Lovely Hotel right in the center”
Very nice hotel (what one might call a gem). Rooms are clean and well equipped. Grounds are clean and the swimming pool a very nice place to relax. Within walking distance to many restaurants, super markets and the night market (which is not worth spending much time at). Read on other reviews that staff lacks friendliness and have to confirm that. Most of them don't smile or seem particularly welcoming or friendly. I believe this might be due to their fear of having to use their limited English. The French speaking manager is friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Vientiane.

    Very good”
Nicely laid-out hotel comprising 4 buildings around the pool. Considering how close to the main drag it is, it's surprisingly quiet and peaceful. My "Savvy Double" room overlooking the pool was spacious with a huge bed, but starting to show signs of age with ware and tear. I found staff a bit dour (no smiles) and breakfast was particularly solemn, in a silent room. A bit of music to lift the ambience wouldn't hurt. Perhaps they were nervous of their poor English but I would've been happy to speak French if it helped. Breakfast options for non-meat eaters were very limited.

    Great hotel!”
This is a cute hotel in a convenient location! Easy to walk to the river and sites. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The one thing that needs improving is the wifi. I was in room 16 and the wifi was super spotty. It was spotty at the restaurant terrace, too. I had to hang out in the lobby to get a usable signal. I informed the front desk that they need to fix the router but nothing was done. Because of the poor wifi I’m giving 4 stars for the facilities.

    Clean & Convenient”
convenient location, easy to walk to some temples and riverfront nearby. Room is clean and facing the swimming pool. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast has limited choice but keeps a good standard. The girl at the breakfast place has beautiful smile, it was happy to see her to start off the day. One suggestion is to provide proper chopsticks in the restaurant, currently they only provide disposable chopsticks, which feels cheap and hard to use.

A calm, luxuous and very beautiful place in the center of Vientiane.”
We booked the Impeng suite for one night. A wonderful place for Valentine’s Day. Big suite with very beautiful Lao style decoration. You get complimentary drinks and nuts from the minibar and my wife also got a handmade silk scarf. Two balconies to enjoy the romantic view on the inner garden with a champaign glass. We took champaign with us, but Proseco is available in the room. The garden in an inner courtyard is a haven of peace in the center of Vientiane. The hotel is perfectly located close the big fountain and the surrounding life. We also benefited from a parking spot, which has a high value in Vientiane these days. The one difficulty is to leave the place to continue the trip.

    Great Location”
    Location, location, location
The location is prime, because it's near the river and its attractions, but it's quiet. That's a key factor in Vientiane, because many of the hotels near the riverfront are really loud. The restaurant is nice, although the staff sometimes is a little less than attentive to detail. For example, they forgot parts of my set menu. The room is standard, comfortable, although internet is spotty (to be fair, this is common in the hotels in Laos). The staff tried to once get me to check out of my room early (10:30, although check out time is noon). I suspect that they needed to give my room to someone else!

    Excellent Hotel”
    Room, Pool, Bathroom
I fell in love with this hotel immediately after arriving at the hotel. There are so many good things about it. Firstly, the reception building is so classy and resembles an old colonial building. Reception area is also beautifully decorated and gives guests a very good first impression. The room is also very beautiful and nicely decorated with a nice balcony overlooking the pool and the nice colonial reception building. Room size is also spacious and bathroom is very stylishly designed. What's more, they provide a laptop with free internet access for every room and also complementary mini bar. Cleanliness of the room is spotless. Everything looks new even though this hotel has been build since 2009. The hotel also has a nice pool and a very beautiful garden around the pool area. Restaurant for breakfast is also very nicely decorated and is located in the colonial reception building on the second floor. I greatly appreciate the hotel putting a sign along Quai Fa Ngum road that indicates the street to turn to that leads to the hotel. This really makes finding the hotel much easier for me as i am driving a rented car to the hotel. This sign boarding really helps people as there are many street cutting across Quai Fa Ngum Road and Setthathirath road. So, in order to find the hotel, the easiest way is to walk/drive down Quai Fa Ngum (the road next to the mekong river) and look out for a sign with the word " Ansara hotel" and follow it and turn into the street. Next, you will see another "Ansara Hotel" sign. Follow this sign and you will be at the hotel. I have really no bad things to say about this hotel but i hope that they can provide free airport shuttle as it currently cost USD 15 for (airport - hotel) and USD10 for (hotel-airport) service. Overall, i am very satisfied with what i paid for. Ansara Hotel will definitely be my first choice if i return to Vientiane again.

Nice quiet location, Large room and great staff.
We were very happy with our stay at the Ansara Hotel. a few minute walk to the Mekong and the boulevard along the Mekong, which is where the Night Market is set up. Very close to other restaurants, didn't eat at the hotel (other than breakfast) so can't comment on the restaurant on the main floor but it looked very nice. The staff were very helpful, room was large and comfortable bed, what more could you ask for?

    Nice, peaceful stay”
Good location, quiet surroundings, friendly staff.
We had a very nice stay at the Ansara. The main building is a beautiful colonial style structure, whereas the hotel rooms are situated in very quiet surroundings amidst nice gardens. The rooms are nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. They were very helpful with pointing out destinations on a map. The buffet breakfast was fine with good European-style bread. We did not try to French restaurant at the hotel, so it certainly looked stylish and rather unique for Vientiane. The hotel's location is excellent as it is just a few minutes' walk from the Mekong River with easy access to all major tourist attractions and hotels. And walking around Vientiane is extremely easy. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The only thing preventing it from being perfect is that we were charged for two (very fragile) wine glasses that we broke while trying to move the kettle in our room. While I have no problem paying for something that was obviously our fault, I do feel it would have been a nice gesture if the hotel had considered it something that "comes with the territory" and not charged us. Especially since we spent $100+ on a bottle of champagne in the room. I don't believe I have been charged for accidentally breaking a glass in a hotel room before.

Great staff and very nice clean hotel in a great location in the centre of vientiane.
I spent a great two nights at the Ansara hotel. The staff were very nice and friendly and the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy. It's in a great location as everything is on your doorstep. Also had very good massage in the spa but lots more cheaper options around if you want to save a little cash.

The best boutique hotel in Vientiane”
Charming rooms and garden, central location
This is our second stay at the Ansara. For the cost of the room, you really do get the best "high end" boutique hotel value in Vientiane. The basic double rooms are not big but entirely adequate for a short stay, with a balcony out front for early morning or late evening relaxation. All the rooms overlook a charming garden, although there is no pool. Breakfast is terrific, and the service is attentive if at times a bit erratic due to lack of high capacity in English. But otherwise, this really is the best place to stay in town if you want some relaxation and can splurge a bit. There is not that much to do in Vientiane, so it is nice to have a nice room to retreat to, and the hotel is very near to all the shops and waterfront walk.
