The most beautiful view!”
The view every meal from the lounge/dining hall is absolutely stunning and variable--overlooking the rainforest and up to towering limestone peaks shrouding in mist, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable, set apart on stilts in a tropical garden. The manager is an international who trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of New England, so the food is terrific. And he is Incredibly kind and helpful, arranging treks into the jungle (Khao Sok NP), a motorbike rental, overnight stays on the rafts at Chiaw Phraya, taxi rides, etc. My stay there was a highpoint of my visit to Thailand.

Wake up in a jungle”
Anurak was a unique experience, you wake up in the jugle, the huts are basic but they have everything that you need, a shower a balcony and a mosquito nest. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. The jungle surroundings are amazing. There was a fairly ok breakfast, the scrambled eggs where dry as from the preheat devise but the Chiang Mai coffee was a treat. We will be recommending this place to anyone whoe wants to have a glimpse of tropical forest hills of southern Thailand.

Perfect Stay”
I gave all 5 stars except for location. Location is a driving distance from Khao Sok. It’s not a bad thing in my opinion. I can just chill in this lodge the whole day. I did the reforestation program. And there are quite a few things to do in this lodge. Food is above average. I like the porridge for breakfast. Dinner comes with performance during our stay. Staffs really accommodative. Love their attitude and smiles. Will be back with my friends!

Nice bungalows in the nature”
I’d really recommend this place as it has nice large bungalows in the middle of luxurious vegetation. The staff is helpful and friendly. The reception is a bit far from car park so we struggled a bit to find it initially. Otherwise the restaurant (though closed when we stayed there) has a beautiful view over the jungle. Really awesome!

Secluded”
It’s secluded and you are basically covered in the forest. Basic but generous breakfast provided. Woke up to a bed of trees around you, simply back to nature.

Hot and unbothered ”
I strongly recommend you do not stay here. The AC does not work. In our first room, we were in it for two hours as the farang manager said it would cool down eventually. It never did and he never checked in on us once during our stay. Overall, the manager really didn’t seem to care about our situation and it was the lovely Thai staff who ended up helping us move to a new cooler room. Even in this room, it took two hours with the AC at 16 degrees Celsius to cool down the room to a bearable level. The huts are designed very poorly with unnecessarily tall roofs made of plywood that sucked in and trapped all the heat. As well, we told the staff (in Thai) as soon as we arrived that one of our group was severely allergic to shellfish. We had the big dinner they offered and the staff had not communicated this to the cooking staff. Every single dish had shrimp paste in it and was inedible for our friend. Finally, the tours they offered are severely overpriced.

Good Location for Exploring the Area”
We booked the Anurak Community Lodge primarily because it is pet friendly and allowed us to bring our dog along. The staff were excellent even providing a birthday cake for my wife. The accommodation was well maintained, everything worked perfectly, and clean. The view of from the windows was enough to keep you entertained from Squirrels to Bats to various bird life, no need for a TV! We ate at the restaurant every evening and were well looked after. Thank you for a really wonderful stay.

Exceptional”
We LOVED anurak! Such amazing staff, always wanted to help! Our shower hot water wasn’t working when we first arrived and they sent someone to help us within 10 minutes and it worked beautifully from then on! Very comfortable beds, lots to do and staff arranged everything for us! The jungle hike you can do by yourself but only takes 30 mins. Very cute though! Very quiet setting, good place to enjoy the jungle and relax. Food was delicious, would stay here again for sure! Only complaint is no wifi in the rooms, only common area.

Lovely quiet location in the middle of the jungle”
Khao Sok was a lovely retreat after having spent the 1st week in Bangkok and Chaing Mai. It's removed from all the hustle and bustle but in a lovely way. There are no restaurants or shops nearby which was fine by us. We took a day trip to a nearby freshwater reservoir/lake which is a do not miss. It was spectacular. We loved the tranquility of the lodge and the staff. There was a breakfast included but we found it a bit lacking, however you can order off the menu.

