By the beach, friendly staff ”
The hotel is very near the Ao Cho Beach. But you need walk difficult 5 minutes' walk from the beach to the hotel. Please note that the name at the entrence of the hotel is Hideaway Resort, no the word Grandview. The hotel is far from the diamond beach where you can watch the fire performance. You can rent a motorbike from the taxi station on the way from the Ao Cho Beach to the hotel. Breakfast offers fewer choices and is monotonous. Rooms are bungalows but are small.
Great hotel on a nice quiet beach ”
Ao Cho is a great beach if you are looking for a quiet spot with few people on Koh Samet. There was another livelier beach five minutes walk away if you want a bit more of a commercial atmosphere, and it was easy to take a taxi to Hat Sai Keow in the evening for dinner, fire shows, etc if you want. The VIP room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast didn't have a ton of options, but the food was good, served at tables right on the beach, and they had peaceful music playing. This hotel was recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint.
Great, rustic, family beach place”
If you want a 5 Star resort holiday then Koh Samet isn't the place for you because they don't exist. If you are flexible and can accept a few annoyances than this is a great place. I really liked this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the food was fine, the beach was clean, staff were friendly and it's close to Wongduen beach which has many more restaurants and entertainment. The hotel is being renovated, but they weren't working the week we were there. There are millions of mosquitoes but this is all over Koh Samet (take repellant). We got a very good deal on the rooms we had so to us it was great value. For what we wanted it was perfect.
Great place”
Amazing. Booked this hotel for a mother/daughter break as the one I wanted (recommended by friends) was fully booked, we weren't too sure what to expect for an overall cheap price, and were pleasantly surprised. First the location. Okay it's a bit far from the ferry pier and the taxi is not that cheap for Thailand, but the room was clean and comfortable and two steps away from the resort private beach, a little quiet paradise. Staff is super nice and the restaurant food, slighlty more expensive than some other places on the island is fresh and remains reasonably priced. This is the ideal place for a good rest away from busy Bangkok, but not so much if you want to go out and party every evening. (we paid for two persons 200 baht per way to get to the nearest stores /restaurants / markets, and 250 to go to the ferry pier - note that speed boats can be hired to come directly to Ao Cho) Breakfast is very nice too with a choice of bread but also thai food and made to order omelettes. We had a garden view room, but there are ocean view suites which look absolutely awesome, facing the sea with a private terrace in front. plus: quiet location, beautiful view, nice rooms, very relaxing environment, super nice staff, very good (free) wifi minus: far from "center", some rocks in the water
Beautiful Resort for Great Price”
Having booked through Agoda i was convinced that this place would be to my liking judging from all the reviews posted . I was not disappointed , on the contrary , the Resort exceeded my expectation ! The Ocean Breeze Villa was comfortable , clean and all in perfect working order , the Beach was beautiful and private , without the mayhem and overcrowding i witnessed in other resorts next to Ao Cho Grand View . I loved the friendly and courteous Staff , always happy and smiling when serving me , and the Resident Manager Su Bontree was always around to see that all was perfect , and i like his touch in music , cool lounge and just right for the Resort , groove and chill without being too intrusive ! Great Resort , Great Holiday ( i promptly extended another 4 nights ) , thanks to all who made it a fab experience !
Great location”
I really liked the location on Ao Cho beach. The beach felt quieter and more private than surrounding beaches. It's not so close to the busy nightlife but I'd rather have a quieter experience and go elsewhere for the nightlife. The bed was probably the most comfortable I've slept on in Thailand. Most places have really hard beds but they had a memory foam topper on top of a bit softer mattress. It was really nice! I'd come back here for the bed. The grounds were well taken care of. They have outdoor dining options right on the sand. The down sides: (1) The clear roof in the shower cracked from the weight of debris on top of it. I noticed this because I was taking a shower when it started raining outside and the water started leaking in. I informed the resort so hopefully they will fix it. (2) The lounge chairs at the beach were in horrible condition. Some were cracked and some had rusty screws sticking out. They need to be thrown away and replaced. The resort charges enough money to stay here that they can certainly afford to buy replacement lounge chairs. And to double the number of chairs they had out. (3) The breakfast may be plentiful, but it was nothing special. I don't expect great breakfasts in Thailand. I don't think I've stayed at one hotel or resort here that provided what I would consider a good breakfast. They had cereal, fruit, some hot items, rice, and breads with a toaster. If it wasn't included with the room, I wouldn't pay for it. I think they include it with all rooms though. If you like a quieter and more private beach but don't want to spend your day sitting in a lounge chair, this place is probably for you.
Quality beachside resort ”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ao Cho Grandview Hideaway resort. Will definetly return in the future.
perfect weekend ”
Although the island isn't the most well kept, ao cho hideaway is perfect. Quite pristine beach. Excellent views. Friendly staff and our ocean view room was very good. A busier beach in the next bay if you want more choice for food and drink. All in all a perfect place for a long weekend.
A great litle beach, very relaxing.”
We liked our stay at Ao Cho Grand View very much. The location was very relaxing and soft. The restaurang on the beach was very nice. The breakfast was ok. The other resorts on this beach was very simple but you could have just something to drink there but not eating. You could take a walk to the bigger beach if you want more restaurants to choose from or you can just stay at Ao Cho Grand View´s restaurant.
A perfect beach during Thailand rainy season”
We're staying for 3 days at the resort. We were riding motorbike around the island visiting different beaches. We noticed that Ao Cho Grand View Resort tugs in the corner of the quiet beach away from heavy wind comparing to others beaches so we can see clear water and feel safe from storm when we've rainy day.(We'd rain every night while we're there). Hotel food is delicious and service is excellent.
