Find hotels near Ao Lo Dalam in Ko Phi Phi, Thailand

Who we are: a family of 4 (2 adults, 7 and 14 year old, we like luxury hotels, but will settle for lower end accommodation if CLEAN). After a bad experience in Koh Lanta (Baan Puteri resorts ... don't go there!) decided to land on Phi Phi and look around BEFORE booking. We checked out the west side of Ton Sai bay (simple, clean, cheap but a LOT of boat motor noise all day), then Cabana Hotel (very nice but HUGE + commercial), Phi Phi Inn (really beautiful Miami style, but reaked of mould (both at pool level + on 2nd floor). Then all the way to west side of Loh Dalam bay to the little rooms for rent there, which are of good value + clean, but not safe for kids (steep stairs) and the bay is not as nice there (there is huge construction going on, tractor noise, dust, etc). We walked east along the bay + landed at PP Princess. It was PERFECT: spotless rooms, clean smelling linen, beautiful pool, ON the beach. Despite location, very well soundproofed rooms, EXCELLENT breakfast!

We stayed here for 10 days on Phi Phi Island and we can not rave about it enough! They were waiting at the pier for us to get off the ferry when we first arrived, check in was smooth (had to put down 1000bhat deposit, normal) we got given wrist bands which is probably the only thing I wasn’t too keen on, I moved my band to my ankle so it didn’t annoy me. We celebrated my birthday and I received a lovely cake delivered to our room which was such a nice surprise to end my day! The breakfast buffet has heaps of variety, good selection of western food as well as Asian style. Yummy fresh breads each day and good coffee machine too! The pool is the absolute highlight of this place! We spent half our time lazing at the pool, the drinks during happy hour are same price you’d get anywhere 100bhat and to indulge while chilling at the pool is a must! Location is the main thing I seriously can’t fault, it’s right on the beach, and also right on Main Street. You can literally walk anywhere so quickly, it’s so convenient to everything. In saying this you do have to beware that the PP Charlie rooms are very close to the Main Street so can hear music late at night, but if you book with PP Princess (literally same hotel just different block of rooms) their rooms are closet to the beach so less noise at night. Regardless though the location is still amazing being so handy to everything. We can not wait to come back, get yourself a deal and book this place it’s worth it!

We were met at the port by the amazing porter who carried our bags all the way up to the hotel. Very steep walk and about 15 mins from the port. Easy check in, very friendly staff and helpful. Bungalow was amazing.. had the best view over the bay- very clean, cleaned daily with fresh towels and water. Very cold aircon which kept you cool at night. The infinity pool was amazing.. perfect for watching the sun go down. Ok selection at breakfast- the basics- eggs, omelettes; toast, bacon etc. Quite noisy at night due to the clubs on the beach- but we were a young couple who had no problem getting to sleep. Would strongly reccomend and huge thanks to the porter who also carried our bags back down to the port- amazing!!!

Little late review we where staying in 2 villas around 2 months ago. The villa where just build and we stay there during a soft opening. The villa was amazing with the swimmingpool shared with 2 other villas. Everything was brand new and really good quality. Good wifi with 2 accespoints on both levels. 2 Smart TV's. The staff were very helpful but you could see that the villas are a different quality level for the hotel. The villas were new and the service level you expect was a several times lower then it should be. For example the check in and out went very differently than you expect when booking a 4 star villa, multiple customers where waiting and the staff handles the situation like you expect from a guesthouse. I would advise separate staff for the villas to help you with priority (higher service). After this confusing experience only positive reports about the staff. Perfect cleaning, self-chosen breakfast served daily in the villa on time you choose. Even the possibility to bring the breakfast in the bedroom! Only a small recommend for security staff: don't walk so close around the swimmingpool and don't shine with your light to customers when they are in the pool or sit outside. The space around the villas was not planted yet. No problem given the soft opening. I'm sure when this is all done then it's a super location. Important to mention is that the villa is maximum 50 meters from the beach, where in the evenings until 2:00 a disco turns loud music. Personally we did not find it annoying little music in the pool. But if you book the villa to enjoy your rest and like go to sleep before 2:00, I would certainly not recommend the villa. Some small complains in my review but still high score because I think the staff need time to get more experience and for a soft opening it was more then great. I would come back for sure.

We stayed there for 2 night. The location of the hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from the pier, but it is very close to the beach parties and Ao Lo Dalam beach. Also it is about 5 minute walk from where all the buzz is in town. Overall, the location was perfect. The only downfall was that on our checkout date we asked for a 2 hour extension. They charged us Bath per hour which was seriously steep and they were very rude and negative about us checking out late. Abit of an attitude change is required from the front staff

Phi Phi Maiyada is about 10-15 minutes walk from the pier towards Ao Lo Dalam. I was given a room in building C which was recently completed. Room was very basic but clean. Although it was away from the shopping street and bars, you can still hear the music throughout the night. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast starts at 7.30 am. I paid but missed two days of breakfast as I have to leave earlier for diving. It would be great if there is someone at the pier to greet and guide the guest to the 'resort' upon arrival.

