Best hotels & accommodations in Ao Lo Dalam

Who we are: a family of 4 (2 adults, 7 and 14 year old, we like luxury hotels, but will settle for lower end accommodation if CLEAN). After a bad experience in Koh Lanta (Baan Puteri resorts ... don't go there!) decided to land on Phi Phi and look around BEFORE booking. We checked out the west side of Ton Sai bay (simple, clean, cheap but a LOT of boat motor noise all...

We stayed here for 10 days on Phi Phi Island and we can not rave about it enough! They were waiting at the pier for us to get off the ferry when we first arrived, check in was smooth (had to put down 1000bhat deposit, normal) we got given wrist bands which is probably the only thing I wasn’t too keen on, I moved my band to my ankle so it didn’t annoy me. We celebrated...

We were met at the port by the amazing porter who carried our bags all the way up to the hotel. Very steep walk and about 15 mins from the port. Easy check in, very friendly staff and helpful. Bungalow was amazing.. had the best view over the bay- very clean, cleaned daily with fresh towels and water. Very cold aircon which kept you cool at night. The infinity pool was...

Little late review we where staying in 2 villas around 2 months ago. The villa where just build and we stay there during a soft opening. The villa was amazing with the swimmingpool shared with 2 other villas. Everything was brand new and really good quality. Good wifi with 2 accespoints on both levels. 2 Smart TV's. The staff were very helpful but you could see that ...

We stayed there for 2 night. The location of the hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from the pier, but it is very close to the beach parties and Ao Lo Dalam beach. Also it is about 5 minute walk from where all the buzz is in town. Overall, the location was perfect. The only downfall was that on our checkout date we asked for a 2 hour extension. They charged us Bath pe...

Phi Phi Maiyada is about 10-15 minutes walk from the pier towards Ao Lo Dalam. I was given a room in building C which was recently completed. Room was very basic but clean. Although it was away from the shopping street and bars, you can still hear the music throughout the night. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast starts at 7.30 am. I paid but missed ...

If you really go without expecting too much you’d be surprised to discover a nice place with lovely pool, close to the center; not bad at all. We booked a villa with resort view; pretty basic, the bed looked uncomfortable at first but somehow we had the best sleep in this hotel. They have two pools, one for those who’s staying at the hotel; loved this one with really ...

Best hotel in Thailand. I loved everything. We saw monkeys outside playing. The staff was nice and helpful with luggage. You can hear the music and nightlife from our hotel balcony but not loud enough where you can't sleep. The bed is stiff but most of them are stiff in Thailand. Our breakfast was good and simple. My boyfriend found a spider in his hot water many times...

There was no elevator in the hotel, but staff took care of our bags. We asker for a late check-out, but staff informed us, that we have to pay around 300 bat per hour. But all hotels in Thailand charge for a late check-out. The room was OK, and location was really good. In the center of Phi Phi. In the evening it was a bit noisy. The breakfast was almost perfect. F...

I hv read lotsa positive review about this hotel and was confuse about should I stay but I hv 2 do at da last minute and when I arrived phi phi island there's a stuff waiting 4 me and some other guest there.we wait awhile till he sure nobody left then he offer 2 carried my backpack walk to the hotel and at the 1st step on da lobby I spent lotsa energy on the steep stai...

This hotel is in an amazing location with gorgeous views of Ao Dalam Beach. The pool feels like it drops right off into the ocean, and the front desk staff is extremely friendly, especially an older lady that I believe is the manager. They made us feel very welcome and it was about 5 minutes walk away from the Ao Dalam beach nightlife. A little pricier than other place...

Among all the places we stayed over our two weeks in Thailand, Uphill cottage was one of the best!! They first pick you up right at the pier and carry your luggages in a chariot all the way up to the hotel (about 10min walk) and take you there. We were so glad they offer that service as our bags were very heavy. Same on departure, they take you to the pier anytime y...

