Ao Num Mao Bay hotels & places to stay

Everything was beautiful and convenient... I recommend taking the ride to Ao Nang Beach its about a 10-15 min drive and about 300 Baht (approx. 10 bux each way or their free shuttle that runs a few times a day) for night life, restaurants and a downtown area with live music and massages. There is a local restaurant about 2kilometers away (5min ride) the hotel will rave about and it is honest. :) I don't like being in the middle of hustle and bustle so I like that the hotel is tucked away but isn't far. The breakfast that is included has tons of options. I would def recommended eating lunch and dinner outside of the resort for best bang and flavor for your buck.

I've lived in Thailand for 4 months now and have traveled all over from Mae Sai to Ko Ngai. Resorts, bungalows, hotels, airbnbs, condos - of all this, Tama is my best find. This hotel is clean and modern. I saw complaints that it's location is bad but it's away from the noise unlike most hotels in Ao Nang. Just rent a motorbike anyway(the front desk will give you keys for 300b per day)! It's the best way to see the area. Staff is nice. Included breakfast is great. Swimming pool is top class. Rooms are clean, modern, comfortable. Everything I need. Highly recommend.

We were very pleased with our stay here. We arrived late evening and the staffs were really friendly and helpful with the check in process. The hotel is a relatively new hotel so the condition of the building is really new and well maintained. The hotel swimming pool is really big and clean, we had a splash in the swimming pool. The family rooms are huge along with the bathrooms, everything really exceeded our expectations. Breakfast definitely could be improved, not really a lot of varieties, mostly the same thing everyday. Also, the hotel is about 15 minutes away from Ao Nang and you cannot walk to Ao Nang for sure. You have to take a tuk tuk which is provided for free every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, after 4 p.m., you have to pay for the tuk tuk and it can get a little costly if you keep going back and forth to Ao Nang. There are a lot of hotels in the Ao Nang strip as well so if you are planning on spending a lot of time in Ao Nang, you should just stay there. Seashell Resort is nearby the Ao Nam Mao pier and away from the busy Ao Nang so it's a great place to relax. Despite the downfalls, I would definitely stay again in Seashell Resort Krabi if I were to visit Krabi again in the future! We went a group of 8 friends. The villa is fantastic clean, spacious, fully equipped kitchen, private tuk tuk, private pool. The staff were beyond good, Sara the coordinator was super helpful, they even lent us a mobile phone so we could call her if needed, and out tuk tuk driver Pong was punctual and always had a smile! We hired a private chef for dinner and breakfast and it was the best meals we had the entire trip. Highly recommend them!

The Thip is off the main strip of the more populated and tourist area of Ao Nang. It is a good 10 minute local bus ride from Ao Nang, which we were actually quite pleased with. During busy season, Ao Nang gets many tourists, but our hotel was situated out of town and more among local people living. What a fantastic smaller hotel, with spacious lobby, excellent restaurant, and wonderful pool and garden areas. Hard beds, but that has been our experience in Thailand in general. Staff very kind and supportive, and the owner very professional. A great pool with jacuzzi jets in a small portion. Jacuzzi not like western jacuzzi's, as it is a part of the pool at same pool temperature. Rooms have a balcony, and street side is ok view. Ao Na Mao Pier is walking distance, and terrific fun to take a longtail boat from there to Railay Beach (Phranang the best!) for day trips. Stunning limestone mountain ranges and picturesque waters at Railay/Phranang....a must see! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great for families as is a quieter and smaller location!

I wouldn't call it a resort, it's a quiet little hotel about 20mins drive away from Ao Nang (main attraction of Krabi). Frequent shuttle bus service provided by hotel free of charge. Our stay was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged a day trip to Phi Phi islands for us which was the highlight of our trip. The restaurant serves Thai food and a few international choices. Very nice and very decently priced. There is a small bar that serves nice cocktails too. Rooms and toilets were very clean, large and comfortable. Note 1: Don't be fooled by the name, there is no actual beach at this hotel, but shuttle bus is provided to Ao Nang. Hotel does have a nice pool. You can get food and drink served to you by the pool. Note 2: Don't pay extra for a "Superior Sea View Room". All the rooms seemed the same to me. Note 3: Last shuttle bus leaves from Ao Nang at 9:30pm. If you miss it you will have to catch a taxi for a few hundred Bhat. Note 4: Hotel offers airport transfer @ 500 Bhat per trip. Call ahead and arrange for convenience.