If you really go without expecting too much you’d be surprised to discover a nice place with lovely pool, close to the center; not bad at all. We booked a villa with resort view; pretty basic, the bed looked uncomfortable at first but somehow we had the best sleep in this hotel. They have two pools, one for those who’s staying at the hotel; loved this one with really good music playing from the pool bar. Another one infront of the beach, lovely but a bit dirty.. i think they don’t take much care of it as they have 3 times a week an open pool party (seemed fun) with lots of people. The only thing I really didn’t like was the breakfast, very basic and even the basic is not good! Bread wasn’t fresh, seemed like it was from few days ago.. and even the fried rice wasn’t good which is maybe the most basic and popular thai food! To make things short bad breakfast:) The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is central and close to a quite nice beach.

Best hotel in Thailand. I loved everything. We saw monkeys outside playing. The staff was nice and helpful with luggage. You can hear the music and nightlife from our hotel balcony but not loud enough where you can't sleep. The bed is stiff but most of them are stiff in Thailand. Our breakfast was good and simple. My boyfriend found a spider in his hot water many times. On our last night we asked for an extra night at a hotel for the same price and they moved us to a bigger room higher up the mountain. When it was time for check out they charged us an additional $20 (not the same price as we previously agreed to). We got ripped off and my boyfriend got pissed. Also, the stairs to go up your hotel is very tiring. I'm not overweight but my boyfriend is and we both had trouble going up. I wouldn't recommend it for elderly or non-fit people unless you don't mind taking frequent stops/breaks. The view from our room is fantastic. It's worth the climb. I would come back!

There was no elevator in the hotel, but staff took care of our bags. We asker for a late check-out, but staff informed us, that we have to pay around 300 bat per hour. But all hotels in Thailand charge for a late check-out. The room was OK, and location was really good. In the center of Phi Phi. In the evening it was a bit noisy. The breakfast was almost perfect. Fruits were fresh and sweet and the coffee was tasty (for us it was really complicated to find good coffee in Thailand). I would say this hotel was one of the best what we had in this country.

I hv read lotsa positive review about this hotel and was confuse about should I stay but I hv 2 do at da last minute and when I arrived phi phi island there's a stuff waiting 4 me and some other guest there.we wait awhile till he sure nobody left then he offer 2 carried my backpack walk to the hotel and at the 1st step on da lobby I spent lotsa energy on the steep stair as some review shown but I totally happy wif the service and warm welcome from the staff and the leader(normally thai tourist almost treated as a second class tourist)..in the room got everything u need 4 vacation staying place air con work smoothly but u may feel not 2 cold cause the weather on phi phi quite over heat at the daylight but I'm sure it's work wisely..the view from the room is very good in my opinion of cause there're plenty construction blocked the vision of the ocean but not that bad besides on phi phi it's seems so civilize and developing so nothing to blame the hotel but blame the developing of the ocean..brakfast is standard and taste fine also the hotel booked the better price and better boat for hald day trip around the island and maya beach...as I am can't swim but the service of this tour offer me 2 snuggled and it was impressive...on the lastday b4 I left I was considered 2 stay another night but poor I hv something 2 do so I hv 2 leave.....luv this hotel as much as I luv phi phi so I recommended on this name phi phi arboreal resort.....the best

This hotel is in an amazing location with gorgeous views of Ao Dalam Beach. The pool feels like it drops right off into the ocean, and the front desk staff is extremely friendly, especially an older lady that I believe is the manager. They made us feel very welcome and it was about 5 minutes walk away from the Ao Dalam beach nightlife. A little pricier than other places nearby but it was worth it for us. Highly recommended!!

Among all the places we stayed over our two weeks in Thailand, Uphill cottage was one of the best!! They first pick you up right at the pier and carry your luggages in a chariot all the way up to the hotel (about 10min walk) and take you there. We were so glad they offer that service as our bags were very heavy. Same on departure, they take you to the pier anytime you like. The receptionist was really kind and helpful and recommended us a few tours we could do, which we weRe really happy with. The room was very bright, had a beautiful view on the bay and a nice balcony. The bathroom needs a little bit of refurbishment but it is not a big deal as it was clean. The swimming pool was clean and right under the sun. There are steps to get to the rooms but that was absolutely not an issue to us as it gives a very nice view and makes the place very charming! Also, they are happy to help you to take your bags up! My wife and I booked this place from the Ao Nang Orchid Resort (awesome) in Ao Nang Beach via the internet. The setting is beautiful, albeit a bit of a hike to the upper rooms, solid a/c, clean rooms, but needed a little maintenance, small, clean, usually empty pool. We'd heard the prices on the islands were a bit more than the mainland and the Phittarom is no exception. We found much nicer rooms elsewhere in Thailand for the same price. Not sure if we'd stay there again...maybe for twenty bucks a night less.