My wife and I booked this place from the Ao Nang Orchid Resort (awesome) in Ao Nang Beach via the internet. The setting is beautiful, albeit a bit of a hike to the upper rooms, solid a/c, clean rooms, but needed a little maintenance, small, clean, usually empty pool. We'd heard the prices on the islands were a bit more than the mainland and the Phittarom is no exceptio...

We stayed in one of the new rooms (small) and this was perfect. Don't be put off by the small, it had ample enough space for us to make a mess in. With the hotel being just off the main bar area means you can have a quite night should you chose, some times you do hear the other guests come home but there's no music. The hotel pool was great in the afternoon to get out ...

We are from San Diego, California. We stayed at this hotel 2 nights in December 2015. We had the beach view room on the 3rd floor. After staying at numerous hostels and low budget places around Thailand, we ended our trip with a nicer hotel and loved it. I thought the location was great! t's very close to the main pier and pretty much in the heart of everything but ...

After reading reviews we were quite skeptical to book but because of the location and decent pics of the rooms online we decided to go for it. We were greeted by one of the workers at the pier when we hopped off which we weren't expecting, he helped transfer our bags to the hotel which was bonus. Hotel staff is friendly, you are required to pay a deposit of 1000thb for...

This hotel is 10-15mins walk from the tonsai pier. But the main attraction of the hotel is view and location. Take a room in the first floor and you will enjoy your leisure from the balcony hanging over the ocean. this hotel is near koh dalum pier, and just next to the party area of the beach. Though it will not be that much of problem if you are seeking sleep and peac...

we booked the jj bungalows for 1 night and ended up booking another, we would of stayed longer but we couldn't. we were picked up from the port by a young lad who carried our bags all the way to the hotel. now this was a long walk as its on the other side of the island but it was well worth it. the downside to the hotel's location is you have to walk past a waste tr...

This resort is much better than what it looks like in pictures, the best part is that it is very quiet even though it is right near the party scenes on the beach. The staff is good but my suggestion is to put on a smile on interactions with them, they will help you in everything that they can. Really enjoyed our stat here would come back for sure!

I’m Thai solo traveling. I had a booking for a night and the location is not as bad as in others reviews. However Phi phi island is not too big so you can go through by walking. The staff named P’Nut was very helpful. Would love to go there again! Thank you very much ka

Phi Phi Cozy is good for couples or singles (adults). Its not good for families with children since its on a hill with uneven surfaces and very difficult to access with a child and/or a stroller. The rooms are pretty old design and not contemporary style. The resort is very close to the Au Dalam beach (5 min walk) which is a party beach with late night parties and "LOU...

We enjoyed our five days there and would certainly go back again. The room was clean, the mattress soft, the water hot, and the price affordable. The Bungalow is at the top of a somewhat long and steep path; you need strong legs to make the climb and even stronger legs to carry your luggage up there. So, the location is not "excellent." I couldn't find it on my GPS...

Hotel located in high spot from beach so hard to walk but view and location is amazing, peacful spot for relaxing. Once you walk out side room preffer not to come back until sleep time. Beach sarounded not very clean better to take a boat to long beach and spend the day for swimming. Staff are friendly and helpfull. So many choices for hotels on arrival to island as y...

Owner greeted us at port when our ship came in which was nice! Two bottles of beautiful cold water upon arrival! Yes the stairs are steep but me and my partner are moderately fit so its fine! Wouldn't wanna climb them drunk though! Best view of the whole island accross whole beach was amazing! We paid £36 for one night which is cheap for phi phi island (we booked nigh...

This hotel is just 30m to reach Ao Lo Dalum, very good location. But the room is a bit of small and mosquitos all around you. If you like the night bar, it is a good choice to order this hotel, because there's the night party everyday. But if you do not, then try to find others, the loud music won't stop until 2am...

increíble lugar, la habitación es muy amplia, hacen el aseo todos los días, el dueño es demasiado atento y preocupado por los huéspedes, no regalo agua y café todos los días. realmente muy recomendable!! Amazing place, the room is very spacious, they clean the room everyday. The owner is very kind and helpful. He gave us drinking water every day. I fully recommend sta...