We stayed with a group of 8 persons. The most attraction is the huge swimming pool, and it is deep enough for dive. The villa is big, bright and comfortable, especially the poolside chairs. The staff is nice & very helpful. They provided us a free tuk tuk to the beach from 9:00 - 20:00. You may call anytime and drop down everywhere. But some of bulbs were out of order, and the rooms are too big without furniture, besides bed & one wardrobe. I suggest that it is better to finish all maintenance before guest check in.

Our group of six adults (and two young kids) are generally happy with our stay. However the villa does have not have a door latch or lock from inside the main door. Anyone with villa key can come in. Villa staff walked into the house unannounced more than once. A caucasian staff came to set the villa wifi password on the second day. When we checked with the assistant villa manager Sara, she insisted there is no wifi password(as she mentioned during check-in). To add insult to injury, the caucasian staff gave the wrong wifi password :( It was resolved only much later. The good: Well-equipped kitchen, plates, glasses, washing machine and dryer. Top marks for equipments. Welcome fruit basket. Mobile phone for convenient calls to Chai/Sara. Nice private pool with working warm jacuzzi. Easy to operate BBQ burner, buy own groceries from nearby supermarkets. Nice beach view Complimentary airport transfer Complimentary mini-van rides to Aonang beach area Two supermarkets accessible nearby with mini-van Friendly driver Chai, let him know what are you looking for, he will help you. Variety of TV channels, TV sets in all rooms expect master bedroom. The bad No inside lock to main villa door. Faux windows blinds are mostly non-functional and cannot be rolled-down for privacy. Next villa is very close to our villa. Reported to maintenance but still not working at end of stay. The mini-van is bad for elderly folks with leg/knee issues, need to climb up the high steps to seat at the back of the minivan No TV in the master bedroom, there is a separate entertainment room. Inner water pool not cleaned everyday. Urine stench detected on main sofa. Other notes: Sara (our assigned villa manager) is very helpful. Booked our tours quickly. She helped to arranged additional child proof measures on stair case railings. She is responsive to our calls with exception on the first evening right after our check-in, she did not respond to our calls(going off perhaps?) until much later. Mai

My group of 5 stayed at the Beach House in Krabi in June 2018. The facility can sleep up to 10 people comfortably and they would have the entire resort to themselves. The star of the Beach House is the open air dining room and adjacent kitchen. The location offers great privacy and the staff, led by Assistant Manager Sara, was simply excellent. The Beach House is approx. 15 minutes from Ao Nang Beach and they offer free transportation to and from. It is highly recommended that you arrange for their staff to cook a full breakfast daily for your party and at least once to have them prepare a complete soup-to-dessert supper during your stay. My one recommendation for The Beach House would be to install a clothes washer and dryer for use by the guests. The only drawback, and it is a minor one, is that the stretch of beach at the property is not conducive to swimming. This is simply a fabulous resort for a small group or extended family vacation.

Dawn of Happiness is in my opinion the best for a quiet, solemn, relaxing beach holiday! I booked for 3 nights but I extended my stay for another 2 nights! The accommodation is very simple but the beach is divine! Local food is available in the Ao Nam Mao center direction Ao Nam Pier, which is 8 minutes walk from the beach (I would suggest walking at the beach)! The owner is always very helpful and friendly! It makes one feels like part of the family! I will difinitely come back and this time with the whole family! To the owner, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the awesome place!!! Minviluz

