort on the check-in instructions and transportation via a "luxury van". We felt shortchanged as a car was sent to pick us up at the airport and it wasn't a comfortable trip. We took this up with the reception staff & luckily the van was available for our travel back to Tagbilaran.

Thank you for the good words and the other ones too. I am glad you’ve liked the food, the staff, the rooms, and the beach. We work hard at keeping up the quality. With the food, we buy the best ingredients we can find and I have to tell you we don’t have and easy job. You forgot to mention our new brick oven where the food is made in front of your eyes and good food it is. No if, ants, or butts about it. As far as ants go we have them aplenty, the whole Philippines have it. We try to keep them at bay with cleanliness and sometimes with chemicals. I must tell you that we changed the whole kitchen furniture just because of ants and bugs. The old wooden pieces, Filipino antiques, attracted them in droves. Our beach is private, halfway sandy, the other half has a coral reef. It is not rocks! It extends well into the sea and makes for beautiful snorkeling even a few meters from the shore. You might want to read a longer version of my response elsewhere.

We stayed here 4 days over xmas. Very relaxed atmosphere in local style decorated. Great location with a private beach. Staff was very friendly, the xmas party for staff and guests was superb. Sunbeds and a massage area by the beach would jave been great.