My brother and I were only going to stay 5 nights but we liked the hotel so much that we stayed an extra night. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. There were about 5 staff in all and they all seemed to chip in the help with the running of the place. They were the most friendly and helpful staff that I have ever come across. They always had a smile on th...

Was a bit apprehensive going to Phi Phi with its party and overdevelopment reputation. But Kitty House with hosts Drei and Thip changed that all of that. Booked for 2 nights. Extended 3 more nights. Location is great - easy walking distance to town, but far enough away for peace. Porter to carry bags from pier. Room was large, cool, clean. Comfy clean bed. Nice warm s...

If you are first time on phi phi, call them and they will pick you up from pier! Hotel is veery tired, it had its best days but staff tries to push all the best from what's left, refurbish would make this place ideal, otherwise beds are old, as a bathroom condition, room has a small window to a street and interior lighting makes room quite dark! They try to make surrou...

we recommend to pre-book this destination online as it provides cheaper prices. within X-mass and NY holidays all the hotels are almost overbooked on Koh Phi-Phi so it becomes much more actual to have a pre-booked hotel room or bungalow before you get there. there are no cars and motorcycles on this island so the air is really pure. the food is outstanding whether...

great hostel. There's a bar next door with live music until about 2am, but it's pretty good music and you'll probably be out partying anyway. The hostel was comfortable and the staff wasn't the best but it's okay. They wouldn't turn the A/C off for us even though there were only three of us in the room and we were all cold. Then in the afternoon they turned it off...

There are no curtains to separate the beds so there's not much privacy. It's basically just a room with beds. There is no natural sun light which for some, isn't the best. The bathroom was a toilet/shower. There were two bathrooms so you never had to wait with only 8 people in the hostel. The noise is a bit much but I can sleep through anything if I have my mask and ea...

Good price at a great location-2 min walk from the party beach(Slinkys, stones) and not so loud at night. Big room for only 4 ppl, cold aircon(off at 12am-18pm) and pretty clean. No real common area for meeting people but just a table and a couple of chairs, so only if some group predrink it will be easy to join. Resturant is not the best.

The rooms are new and very clean, but quite small. There is not much space to put your bags and when you shower the bathroom gets completely wet. If you are looking for a basic and cheap (compared to other Koh Phi Phi prices, which are a lot higher than the rest of Thailand) place which is clean, this is were you should go. If you want a fridge, TV, toiletries, safe...

Overall it's a good place to stay if you consider the price regards the island. Still is not as quiet as I read in other reviews, as you cannot isolate yourself from the "party" if you are staying in town, but anyway I had a fair sleep. Basically depends on the people who stays there. First night the party at the reception kept going until further than midnight no mat...

A perfect location for everything. Very close to the beach, restaurants, travel and tours and bars.We really had a good time. I booked for 4 beds in the dormitory but was not available at that time so they transferred us to another room which is good for two, very nice and comfy they dont even ask for additional payment. I feel safe because they don't allow someone w...

I've stayed on the island many times now and have stayed in the best and worst phi phi has to offer. Phi Phi dream has to be up there with the beat. Its clean. Great team of staff. From the cleaners up to the owners. Great people. Rooms are cleaned every day. Rare for phi phi. Great to cone back to a fresh room after the beach. The hotel is located far enough away from...

I booked the 6-person dorm, but I'm pretty sure every room just has 2 bunk beds. Everything was clean, but you're bound to get sand in your bed at some point. You also get a locker that big enough for a small backpack. Hot showers. It's right in the centre so it's super noisy until 4am...so make sure you have good earplugs if you don't plan on partying until then! They...

We had a great time. Chai was very accommodating and friendly. We met some lovely people who we spent majority of our time on phi phi with. It was nice and quiet which is good for an afternoon nap before the next night of partying. Would stay here again for sure.

