Quiet relaxing stay”
If you are a beach bum this is your place, located right at the beach, but bit far from other areas, Rent a vehicle if you want to explore other areas. Recommended for a relaxing stay by the beach. The resort beach restaurant needs some improvement though.
Nice beach front hotel with private beach.”
I love this hotel so much. Will come back again. Nice and clean beach with quiet atmosphere for great vacation and relaxation. Big room and nice swimming pool. However, staff performance and taste of food in hotel restaurant should be improved.
a very restful place”
We had an excellent stay in the Andamania. AS it was end of season, we got a free room upgrade. So we got a great room with wide terrace and a jaccuzi in the large bathroom. The breakfast buffet is very good. It is situated about 10 minutes ride to the center town, so if you have your own transport it's great.
Sun Sea and Sand”
Generally speaking the hotel was great for a chill out. Our room was great and the staff were friendly. Some frustrating things involved a lack of English among the staff, the breakfast seemed to be ignored (cold) after a certain point (we were always late arrivals-10 am). BUT, we did not leave the beach once!! The bar/restaurant did very little to compete with the others bars/restaurants on the same beach-so most people seemed to just leave the hotel to walk elsewhere. THOUGH, the food was actually quiet good.
Right on the beach with large clean rooms”
This was our second stay. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable (the cot - "extra bed" - was less so). Wi-fi in the room was adequate although the signal was weak. Breakfast is a buffet with limited options but we found it sufficient (they will make an omelette to order). Overpriced if you must pay for children and all they eat is cereal. The restaurant (and bar) is on the beach. Food is reasonably priced generally adequate. The hotel is on the beach just down from the JW Marriott Khao Lak (same beach). It is quiet. The pool is pleasant although they used a coarse cement on the steps that is rough on the feet and in need of repair. It has a small area suitable for small children (with adult supervision). Town is not very distant and a shuttle service is listed for a small fee (we never used it). Transport to the airport can be arranged and is reasonably priced. We were disappointed with the extra bed (a simple cot) and the breakfast for the kids for the extra charge total matched about 1 night stay (we only stayed two nights). Because of this we are tempted to submit a lower rating. On the other hand, if this had not been the case our rating would be a bit higher.
Lovely resort with smile staff”
I stayed here for 5 days. Love this resort with great staff, big and clean room. The first day, my air conditioner had some problem, it cann't cold. They fix it only for 2 hours. Only some negative is this resort is far from centre and bang niang so I think it's restaurant has rich menu with a wide range of foods for me choosen. But they has only some few food :( and they far so I must use their restaurant. I think they should has free bus to centre or have a rich menu.
We are a family of four (our children are two boys aged 5 and 3 at the time of our stay). The staff were helpful. Internet was free and relatively quick (dependent on the time of day). The room was beautiful and spacious with two large beds and a view of the well-kept garden. The pool was not large but very refreshing and a nice alternative to the beach. The beach was nice and the water ranged from calm to waves adequate in size to body surf (no snorkeling in the area). The restaurant was decent. The hotel was reasonably secluded from others with the nearby area undeveloped. Town was sufficiently near to go out to eat but it required transport. All said, we would definately consider staying here again.
We're delighted to stay in this hotel. The room was in a comfortable sized, clean with great views. We stayed for a night only this time though but surely will come back for more on the next chance. Recommended!!
Nice location, near many very good, decent priced beach restaurants. We got an upgrade from a garden bungalow to a room with jacuzzi. I would definetly recommend the beach bungalows as they are newer (cleaner) and as in the rooms you cant even take a shower as the water pressure is too low (almost no water) and the water temperature switches constantly (shower with our 10months old baby not possible) .
Hotel nice, but way too far away from everything (exept the beach)”
Place very very very quiet, 4km to next 7/11, Big room, big nice balcony, old-fashioned TV ( no flat-screen). Unfortunately no sun umbrellas at the nice pool. Wifi-Internet not working reliable - not even for reading newspaper. Hotel has restaurant ON the beach. Outside of hotel the next restaurants about 500m on dark road, not suitable at night time. Standard breakfast. Staff very friendly and taking care of customer.
