Nice hotel
I'd stayed at Anh hotel for duration of 1 week, nice and clean hotel and extremely polite staff. Would highly recommend for budget travelers. Not that far from Hoan Kiem lake and Old Quarter, around 30,000 by cab or you can even walk.

Good price for 3-star
This is a 3-star quality hotel at a price closer to what you'd expect for a 2-star. Pros: - Spacious room with good light and decent ventilation. I had the "deluxe" type room. Other types may be smaller. - Located on a small, quiet street outside the tourist zone, but walking distance to West Lake and Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. - Clean. - Has a desk and several chairs. Cons: - No butt-washer on the toilet! This must be a special room reserved for foreigners, Vietnamese people would not tolerate this. I can deal with TP obviously; but after a few months in Asia, I really prefer having a bum-gun instead. This is actually a deal breaker for me, so I do not think I will go back to this hotel. - The "double bed" was actually two twin beds sitting together. Not very comfortable

Bad service
We booked one superior room for 3 people because we checked on its website that this room can be available for 3 people with an extra bed. We received the phone from the hotel staff and we confirmed that we have 3 people and an extra bed is required. However, when we came to the hotel, the receptionist said he received no information about the number of people and this superior room they arranged for us is small so no extra bed availablle and there is no room left. It was 8:00PM and we do not want to find another hotel at this moment. We only stayed 1 night so we agreed. We were then really disappointed because there was a problem with the air conditioner (we cannot use the remote control to reduce the temperature) and no wifi is available. The service is bad but we still had to pay an extra of 5USD because we have 3 people. The staff is not really friendly and the service need to be much improved.

For the money...
The rooms were big and the beds too. For the price I'm not sure you could do better. We paid about $15/night. Stayed in a few others that were a little more and not as good. Don't expect the Hilton and you'll be very happy.

Unhelpful staff
The people at reception barely speak English, so it was tough to communicate with them about storing luggage, questions about airport transfer. Very very frustrating experience. I met people who stayed at much cheaper hotels, which were cleaner, had better facilities and more helpful staff. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone . it's a norm for hotels in Hanoi to let customers shower between their Halong Bay and Sapa tours, even if they don't have an active room booking on that day. This hotel didn't let me. Everything about the experience was bad. I wouldn't pay this much just for clean rooms, especially when other important services are d so difficult to avail.
