i stayed at angleterre for the full 12 nights while in berlin. i was given exactly what i was expecting, clean room (smoking) which allowed me a check in time at 3pm which was okay. decent windows in the room for good ventilation. the television has all the free/cable channels when i felt bored. housekeeping is efficient and supplies replenished every day. the only thing that bothered me at certain times, was the slight odour emitting from the bathroom, not so much a big deal as shutting the door kept it in (i guess to get it fixed, the room will have to be vacated for major plumbing works and it was bearable and i was only in the room in the evenings, so no big complains about it)- the best thing i like of the hotel is, its just opposite or adjacent to coffee shops for breakfast, lunch & dinners for very affordable prices. convenience shops are just adjacent for train tickets, also a 2nd-hand shop nearby for more affordable materials i.e garments/books etc.

My wife and I stayed at angleterre hotel for three days at berlin. For the location, it is close by check point charlie but yet it is quiet and peaceful at night. For the room and facilities, I think it is well equipped with big plasma tv, fringe, reading desk. The room is looking into the courtyard at the centre rather than the street, I think it is quite well designed. For the service, the staffs are helpful, polite and speak fluent english. I was particularly impressed by the manner of the staff, there was a incident that a staff working at kitchen of the bar saw us back to the hotel late at night and greet us gently. We felt much welcomed and served.

We were in Berlin for one night and made a last minute reservation at the Angleterre. It was a bit more than we usually spend, but we wanted to get beds for the children and not be in separate rooms. The room was beautiful, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was great. I wish we would have asked for more pillows before bed because they are quite soft. I am sure they would have brought some if we requested it. Also it was a bummer that one of the children's bed mattress was very thin and he did not sleep well because he could feel the frame through the mattress. So if you are getting a bed for a child check the mattress thickness. The breakfast buffet was well laid out. The location was great for just heading out the door to see some of the main sites. The metro is very close. Overall a very nice evening in Berlin!

Very nice Hotel, Awesome Breakfast and Gym!”
This was my first time staying at Angleterre. I very much enjoyed the gym. You find not only the usual suspects (treadmill) but also a nice rack of dumbbells and a lifting rack with heavier weights for dead lifts, bench presses and squats! The sauna costs an additional 7.50 EUR per stay and is ok. I seen better but still very good value for money. The breakfast buffet is very nice with tons of different things to choose from. The room was ok. The bath could have been a little roomier and with a door for the shower not just a curtain. But this is just nit-picking! I will definitely come back when staying in Berlin!

All-round great hotel”
Location was wonderful, just right off Checkpoint Charlie! Food options in the area were fantastic and cheap as it was somewhere between Mitte and Kreuzberg. Proximity to U-Bahn and buses made it easy to travel to other parts of Berlin. The hotel itself was very clean and very comfortable. However, the jacuzzi which we wanted to book was not functioning during our stay.

Perfect clean and silent room with perfect breakfast”
The hotel is situated in the very north part of Kreutzberg on Freidrichstrasse, A very, very long street with A lot of fashion shops and not so charming but its close to more interesting parts of Kreutzberg. The rooms are nice and clean and comfortable beds. And five stars for the breakfast. And by the way going by U-ban or bus you can get to any part of Berlin really quick. The public transportation infrastructure in Berlin is so awesome, absolutely no reason to take taxi, thats waste of money and time. Buy A 3-days card for 36 Euro and travel as much as you want...

Extremely Happy with my Stay at the Hotel”
Situated about a 5min walk from CheckPoint Charlie Station (10-15min by subway to Berlin Central) very good Hotel with food nearby. Situated across the road from a police station so you know its going to be safe. Room was big. Bathroom was extremely nice and had facilities for people who have a disability. the furniture in the room may seem a bit old but overall that didn't bother me. Only downside is that the rooms are a bit everywhere so when you leave the elevator your room could be situated on a stairway up or down from it. It's probably due to the original design of the building used for a different purpose to a hotel today. Staff was friendly and helpful at reception! Overall Extremely happy with my stay and if given the chance will stay again!

Fun and modern hotel in a great location”
The Angleterre is a true Berlin hotel as it combines a classic location in the heart of former East Berlin with all the modern ammenities one craves. Free wifi was a great feature and the staff spoke excellent English plus didn't mind answering any questions I had. Would definitely stay here again.

the staff were exceptional and very helpful. the rooms were large, clean, newly renovated and quiet with a large bathroom. breakfast buffet had a great selection of regular breakfast fair and plenty of healthier options. the location is a short walk to grocery store, pharmacy, checkpoint charlie museum, ubahn (subway) station, even a starbucks! a lot of business people select this hotel - this is a good sign to us. staff helped me arrange last minute reservations for the reichstag's cupola (usually 2 weeks in advance). this was a huge bonus for our visit to berlin.

This is an excellent hotel. I got there after a long, difficult flight and this hotel was like a gift from heaven. The room was generously sized, with a new bathroom, the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is walking distance from the main attractions in Berlin. Don't think twice about this one. Just book it!

4 * atmosphere in Berlin”
Very nice Hotel a few steps away from Check-point Charly in Berlin. Build in the late 19th century it is fully renovated and offers large rooms with respect to modern needs. Only minus point is the extraordinary expensive garage (21 euros pro night!!) the availability of which was not confirmed despite more than two special requests.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights in Berlin, all was just perfect. Hotel is 50 m to U-bahn station, so you can get everywhere easily, e.g. I got to Tegel airport in 36 minutes. Famous touristic places are also in walking distance. Room was clean and spacious

This a hotel with an old frontage but very modern interior. The hotel was good value and positioned just three stops from the centre of Berlin. Fairly quiet area, but close to Check point Charlie. Would use the hotel again. Overall, 4.8/5.

Nice hotel”
Quite spacious room, tub (not just shower). very clean, nice floor carpeting in the room, everything is in good conditions (not dated - at least on 7th floor), attentive staff, even the building is kinda impressive, just nice to see that you live here :) I stayed in Berlin at least 10 times, always in different places, and this is just second or third place that I would consider to stay again.

Great location!! Only one block from Check point Charlie and the train. Lots of souvenirs shops and restaurants. And 15min walk to Berlin Mall which is a big shopping centre with more than 300 shops. Hotel look like it was a very luxurious hotel but now days it’s a bit run down but very clean.

Loved the breakfast in the hotel. Really amazing staff that speaks perfect English. Really nice and warm people that welcomed us to the hotel. Every staff member were great. Two things that needs improving no one is the first step just before the lift is a slight bit dangerous. Yes there is hazardous yellow lines on it but it’s as if you don’t expect the step once the sliding door opens. The other is the WiFi is a slight bit slow but works fine. The location alone is amazing and I would go back to this hotel. The rooms are so clean and and fresh every day. And the price is very reasonable. Thank you for an amazing experience my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Nice hotel near checkpoint charlie”
From 23 rd - 26th of july we stayed in this hotel for a city trip in Berlin. Staff is friendly and helpful. What is really good about this hotel is that we could stay in one room with the 4 of us (2 adults en 2 children, 8 and 12). The style of the hotel is classic. The breakfast was included and was ok (not great), there should be more variation. For 360 euro 3 nights it's a good hotel.