Great hotel, bad AC”
Great hotel. Charming location. be sure to check out the Jungle walk right behind the parking lot. Only one problem. The buildings are not insullated and it took several hours to cool down the room. We were there during an unseasonal heat wave. When it's 99 degrees F it takes 3 hours to cool down the room. After a big hike we realy neded to cool down. Dpn't let this discourage you if you don't mind the heat. the facillity is gorgeous and the staff is absolutely wonderful.

Peaceful but remote stay!”
We loved the vibe of the lodge when we arrived. Everything was so natural and it was a great way to disconnect. We loved the room and it was spacious. Focus of sustainability and the environment was great to see too! The food here is really great and it made up for there not being any close by restaurants. The downside is the location is quite far from the town and all tours and plans should be made a day beforehand as there is not much flexibility for last minute plans. It’s a really nice place to stay but would only recommend for a maximum of 2 nights!

Transported to the jungle.”
Located in the midst of the tropical jungle, with spectacular mountain views. Rooms are on stilts, tree level. Soft comfortable clean beds & bedding meant we had a wonderful sleep. 100% tranquility & relaxation. We will make it our new Koh Sok stop over as we are regular travelers in Thailand.

Worth it”
Really enjoyed our stay here and would def recommend it. It is a fair bit away from everything, but we didn’t mind as the views were absolutely breath taking. The staff were very helpful and amazing and our room was just as beautiful. Thank you for a memorable stay. xx

The staff desperately need training and managing, very poor service and maintenance levels.”
Room smart but mossie net full of holes!! Useless! Food very good but waiting staff ignored our needs completely. When I got up to go to the bar to look for a waitress they were all crouched on the floor hiding from customers playing on their smartphones. Having got the drinks I asked for they returned to their chats. We were never offered a dessert, and at 8.25 they rushed around clearing up for 5 mins then closed the bar and restaurant and went home at8.30. You are then miles from anywhere and there are no staff or information about how to contact services if there was an emergency. The kids padding pool wa full of putrid green water- great for breeding mosquitos in a malaria area, and the table tennis area was filthy, the seating was too dirty to sit on. The wooden platform with seats by the river had a rotten plank and my foot went through injuring my leg. staff arranged our taxi transfer to Phuket, he got us totally lost. The “community” lodge is a con, no evidence of local input

Very convenient while on your way to Khao Sok NP, or on the way back. Easy to reach, but some distance with the road. Beautiful garden and forest scenery from the restaurant. New houses, clean and ver”
it was a little pricy compared to other options, but high quality, as said. We had a nice relaxing evening there after coming from Khao Sok and before leaving the area from Surat Thani airport. They also arranged airport transfer.

Not worth the price.”
Although Anurak is situated in a beautiful area and the staff were very nice and helpful, there are many things wrong with Anurak. The first and worst thing is we got bitten by small black insects (not mosquitos). On our first night, it was obvious the bed sheets had not been changed, there were pubic hairs in the sheets and little crumbs, black dots, and tiny black insects, we both woke in the morning covered in small itchy bites all over our backs and torsos. We had to ask to change one of our pillows as it was clammy and smelled and when I removed the pillow case it was covered in mould. We had a large cockroach in the room - but given its in the jungle I think this is forgivable. The room was tired and run down, and bare - not even a chair in the room. There were some chairs on the porch but none in the room. No hair dryer, no kettle, no fridge. The whole room was just run down. I understand from reading other reviews the hotel is run by locals, but that is no excuse for dirty bed linen and poor value for money. Again I want to state the staff were very nice and the location is beautiful, but its vastly overpriced for the state the place is in and the facilities they provide guests.

Thank You for your review, and apologies for any disappointment. We have now replaced all of our bed linens here at the hotel so everything is fresh and new. Thank you as well for complementing our staff and location, in regards to the electrical items the reason they are not in the room is we are an eco-lodge and do our best to minimize our footprint. We do hope you come again and we will ensure a better experience, at the front we do have a hair-dryer, kettle, and can store cold items for you as mentioned on the in room welcome letter, though we will ensure this is communicated better next time by informing upon arrival. Safe Travels & Thank You Again, Anurak Community Lodge