We use to come to ao nang every year, and this year was absolutely our best stay ever. Due principaly to the quality of the rooms for an extremely cheap price, so we booked for 20 nights. And we realise that was not enough, if we could stay more, we would do for sure! benefits: - staff extremely nice, friendly and helpful. The responsible of the hotel is always ready to do the imossible to help you. For example, we missed the local bus in ao nang and she came to pick up us for free. - rooms very clean and big, large balcony, fast internet, very quick and good room cleaning - nice gardens with beautiful flowers, you have plenty of tables where you can eat - just 5 minutes to the pier to go to railey beach (60 bahts per person per way against 100 bahts from ao nang) - the pier has a very nice scenery, just walk to the right along the sea, this is great - I advise you to have your own transportation: car or motorbike. Because the hotel is about 10 minutes driving from the crowded ao nang and 25 minutes to krabi city center. Anyway, you can still take the white local songtaew minibus, departure every 15 mins from the hotel: 20 bahts to ao nang, 30 bahts to krabi city, but notice the service stops around 7.30pm (good for daytime) - if you like local food, you can find plenty of small local restaurants around the hotel and the pier. Otherwise, you'll have to go to ao nang or krabi town if you 're looking for western food and good bars. - the location is very 'local', you'll be probably the only one farang in the village but that's great, people is really more friendly there than in ao nang. Drawback: a bit far from the city, but if you have your own transportation, it's not a drawback at all (just 10 mins driving to ao nang) CONCLUSION: If you re looking for very cheap and cleans rooms ,good staff ,15 minutes by boat to railey ,quiet location,far from the touristic jungle in a lovely fisherman village , THIS HOTEL IS REALLY FOR YOU!

One cannot expect the equivalent services of a 5* hotel as this is a villa. However, the Staffs: Mr. Keng (Manager) was very helpful to fulfil our needs. He arranged for private Thai Chefs to come and cook dinner for us, it was simptious and delicious. The driver, Mr. Chai helped to take us to town with a small fee, it was perfect. We liked the location as it was quiet, and it was only a 15mins drive to go into Ao Nang town centre. Our stay was great as expected with the Thais hospitality. Thank you Mr. Keng and his team!!!

Rimlay Villa Review Booked a last minute two day break for me and my girlfriend staying over a Thursday and Friday night. We booked via the Agoda.com website at a very good rate. We had emailed in advance and a taxi was organized by the hotel to pick us up from the airport and bring straight to the hotel (charge 600 thai baht) which is the standard rate from the airport to the the hotel location area. First things first location. This hotel is NOT located at Ao Nang but is slightly more northwest, but it is approx 7-10 minute drive from the main Ao Nang waterfront area, but the location is still perfect bliss, its located on the beach which is picturesque, yet there is a significant tidal change but it is still a quiet and a wonderful setting from where you can stroll or jog up and down the clean and tidy beach at your leisure. Owing to its slightly isolated location perhaps renting a moped or motorbike from a nearby rental shop to get around without needing to get taxi and give you some independence. The hotel has daily drop offs to the Ao Nang area at no extra cost. The rooms are immaculately clean and very well maintained. Rooms have tv with Fox, BBC and local thai channels. There is Wi Fi around the entire hotel area. Rooms have fridge, tv, air con, safe and other standard facilities. Some room rates include a nice breakfast which is served at the reception area which is standard and tasty and the perfect size to start your day. Staff are amazingly helpful and friendly and are willing to help with any request. They made the staff very enjoyable and were willing to help us find and book day excursions with the various tour companies. They really made the stay very enjoyable. Want a perfect romantic or chill out weekend away from the hustle of Ao Nang. Rimlay Villa is perfect!! Can't wait to go back

The Krabi Tropical Beach Resort was just what we were looking for--right on the water, but not a big resort. The accommodations are very clean and comfortable, the pool area is very well kept and comfortable, and the location is an excellent balance of quiet and outside the Ao Nang or Krabi town busy area but readily accessible to both areas, and with direct access to the very quiet beach in Ao Namao. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and we very much enjoyed our stay.

These hosts obviously put a lot of effort into customer service, especially what i presume was the owner, which was very nice. They made you "feel at home" and relax. The room we got was nice aswell, not too small, and the bathroom was good enough. One thing missing in the room was sun proof curtains, hopefully something they will fix, seeing that it wakes you when the sun rises. The hotel is a litte far from town, so walking is not an option, but they provide a free taxi service at certain hours throughout the day until 5PM which is a very nice offer, they also provide the taxi service outside those hours for Just 50Baht per person, cheap cheap. There's a restaurant and bar in the lobby that serves good food and cheap beer. For the price you pay it's really worth it, and the staff makes up for whatever's lacking. They even let us take the hotel towels to the beach. In other words, I really recommend this place :)