Great room, hotel right on beachfront”
Excellent room, with great furnishings and bathroom. The hotel is right on the beachfront and there are generally plenty of sun chairs to lounge on. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of choices, and the staff at the restaurant were very friendly. Be careful to keep your doors shut though as there are a few insects around - although the room we had was next to the pond. All in all, would recommend as a good value for money option.
Great place to enjoy the beach”
Top Western style beach resort in the quiet part of Khao Lak. The beach is endless, the restaurant is good, but there are also some thai places to eat on the beach nearby.
Nice hotel a little remote ”
Helpful on reception
This resort is out of the way which was what we wanted as we had a rental car. The rate was good for the time of year. Two aspects that were of concern was that there were repeat power outages. Granted the outage wasn't the fault of the resort but the back-up diesel generator house was very noisy (no sound insulation) and right next to our room. The outage went on for several hours and then again for a second time. Request to move room were denied sating they were "fully bookec" but we saw many empty rooms. The other aspect is that this resort employs many Burmese to keep costs down. This has implications in communicating as the expectation is that Thai resorts would be staffed by Thai speaking nationals.
Secluded, sleepy little place”
It's hard to describe this place. If you want to get away from it all and have a private beach and access to some nice beach restaurants and sweet people, this is your place. It's also quite secluded and walkability factor isn't good. If you have your own transportation, it might be easier. The staff were sweet and nice, but subdued. This area has suffered a lot since the tsunami. There isn't much to do around the hotel, but again, that could be a good thing. I stayed here for diving and the companies in Khao Lak were very unprofessional, so I left early for Phuket. If I had to do it all over again, I would stay near Phuket and dive with PADI 5 star centers in the bigger areas.
Peaceful and beautiful escape”
We booked just two days in Khao Lak, travelled up from Phuket by scooter and were pleasantly surprised by the lush gardens that took us to our private bungalow. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, and spacious. The location was remote so had to travel a bit to explore but all we needed was at the hotel. Peaceful and natural beachfront with clean waters to enjoy. Big compliments to the guys at the bar for their service and dj skills. Food on the beach was delicious with a good choice. Would recommend this place just watch out for the mosquitos :)
Decent hotel with private beach”
We stayed in Bungalow which was nice and privacy. Beach is really fantastic, beautiful sea water and clear sky, you can relax and lay down on the chair all day long. Anyway, lot of mosquitoes at the night and very weak wifi signal in our room
Nice location and peaceful beach”
The hotel has very beautiful garden and peaceful beach. The staffs were nice and friendly even though some of them has poor English.:)The room was big enough but seems too old.One negative was the hotel is far from the street, and there was no any store or restaurant we can find outside the hotel.
If you want a nice quiet short stay, try here. ”
This was the first hotel we stayed at on this trip to Thailand. It's located on the beach with nothing much around it which is what we were looking for. The staff were friendly and also had arranged our transfer from the airport. Our room was high quality, clean and spacious although we did have to complain about stains on the bed sheets. These were changed however for perfectly stain free sheets. The pool was nice but set a little way back from the sea. Most people sunbathed on the beach so we generally had the pool to ourselves. The bar and restaurant were together on the beach and the food was excellent. Breakfast was good too and the omelettes were some of the best I've eaten. If I had to pick a negative, the bar and restaurant furnature is all made from bamboo and with no cushions, you ended up with a sore bum at the end of the night. We saw one couple bring their beach towel down to sit on. We stayed for 5 nights which is about as long as I would have wanted to, only because with limited stuff to do (again, what we wanted) it was good to move to a different hotel. I would recommend this to a couple who just want to relax and eat good food in a stunning place.
A resort by the beach to relax.”
We stayed only one night and left very early in the morning. That was really not enough, we should have stayed for at least two nights. It was a perfect place to relax and be quiet. The bar/restaurant was right by the beach, it was a romantic place for couples.