We stayed in one of the new rooms (small) and this was perfect. Don't be put off by the small, it had ample enough space for us to make a mess in. With the hotel being just off the main bar area means you can have a quite night should you chose, some times you do hear the other guests come home but there's no music. The hotel pool was great in the afternoon to get out of the heat and refresh at the swim up bar. And best of all... The food! On the 6th day we were to lazy to go out so we ate at the hotel. The food was the best we found on our 1 month trip! The only strange thing was you have to ask for Toilet paper when your running low as they won't change it for you.

We are from San Diego, California. We stayed at this hotel 2 nights in December 2015. We had the beach view room on the 3rd floor. After staying at numerous hostels and low budget places around Thailand, we ended our trip with a nicer hotel and loved it. I thought the location was great! t's very close to the main pier and pretty much in the heart of everything but still very quiet. It'll be loud all over the island so just bring some ear plugs wherever you choose to stay but this hotel was pretty decent with the outside "party" noise. The staff doesn't speak much English so you can't use a concierge-type service where you can get advice on tours and things to do around the island but they were nice and not rude at all (nice staff is always a plus in my book). We needed to keep our luggage somewhere after we checked out and they held onto it for us which was awesome! They even gave us some towels and let us use their "lobby" bathroom even after we checked out which was amazing! This place was super chill, would be better if there was a pool!! They come in and give you new towels and make your bed everyday which was unexpected (we weren't used to that in Thailand). Their AC worked very well...so necessary in Thailand!!! Their windows and sliding doors were nice and tight so I didn't have to worry about mosquitos or bugs coming in. They have a rain shower and pull-out shower nozzle thingy which we appreciated so much!!

After reading reviews we were quite skeptical to book but because of the location and decent pics of the rooms online we decided to go for it. We were greeted by one of the workers at the pier when we hopped off which we weren't expecting, he helped transfer our bags to the hotel which was bonus. Hotel staff is friendly, you are required to pay a deposit of 1000thb for the room keys. The location can't get any better, youre smack dab right in the middle of it all. The room was quite spacious and clean and for the price we paid we were quite happy. Now let's talk about the cons. Room noise is a big issue, we were on the highest floor at the back of the building and could hear the music and people singing loud and clear up till 2-3am. Can't imagine how it is for the people staying at the front. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, hotel cleanup did a poor job of suppling toilet paper/handsoap daily. Towels supplied were old and had a smell to them. Overall with the limited selection of quality hotels and this price including location, we were quite happy with the stay and would recommend for anyone who loves to party and stay out most of the day.

This hotel is 10-15mins walk from the tonsai pier. But the main attraction of the hotel is view and location. Take a room in the first floor and you will enjoy your leisure from the balcony hanging over the ocean. this hotel is near koh dalum pier, and just next to the party area of the beach. Though it will not be that much of problem if you are seeking sleep and peach at night. There is no car available from the pier to the hotel, though hotel boy will be waiting at the pier and collect your baggages along with you obviously. key features of the hotel room is view from the balcony. If you want to go to the phi phi view point it is also very near from the hotel, around 20-30mins walk. you can find bar and restaurants in the ground floor too though with selected option. we booked the jj bungalows for 1 night and ended up booking another, we would of stayed longer but we couldn't. we were picked up from the port by a young lad who carried our bags all the way to the hotel. now this was a long walk as its on the other side of the island but it was well worth it. the downside to the hotel's location is you have to walk past a waste treatment site but if you hold your nose your past it in a few minutes and it looks pretty! phi phi is a party island and this hotel was just far enough away to be in total peace and quiet which was great. our bungalow was the highest one up so there were a lot of stairs to climb but it was gorgeous. a really comfy bed with flat screen tv with some english channels, a fridge with bottled water put in each day. now the only downside to this place is that the showers are cold, but this actually turned out well because you were that hot and sweaty a cold shower was just what you needed! there's a nice pool but not many sunloungers but the beach is that nice and we didn't really use the pool. there is no free wi-fi but you can buy an hours worth for but most restaurants or bars have free so just use theirs. this is a wonderful place to stay on phi phi and i would recommend it to anyone and would stay there again.

