A convenient and friendly stopover”

We were impressed by the courtesy, efficiency and sense of acceptance at the Anker apartments when we visited with a disabled friend. The location was excellent for access to the motorway, the airport and the city centre. The facilities were spotless and basic, with a supermarket and a car park adjoining the centre - all that we needed. If we have a chance to visit Oslo again, we would hope to stay at Anker. Strongly recommended.

A convenient and clean hostel”

You can reach Anker Apartment from Oslo central station by tram and bus. The room from one person is quite huge. There is a supermarket named Joker right beside it. The staff is very friendly too.

Nice place to explore Oslo”

Size of the room, Friendly staff, Close to nice street with places "to go out".

The stay was fine. I booked a apartment, which basically meant I got a nice big room with my own little kitchen + refrigerator. The building is quite new so the everything looks very nice. The only comment I have is the fact you need to go to reception to get a box with "cooking stuff" for a deposit. The room itself contains no cutlery, or pots and pans. According to the staff they used to have "kitchen stuff" in the room, but this got taken away (aka stolen). Maybe an idea to give you a kitchen box (for a deposit) when checking in and let you have it for the whole stay. It's quite nice there is a convenience store attached to the building. This way it's quite easy to get something (if you forgot to get it a the big supermarket). Note, if you want to eat something that requires the use of an oven (aka pizza) just ask the staff if you may use the central kitchen (the one that's used for the dorm rooms). They will happily program your card so you can access it on the 2nd floor. All in all I had a good stay at Anker apartment. The room was spacious, the kitchen sufficient and the bathroom had a good shower. I would stay here again.

Cheap solution in extremely expensive Norway”

Price Cleanliness Availability

I had made a mistake with a previous reservation and i had to find a room 2 days before arriving to Oslo. The only cheap available place was Anker. I had never stayed in a hostel before and i was uncomfortable with the idea. Overall it was fine. You have to pay for bed sheet and towel once, 50+20 NOK. There is free wifi. It takes a considerable walk to arrive to the center. The place felt safe, i had no issues. Tip:Buy water at Kiwi Mini Pris, you can find 1.5lt for 11 Nok. There is also another small mini pris shop behind Anker which is open on weekends also, for similar price water.

Satisfied with stay at Anker Apartments ”

Convenient location,friendly staff,comfortable

Anker Apartment is relatively near to the central of Olso but location of Anker hostel & hotel is even better. Pots,Pans, boliers, etc all need to be borrow out for 3hrs only and not available in the room, which defeat the purpose for paying more for an apartment as I need to run down to get the stuff and rush to pack and return. It is a good stay at the apartment and the staff are super friendly and helpful to us. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Quite nice”

Location is a bit far away from the city centre, you need to walk 30 mins to get there. Staff are nice. The hostel is new, facilities are also new, which is totally different from the Anker Hostel (the lobby was smelly in Anker Hostel) Notice that the sensor inside the bathroom is poor, the lighting automatically switched off when I am inside the bathing area for too long (maybe). Overall it is good, I would visit again if I go to Oslo again.

It's different from Anker hostel & hotel”

Don't be confused with other Anker hostel & hotel which are located at storgata gate as they're closed to the city. This spacious accommodation is farther extra mile to walk. The staff are helpful & friendly. Generally clean & organised. Prepare to pay for the towel & put on/ remove your beddings.

Anker Apartment”

Location. Free luggage storage. Convenience store inside reception.

The location is excellent, being in Grunerlokka, you can walk to central in 25 minutes. Trams/buses are a 5 minute walk away. Grunerlokka as a neighbourhood is full of bars, cafes, parks, restaurants and shops. The dorm was pleasant, the bed was comfortable and for a 20 bed dorm, it was quite spacious. The bathrooms were not clean at all...I used the shower twice in my 1 night stay, first when I arrived after a long 12 hour flight, and then again in the morning before check out, they were grim, full of hair, mud and generally unclean. I didn't see a cleaner the entire time I was there. Overall, for one night it is worth the £20 as there is not much choice at all in Oslo! Any longer, I wouldn't stay.

A few blocks away from restaurants and shopping. Bus and train stops are close by. Very quiet hostel. It can be busy and loud in the early evening , but is very quiet late at night. I plan to stay here again on future trips to Oslo.

Visiting friends in town”

In a fairly good location to get to and from the city centre, Karl Johans Gate, you can walk there in 30 mins, or hop on the excellent public transport that is only a 5 min walk away from the block. A pretty up and coming area, so I am told, it's not far to walk to some cafés that wouldn't look out of place in Shoreditch, London. The appartment itself was clean and spacious, with a en suite shower/bathroom cubicle, and a galley style kitchen. There was a small but well stocked convenience store in the foyer. The cleaners appeared to be around every day and I had to remember to put out the door sign to ask not to disturb me (I just didn't want my room cleaned). Everyone was helpful and friendly. But bear in mind that this is accommodation for students and while it is better than I expected for students they are loud coming in out, but surprisingly quiet other than that. I'd definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you are budget conscious, but don't want a dormitory type room.

Good”

Compairing prices of norwegian standards, cheap place. Good location. The place itself looks like a hospital. Staff was really great though! One huge minus, you have to pay for linens, and you can not use a sleeping bag, otherwise you get a fine. Wich is redicilous because when you check in they ask if you want to rent linens, but still sleeping bag is forbidden! I don't see the logic here....

Booked the night before the stay, but the price is still cheap (paid 167kr). The dormitory was not crowded when I stayed last Dec.18, 2016. I appreciated that the beds are quite far apart, the toilets are clean, and there's an access to the kitchen. Recommendable for solo travelers.

Prison Like”

You walk up to the building and it seems like it is okay. You walk into the lobby and it is wide open, plenty of space fo everyone, it feels nice. The girl at the check-in desk was very warm and friendly. All good, so far... but when I got into my room, I didn't realise that I had booked a 20-bed room. It was just rows of beds, back to back to back. It was like a prison. And for the price that I paid? I was very disappointed. The bathrooms were quite neglected; there was vomit all over the toilets from crazy drunk/hungover people who were day drinking in the rooms. But I will say, the beds, at least to me, were quite comfy and I slept well. pay a few extra dollars to get a room with only 8 beds or even better, get a room to yourself as the prices are not that bad (though for me, at the time, I was on a REALLY tight budget). My experience might've been better if I was able to afford a better room.

Quality hostel”

Clean, good value, good kitchen

Oslo is a very expensive city, so taking that into account this place is good value. The rooms are clean although quite a lot of beds in the dorms means you will probably have disturbances to your sleep. The kitchen is quality and allows you to cook what you might need. All in all we were happy with out stay.
