Great Experience”

We traveled as a group with 2 young children & we stayed in Andaman Castle for 4 nights in Jan 2019. Andaman Castle was a good choice. The hotel is not perfect, it is not located at the heart of the city, it is tough to get regular transport - auto, taxi, bus, etc., but otherwise the stay was rewarding. Andaman Castle is located on the East coast of the island, the view of the sunrise is a rewarding experience. This is not a commercial hotel, this is more like a home-stay, and so the owner & the staff make sure that there is a personal touch to the otherwise professional relationship. The rooms and especially the washrooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and they took care of our meals. The food is hot and fresh and tastes delicious. The icing on the cake is the owner - he is extremely friendly & an outgoing person. Pros: Good location, Cleanliness, Friendliness of staff, Quality of food. Cons: Away from city, Food sometimes gets late, Wifi is available only in reception.

not worth the money, clean rooms”

its definitely near the sea but to elaborate this further it is near to road running beside sea. you can walk on the side of road but at night this place become secluded. you will not find any auto rikshaw or taxi easily. you have to have phone number of autos or taxis. we went for walk at night but come back quickly because only men were enjoying road side and drinking. this road start from main market and tourist hardly come beyond this point at night because corbyn cove beach is closed at night. positive of this property is: clean and polite staff. negative: we had two rooms and one was big size and other was tiny (smaller than small). bed was very small and when asked for extra blanket we were given one bed sheet. bathroom of one room was very small but everything was clean so manageable. but i had stayed for one night in hotel anchorage and it was for same cost as andaman castle and i would prefer that over andaman castle. during check in no one was in office and we waited for 15-20min to reach aamir. on meeting he didnt even apologize for keeping us waiting. but after that he was always polite and kind. we requested breakfast to be given at 10am but denied. we only had dinner on the day of arrival and it was not good so we never had any lunch or dinner again at andaman castle. we expected much help in planning and more value for money. food reviews were good on trip advisor but belive me i paid same money to other hotels in port blair and andaman castle was worst. breakfast was included in fare and only idli/wada were provided which is not acceptable. we just had one or two pieces each and decided to eat breakfast in other restaurant. overall, i will stay at other hotel in port blair and would have stayed here if given in less than Rs 1000 per night and no meals here at all.

Perfect , calm , home stay in port Blair ”

We stayed three nights in Andaman castle and it was amazing place to be in . 15 min drive from airport , sea facing in a small hill , very clean rooms . Aamir is more frndly , wifi was perfect . Food was awesome . We loved Andaman castle.

Breakfast is very ordinary. In Port Blair, fresh fruits was expected in breakfast table. There was no egg preparations in the breakfast, which was uncomfortable for us.

Value for money, amazing stay”

We stayed there for 4 nights and the host were really warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and apart from stay, they helped us in planning out other itineraries of our self planned trip. Would definitely suggest the place to others. The only problem was it was a bit away from the city life, might be an advantage for people who seek a vacation away from city life. :)

Value for money”

Friendly staff, spacious property, clean rooms. Dianing Hall and sitout space outside the rooms. Good room service. Complimentary wifi, kitchen available, very close to the sea, separated by road. We check-out early morning and our breakfast and water bottles were ready outside the room. About 15-20 minutes drive from airport and Jetty.

Facility is right opposite beach, very nice view. At the same time, little away from central area, so need to plan for extra auto/taxi rides. Rooms have all the necessities including AC, maintained very cleanly. Big plus is, the facility is maintained by family who owns this. Aamir, running the facility is very helpful in arranging auto/taxi, suggesting itineraries, other bookings. Last but not least is, homely and tasty food, that you can enjoy in common dining hall. Wish the rooms & bathrooms are little bigger for families, but manageable.

Couple of toilet roll may improve customer experience. Room requirement at least a table which I saw missing. This place is quite sexlife and far from market area. Difficult to get transport.

Poor Location, Wonderful Owner, Iffy Staff”

This hotel is actually more of a homestay. Each of the rooms surround a communal kitchen and dining room. The rooms were simple but clean. The problem is that it's quite far away from much of anything and if you're traveling without access to transportation, you'll have a bit of problem getting a taxi or a tuk tuk. The owner was wonderful once we met him, but the support staff is not great. We had numerous small issues with them that were frustrating but but were more of cultural differences than anything (difficulty getting on wifi, difficulty booking a car to the airport, difficulty with the electricity). The biggest problem was that the toilet started leaving from the base (so, essentially soiled water). The staff kind of shrugged and apologetically said they'd fix it tomorrow and that there were no other rooms as they were completely booked up. I asked them again to fix it that night, as it was toilet water leaking onto the bathroom floor, and they shrugged yet again and left.

Best Hotel to stay near sea side and have sea view.”

Please extend the Check out Timing to 10 AM so that a person can wake up with good relaxation.

The owner, as well as his staff, are always looking after the guest's comport & requirements. This property is so located to have views of the sea from the room, it's so lovely to watch the sunrise directly from the room..We all love it.

Could have been better”

Lot of noise from on-going construction activity in the hotel. Could not get sleep in the afternoon which was needed after long flight hours from Delhi to port blair. However no other issue in the facility.

Excellent stay at Port Blair”

Its a small property. Little far from the main market area but in a very good calm place. The sea view rooms are not that worth too much but yet you can see a glimpse of sea from balcony. Nice big rooms with very basic amenities. very clean. Staffs are excellent. Five star to all of them. Food is also very good. The breakfast is sad as there is no option except bread omlette or puri bhaji. But its worth of staying as comparing to the room tariff. I stayed here two times during my trip and both the time i am happy.

Its an average place with nice location.Basic facilities are available. Packed breakfast can be better than 4 bread nd jam. Staff are nice and polite and my stay was comfortable as I can adapt to available facilities.