Phi Phi Cozy is good for couples or singles (adults). Its not good for families with children since its on a hill with uneven surfaces and very difficult to access with a child and/or a stroller. The rooms are pretty old design and not contemporary style. The resort is very close to the Au Dalam beach (5 min walk) which is a party beach with late night parties and "LOUD" music and activities which causes disturbance if you are a family with children. But, as I have mentioned above, for adults this is a plus point, especially if you are a party animal. The good part is: the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They attended to all of our requests. We were even allowed a late check-out. Long tail boats are for hire within 5 min walking distance. They also have a good restaurant with a good chef who can cook really yummy food. And finally, KILLER VIEWS!!!!! We had an ocean front room and we sat in the front porch watching the sun set and we got up watching sun rise lying in bed!!!

We enjoyed our five days there and would certainly go back again. The room was clean, the mattress soft, the water hot, and the price affordable. The Bungalow is at the top of a somewhat long and steep path; you need strong legs to make the climb and even stronger legs to carry your luggage up there. So, the location is not "excellent." I couldn't find it on my GPS, so finding it was a bit of a challenge. The WiFi is not the best, so I bought a low cost mobile service and put it on my iPhone to provide my own Hot Spot. In spite of these drawbacks, we liked the place. At the end of our five days, we extended our stay for another 7 days. In other words, I recommend it!

Hotel located in high spot from beach so hard to walk but view and location is amazing, peacful spot for relaxing. Once you walk out side room preffer not to come back until sleep time. Beach sarounded not very clean better to take a boat to long beach and spend the day for swimming. Staff are friendly and helpfull. So many choices for hotels on arrival to island as you can book straight on the peir from the hotels staff sarounded with many offers and locations to choose.

Owner greeted us at port when our ship came in which was nice! Two bottles of beautiful cold water upon arrival! Yes the stairs are steep but me and my partner are moderately fit so its fine! Wouldn't wanna climb them drunk though! Best view of the whole island accross whole beach was amazing! We paid £36 for one night which is cheap for phi phi island (we booked night before) breakfast is good the owner cooked us both an omlette each and loads of tea/coffee/juice! Would defo stay again

My brother and I were only going to stay 5 nights but we liked the hotel so much that we stayed an extra night. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. There were about 5 staff in all and they all seemed to chip in the help with the running of the place. They were the most friendly and helpful staff that I have ever come across. They always had a smile on their faces and always said hello. On some nights we prefered to stay and eat and drink at the hotel rather than go into the village just so that we could chat with the staff. They were very relaxed which helped make the whole place relaxed. The location is great (as long as you are reasonably fit) Don't believe the reviews that criticise the location as being too far from the village. It is only really 10 minutes walk and on a warm evening that is great. You would not want to stay in the village because it is full of drunk Aussies wearing vests and English girls handing out drinks offers leaflets. If you are staying in the fan rooms then there is a further steep climb up about 100 steps so make sure you don't forget anything and have to go back to your room or you will need another shower when you get to the top. We had a fan room and the fan only reached one bed. The next day we asked if there was a spair fan and we returned to our room to find that there was an extra fan!! The pool is great and much needed. The walk past the sewage treatment is not as bad as people make out. It smells a bit but only as you are right alongside it. It is not near to the hotel and it has actually been turned into a pretty garden. It is not some industrial waste unit. If I came back to Phi Phi I would only come back here. I was genuinely sad when I said goodbye to the staff as was my brother.

Was a bit apprehensive going to Phi Phi with its party and overdevelopment reputation. But Kitty House with hosts Drei and Thip changed that all of that. Booked for 2 nights. Extended 3 more nights. Location is great - easy walking distance to town, but far enough away for peace. Porter to carry bags from pier. Room was large, cool, clean. Comfy clean bed. Nice warm shower and clean bathroom. Nice communal area. Good WiFi. Exceptional advice and tour/transport booking. I really can't fault the guesthouse in any way - I'll be back next year for sure. 11/10 for Drei and Thip - best hosts ever - miss you guys :-)

If you are first time on phi phi, call them and they will pick you up from pier! Hotel is veery tired, it had its best days but staff tries to push all the best from what's left, refurbish would make this place ideal, otherwise beds are old, as a bathroom condition, room has a small window to a street and interior lighting makes room quite dark! They try to make surrounding quiet with the signs, but all three nights we stayed at about 4am drunk youngsters made a noise from guesthouse other side of the street, so it isn't good place to sleep, because this at night, and locals wake up at 6 and make same noise! As a value for money for this spoiled island is ok, but in total island is not worth money you pay there!

we recommend to pre-book this destination online as it provides cheaper prices. within X-mass and NY holidays all the hotels are almost overbooked on Koh Phi-Phi so it becomes much more actual to have a pre-booked hotel room or bungalow before you get there. there are no cars and motorcycles on this island so the air is really pure. the food is outstanding whether it is a restaurant or simple eatery. This is one of the most beautiful islands with unforgettable atmosphere
