Poor service and con from hotel staff
I was told the hotel comes with breakfast then later said otherwise. They charge us full rates for our breakfast minus from our deposits. I felt it's a con from the hotel staff. Bad Experience!

Clean and comfortable
Clean, value for money, relaxing
Clean and comfortable, they will also take care of your things if you want to leave it at the lobby. Approachable staffs, although they can only speak limited english. At a cheap rate, the room was very clean and worth the money.

Better than average hotel
Location, walking distance to Bund and most other locations
The room in this hotel was better than average in cleanliness, and decor. The bathroom was immaculate. The hotel is about three blocks from a park that runs along the river and connects with the Bund. No restuarant in the hotel, but just half a block away is a nice Chinese seafood place. As everywhere in China, it does take some effort on communications with the desk staff--a cell phone app for translation is a god-send if traveling solo and no command of Mandarin!

good location
It's pretty noisy at night, we constantly heard the cars. There was a smell of cigarette in the room as well. Breakfast wasn't included, i don't think it should be rated as a 4-star hotel.

Good location, decent room but bad customer servic
location, value for money
The Andersen Culture Hotel was situated just 5mins from my event venue so it was a great choice. The room was big, clean and decent given the pricing. There was eating places near by and the MRT station was just a 10 mins walk away. However the counter staff left me with a very very bad impression. Checking in was horrible. Had to endure the hostile stares and unfriendly service. Even though i speak chinese, the staff were unable to understand due to the difference in accent. After checkout i kindly asked the counter if they could call for a cab for me and the staff just coldly pointed go get one yourself at the mainroad. Though the location is good, price is cheap but I WILL NOT COME BACK ever again. The customer service was the worse i had encountered so far in my many years and various countries of travel.
