Worth your money! ”
I was backpacking with my friend, decided to get a cheap hostel for 2 nights in krabi since we were on a tight budget and we came across Ao Nang Backpacker. Decided to book 2 beds in a mixed dormitory. Room, beds, balcony, toilet, were all clean. Ample space to place our huge bags on the floor. Sufficient plugs. I found it very good that they had lockers for us to keep our valuables. The wifi was strong for phones and also laptops. Staff was very friendly, approachable and reliable. 👍 Hostel located on a great side of Ao Nang.
Feels like Home”
I have always been skeptical about backpacker hostel especially interms of cleanliness. So this time I decided to try it myself for the first time and I was quite satisfied. Ao Nang Backpacker is about 20mins walk to the beach but you can rent a bike from them directly and it only take you about 5 mins! Rooms are clean and safe to keep your belongings. Though there is only 2 bathroom to share with everybody, you dont really have to worry about the cleanliness. Best part of staying in this hostel, is that you get a chance to meet with other backpackers too and share lots of travel experience. And when you meet someone who has been staying there so many times, you know its a good hostel. I will definitely be back to stay here whenever I'm back to Ao Nang.
Cool friendly place, for young travelers”
we were supposed to stay originally for 2 nights, but we stayed 4nghts in total. ao nang backpacker is great place to stay, if you dont mind not being right on the beach(takes like 15 min walk or u can take tuk-tuk for 20 thb).i really enjoyed the atmosphere...very friendly people are running the place...one evening even served dinner for free for everybody(even people just passing by the hostel)-great party at the end...
this is best place for traveler with good location , friendly staff , comfort bed and cheaper price . But you shouldnt rent motobike from ao nang backpacker , its expensive ( 250 bath/ day ) you can rent near there with 150 bath/ day ! Just
Very nice and peaceful”
We really enjoyed our stay there ! The public room has a cool vibe, there's pillows and beds that you can relax on. There's even a tv with american movies. The dorm was very clean and there's a balcony that you can use for drying clothes. The only downside is the location, you have to walk 25 minutes to go to Ao nang beach
Worth a visit”
It was nice to be amongst fellow backpackers, Although the wifi had some lil snags now and then, but no complaints super friendly staff especially Saki (i hope i got the name correct) U might want to consider renting a bike to go to the beach or explore ao nang market and hotels!
Ao Nong Backpacker”
Stay was real good here. Clean rooms, comfy beds. Location is a bit of a walk to the beach, but most people rent scooters. I would definitely recommend Ao Nong Backpackers for your stay in Ao Nong.
All of stuff are kind , room is really clean and comfortable . near Ao nang beach around 3 kilometers you can walk to there , You can buy some ticket about trip with stuff
Superb stay at Ao Nang Backpacker ”
Nice location with nice facilities. Got free WIFI connection. The room was clean and comfortable. The best in Ao Nang in term of value for money. Recommended to stay.
Value for money”
Stayed from 5-10 Dec and surprisingly the service and location isn't as bad as the reviews I read. you can easily get transportation any time. You can walk about 20 mins to Ao Nang beach or take a motorbike taxi for 40-60baht. The white minivan will charge 20-30baht. You can rent a scooter from the hostel for 250 baht but I don't agree with them keeping our original passport. Perhaps rent a scooter for 200baht at the beach with only your passport copy. The room was clean and there were only 6 occupants at our female only room, so privacy is ensured. However we find the bed a bit hard. Other than that, we had our own bathroom in the room, and a very comfortable lounge area. There's also a pool table. You can easily find roadside stalls serving halal food. The receptionist was very friendly. We will definitely stay there again.
One of the best ever! ”
one of the best places i've ever stayed at. comfy and clean beds - clean bathroom as well. takes about 15 min to get to the beach and the staff is super nice! will recommend this one to everyone going to ao nang!