Ian from Australia”
3rd visit to Koh Samet and this is the hidden gem on the island. Quiet private beach, easily accessible to most things but if want to get to min area of town will need a taxi or moped. I hired one for the 10 days spent here. 300 baht day and used it everyday to do things like utilise local services outside of the resort - minimart for cheaper drinks, snacks and laundry services and gave the ability to go into town to try one of the hundreds of restaurants. Best food is Buddies on the main beach - it's the first restaurant you come across on the main beach. Don't tell everyone as don't ant this place to be overcrowded for my next visit.
A Nice Hideaway”
Having decided to get a speedboat from the mainland to the island, it turned out to be the best idea. We were dropped off on the beach outside the hotel, with friendly staff to take our bags. Check in was a breeze. Please note though, 500baht is needed as a deposit for the room key but is fully refundable on departure, as long as you still have your key! We had a bungalow with a sea view and it was great. The view, the cleanliness, the air conditioning! The only real small disappointment was the shower. Whilst it worked, it wasn't very powerful or hot. The restaurant was slightly overpriced compared to places in the town, but then you are staying in a decent hotel, with a great view. Meals were costing around £15 in total, including drinks, so not too bad. If you went into town to eat, you can add 400baht onto the bill to start with to cover the return taxi, Breakfast was great, with a good choice of fruit, cereal, Thai food and freshly made omelettes. The location of the hotel, again, I thought was great. 15 minutes in a taxi to town so not deserted, but so quiet and relaxing, with its own private beach.. There were plenty of fish to be seen aswell and I enjoyed snorkelling there. Samet town, to me, was similar to a Cornish fishing town, only with different sounds and smells. The people were friendly and more than helpful. I went to the main beach in town, but after the quietness of the hotel beach, it was slightly overwhelming. If you are into your watersports though, this is the place to come. Parasailing, banana boats, jet skis, the lot From the hotel, we booked an evening speedboat ride to cover snorkelling and the sunset. It cost 400baht each and was well worth the money. The speedboat was equipped with all the snorkelling gear needed, drinks and fresh fruit. The only downer to the trip was the sunset! There was too much cloud and didn't really get any good photos.
The Perfect Spot !”
Ao Cho bay is a small bay on the east side of the island. It's an easy walk to the next, bigger bay with more choice of bars and restaurants, but we preferred the peace and quiet of Ao Cho. We found the sea to be clearer for snorkelling and found some interesting sealife. There are a few bars on the small strip, which is all you need to chill out on an evening. I would definitely stay here again.
Most beautiful beach on Koh Samed”
Our 4 day stay at Ao Cho Grand View was one of the best holidays we have ever had. Sadly, in the times of COVID, we had the hotel mostly to ourselves. Friendly staff who arranged special breakfast for us in our villa. Very clean, good food, excellent cocktails, it's truly the most beautiful beach with crystal clear waters. Staff were helpful in pointing us to the motorbike rental with great advice on where to go on the island. We'll definitely come back again soon. Special thanks to Khun Jenny, who take care of us very nicely.
Great little resort”
Stayed for 3 nights at the Ao Cho Grand View Resort at the beginning of March. Villa was well presented with good size bathroom and decent bed, Flatscreen TV and a beautiful view over the sea. Location was great, very quiet and much better than Ao VongDuen the next bay where i have stayed before and now seems overrun. The breakfast was a buffet style with an omlette station which was sufficient and the food that could be bought for lunch/dinner was nice and not expensive. The staff were a bit slow at times though. The sea is clear here and the only problem i could comment on is that there are a number of rocks in the sea that make walking barefoot a bit of a challenge. All in all a good resort to stay at.
Great and memorable!”
The Resort is right at the Ao Cho part of the island and the location is just perfect! The beach is very different from the other ones around the island; there's no speed boats, water motorbikes, or banana boats around, and the beach is super clean.
Great hotel and next door to a terrific restaurant”
the ao cho grand view is a terrific resort and one i would stay at again. i was looking for a quiet place to read and swim and do some walking and it fit the bill. hiking trails were good, and not used. restaurant next door to resort prepared fish thai style excellently
Good Stay!”
Location: Access is a bit far from main jetty, you'll have to hire truck or rent bike to get there. View from Suite Ocean Front is awesome! Beach is clean, slight rock inside but the rest is good. Clean sea, relaxing and great for couple holiday! Room: Rooms are clean and nice, bathrooms are impressive! Night mosquitoes can be quite challenging as it's surrounded by greens, but the rooms all have mosquitoes netting. :) Staff: Staffs are very helpful and friendly! The only thing I don't like about is that there are way too many flies. But this seems to be a very common issue in Koh Samet.
Top on Ao Cho Beach”
Probably Ao Cho is one of the best beach on Koh Samet! The resort is very nice. The room was ok (hillside) with great sea view.
Almost perfect but still need to improve about cleaning& Check in time”
I was here for two nights with ocean suit room. If you are a person who love the beach and would like to stay on a quiet place. Ao cho could be the right place and this hotel could be a good choice. Advantages -The hotel is on a perfect location. Very easy to get to the beach. Moreover, the beach is so nice with clear water and white nice sand. -Restaurant is good. Good taste and not too expensive. -Nice staff. I would not say below are disadvantage. But it's something that hotel should consider to improve. -The room should ready for check in at 2 PM. I was arrived at the hotel about 12PM and i totally understand that the check in time is 2 PM. I asked a staff at counter few times and i feel that she a bit edgy when i ask about if my room is ready. Finally, i'm the last guest who get the room at 3PM while other guest who arrive later than me can get the room before me. (You ask all guest to check out before 12 PM, to be fair with customer the room should ready for check out at 2PM. )
