Great hostel! ”
So great for the price. The included breakfast is awesome: toast with jam and butter, eggs prepared any style, and banana and porridge in addition. The place was very clean and in a great location near many of the trekking organizations and good restaurants. The staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Kathmandu.
Hotel situated very quiet environment but in the Thamel area. Easy wait to Ratna park to get bus to anywhere in Nepal. Manager always actively find one way or another to help you. Very nice.
Felt even better than being at home”
My partner and I spent 6 days in total. The location, rooms, staff and breakfast are great. Also, the owner of the Hotel helped us to organize our trip to Everest Base Camp. He booked the flies for us and gave us plenty of advises.
Great value for money and super friendly staff!”
Spent 6 nights here and felt really welcome. "Good morning, bro" with a really good breakfast every day. Good location in Thamel, yet not on a busy street and really good value for money. Bathrooms relatively basic, but absolutely fine! I'd stay again!
my girlfriend got bitten by bedbugs at this hotel and has had bite marks for the last week. I saw the big and killed it but still was a bad experience. the location is OK but I can't recommend based on what happened.
Very good, Just don't eat the fried eggs”
The staff is very nice and helpful. The beds are soft and the shower is great, good waterpressure and warm water. The only downside for me were the fried eggs, they gave me diarrhea because they weren't fully fried. But the omelet and scrambled eggs were fine, so just don't order the fried eggs :)
Lovely Times at Andes”
Depak, Babu and their staff are quite lovely. We meant to stay for only a couple nights and then move around to other places in the city but we ended up staying a week. Every night we had a hot shower and slept in a comfy bed. In the mornings we ate a good breakfast and Depak always greeted us with a grand smile. Depak has been a trekking guide for many years and can help you with whatever you need. Good vibes all around!
The hotel is located near the center of Thamel, on a smaller street which filters off the worst noise. The breakfast is good and served in their little lovely garden. Rooms are basic, clean and affordable and the bed is good! The staff is really nice and recommended a trekking guide for us, who we trekked with and had an awesome time. Ask for Puspa :)
Best place to stay in Kathmandu Valley”
We couldn't have enjoyed our time in Nepal anymore and it had a lot to do with Andes House, especially the staff. They were very friendly and helpful doing everything from arranging drivers so we could travel around, leading us to restaurants where we could find specific Nepalese food for cheap and even just having friendly conversation on the patio helping us learn more about Nepalese people and culture. This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Kathmandu.
Nice stay right in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu”
Really nice stay and excellent services from Dipak the hotel owner. From van transfer from airport to hotel to laundry, tour guides and anything and everything, Dipak is the man to refer to. Enjoyed our stay there!
First night..bad impression”
We arrived at the airport and couldn't find the transport that was supposed to pick us up. They did not turn up even though i have reminded through email just before we board the plane (5hours earlier) and they said yes. We were forced to make calls and waited for another hour before they arrived and the person picking us up was Deepak said 'this is Asia'...he didn't even apologized. Once we reached the hotel, he was helpful to get us to go get dinner but since he was the one getting us late from the airport, thus the shops were already closed. After that, he asked us about our plans to ABC and was pushy to get us to take him as the guide including transportation to Nayapul/Pokhara by scaring us to see the news about local bus accidents. (We already made our research, and quite frankly it was a good experience taking the night local bus). We only met Babu the next day and he was as in the reviews...good. Sorry to say but we wouldn't want to stay there in future as long as Deepak is around. We ignored Deepak for the other 2 nights on 21-23 December 2016.
The 2 nights were good. The location allowed us to do more shoppings while able to get halal food within 2 minutes of this guest house. The owner, Babu was as expected from other reviews i read before making this booking. He is friendly, fatherly, accommodating and also 'lebih kurang' when it comes to payment. We enjoyed the front lawn while killing time to go to the airport after checking out at noon (our flight were at 9.25pm).Thank you Mr Babu for the hospitality.
The owner of Andres House is very friendly and helpful. The location is good but make sure to check before you go about construction nearby. The noise from the construction site next door was very loud all day, beginning just after 7:00 am. The dogs are also very loud (hysterical barking and yelping) around 3:00 am, and the music from a local nightclub lasts until about midnight. The owner is good about arranging local tours and treks and is very knowledgeable. The water pressure in the rooms is barely a trickle, but the beds are comfortable. The power and internet went out several times every day for extended periods, but I think that was a city thing rather than a hotel thing. Overall, a good value for the money, but don't expect a 3 or 4 star hotel. A good place to stay if you are exploring most of the day, but probably not the best if you want to remain on site some of the time and rest.
Definitely returning to Andes”
Friendliest staff and very helpful; clean rooms with comfy beds. Had room that accommodated 3 of us which was great. Wifi worked well. Even when power went in and out they still had a generator to run lights in the room and hot showers at all times. Breakfast was very basic but got the job done. Finding hotel is tough, especially at night due to the alley way being in shambles. Look for signs on the alley way and ask locals for help.
Great staff makes you feel at home”
Friendly staff, great comfy bed. Included breakfast is nice. A bit difficult to find because of some construction work, but if you have a map ready, it can help.
Trato perfecto y relación precio alojamiento muy bueno”
Oase in Thamel ”