Great for a weekend stay”
I went away for a weekend trip to Ao Nang with friends. I don't usually stay in hostels as I don't care to share my space and bathroom with strangers. We only ended up sharing the room with strangers for one night. This hostel is not located in one of the busier parts of town, which is nice for noise. It is, however, on the main road, so it is easy enough to grab the songtaew outside and go down to the water front for a mere 20 baht. Or you can catch a motorbike taxi for about 60-80 baht. There are a 7-11 and a Family Mart as well as many little tuk shops within walking distance. A few small Thai restaurants (the nice, cheap, delicious kind that the locals would eat at) are also located nearby. We stayed in one of the female-only dormitories upstairs. Three bunk beds in the room didn't leave much walking around space. The mattresses were quite comfortable and spacious and the room was equipped with both a fan and air conditioning, as the air con is only available from 6pm-10am. Each bed is also assigned a locker(included) in the room to store your belongings, if so desired. There is a sign on the door that says what is included (sheets, blanket, pillow, and towel). However, towels were not actually provided, so make sure to bring your own. There is a spacious attached bathroom and also another common bathroom in the hallway. Downstairs is a large lounge with mattresses and cushions and a large television. Books and games are also provided. There is a nice front porch area to relax in with a pool table (which came in handy, as it rained most of the weekend). They keep a drink refrigerator stocked with beer and sodas and Breezers. The prices are actually quite reasonable. The staff will arrange tours for you as well as van pick-ups from the hostel. Quite convenient. All in all, I would definitely consider staying here again.
Clean, quiet and comfortable”
After a serious hangover it was a lovely place to freshen up and get some well needed sleep. A bit of a walk down to the markets and beach but we didn't mind, it kept us away from the club noise. Average size lockers for a small backpack. Plenty of showers and toilets, only had a few guests so they were never occupied. Not much atmosphere for partying but still got on fine with the girls in our dorm and helped us with our future travels. Would definitely stay here again as it was reliable, safe and most of all..clean!
It was alright”
The Good: The location of the hostel is its biggest plus point. You can access all local food shops and the great Aonang beach in just 15-20 minutes. For a budget hostel, it was impressive that the hostel provided AC in the rooms at night and also had hot shower. The front side cafe is a great place to relax and have a chit chat with other people from the hostel. The staff were friendly enough to provide necessary assistance and information. The bad: The washrooms are not clean that much, ants are there in the washroom and they do not clean it every day. Also the beds are not cleaned every day. One room has 30 beds stuffed into it, so it feels a bit congested. Conclusion: Well, you get what you pay for, so there is nothing much to complain about this budget hostel. It is good who backpackers who want to crash in for 2-3 nights but I would not recommend it for longer stay.
I had nice, relaxing week with my friends”
I had nice, relaxing week with my friends at Ao Nang, it was low season, but the service we got was great.
Nice environment. During my living, not so many guests, only 5 in the big room which may contain about 30 people, so it is quiet. It is clean an tidy and employees are kind there. If you are a backpacker, it will be a nice choice.
I stayed at this hostel because it was on the top of a backpacker hostel list. Originally I had looked at the iRest and ultimately ended up moving there. This hostel is fine - clean, wi-fi. There wasn't much in the way of food/drink, tour info, hang out space, etc. It's pretty much the basic of the basics. There are restaurants down the road in either direction. It quite a ways from the beach and all the nightlife, markets, tour bookings, moped rental, massage, etc... like almost 2 miles, not what I expected! I didn't pay the deposit to get a key card because reception was supposed to be open from 7am - 10pm. Well, I woke early and went out exploring. I came back about 7:30am and no one was there. I waited about 15 -20 min, had to go next door and ask to use the restroom, then decided to just leave for the day.
the staff were very friendly and helpful. ”
the staff were very helpful and friendly. very clean backpackers with a very nice large bathroom
quiet, a lot of young poeple, many tourists”
It was great. I ve Seen a lot oft things. The Beach is beautiful and i ve met a lot of very nice Backpacker.
We (3 friends) stayed for one night. We were just looking for cheap accommodation for a night on the way to Phi Phi Island. We stayed in a large open-style dorm room. There were lockers for valuables (300baht deposit). The place was very relaxed. People can hang out in the dorm, or in the t.v/lounge room, or out the front there is a small bar area with a pool table. The rooms were air-conditioned. Location is about a 20 minute walk from the beach but its a nice walk with lots a bars and restaurants along the way. Happy Customers - great value for money.