Best choice to stay here. It is at the top of a big hill but they take all your bags and give you a lift when you arrive. Afterwards they give you a lot of lifts but its not that bad, you get used to it. The location is much quieter than the main town Staff are incredible, so kind and helpful. Genuinely nice people. Free water tea and coffee :) Bungalows are basic bu...

This is by far the cleanest hostel I've been to. As it is brand new, the bathrooms are very, very nice! Fran is really friendly and helpful. Location is great! Do know it is on the Ao Lo Dalum Beach, THE party place on Phi Phi, so it is a bit noisy at night (but it was far less than what I expected). So if you're planning to have a good sleep, dont stay here (but may...

Great location, 5 minutes walk to Ko Phi Phi center, but very quiet place. Small but decent breakfast - two toasts with jam and butter, decent coffee and cheap juice. Optionally you can order extra food (i.e. pad thai for 50 THB) as it's a restaurant. The room had enough space with some shelves. Generally it was very clean, however our sheet had some old stains o...

We booked a room with aircon which is clearly written on the booking. And when we came to checkin, they said that we had to pay additional 150baht for the aircon. Even though it was not a lot of money, we feel a bit cheated. it did not help that the receptionist lady was rude. No customer service really.

The room was really clean, the A/C was working well and we could adjust the temperature as we needed. There was 24/7 security, so we felt safe. The staff was very nice. The best point was the location. It is a 1 minute walk from the beach and the best parties, but when you're in the room, you don't hear the music. You can also go back easily to go to the bathroom, othe...

We booked five nights here and ended up staying another three. The location was great...close enough to the action, shops, restaurants, beaches, and general fun, yet far enough away to avoid the noise (especially at night) and crowds. We stayed in a fan room. Highly recommend it. The view from the balcony was beautiful of both Tonsai Bay and Ao Dalum. It was won...

We were met when we got off the ferry from Railay by a member of staff who was very friendly and loaded our bags onto his trolley. We stayed here because we thought it would be quieter and less touristy on this side of the bay, but in fact the shops and agenst cover the whole area between Ton Sai and Lo Dalam, so the walk (which took 10 mins) was in vein. The resort ...

Great location, price was a bit high for the room/hotel quality but its Koh Phi Phi, so what do you expect. Would be good for budget travelers or people who want to party. Room is somewhat of a distance from party streets but the hallway window is missing so the noise travels through the rooms still. Would be much quieter if the hotel would just fix the window. No dail...

This place has a great location: it is down the beach from all the other hotels which means the water is much nicer here. The staff were really friendly, and we could hire kayaks straight from the hotel (it is a quick and easy trip to monkey bay where there is a lovely beach and some snorkelling). The rooms were clean, spacious and very nice for what we paid. We were t...

This is the best hostel in Phi Phi. Mr Singh (owner) is a true gentlemen and is always on hand to help you plan your day trips, give you advice on places to visit and give you water bottles after a heavy night of drinking. More about Ao Lo Dalam
This narrow isthmus is only about 150 meters wide. It’s easy to walk from Ton Sai Bay to Ao Lo Dalam, but these two crescent-shaped beaches maintain their own distinct styles. Ao Lo Dalam is quieter and has more resort-style accommodation onsite.
Beach chairs line the waterfront, and the water is so shallow that the tidal line retreats far into the bay at low tide. It’s pleasant here any time of the year, and tourists are likely to spend the entire day lounging on the beach or under a banyan tree, saving their energy for the after-hours scene.
Nightlife in Ao Lo Dalam is slow starting, but the hip bars on this side of the isthmus stay busy until late. Fire dancers entertain travelers with poi – fire twirling – displays outside bohemian beach bars, and guests lounge barefoot on the sand listening to live music.
Dining options include Thai seafood restaurants and a few hotel restaurants serving international fare. Accommodation in Ao Lo Dalam is perfect for anyone who wants to be close to bars and restaurants but prefers a quieter, more laid-back scene. To get here, take the ferry from Phuket or mainland Krabi, then walk or take a long-tail boat from Ton Sai Bay to Ao Lo Dalam.
