"To really enjoy this island you need a motorbike. The accomodations are good with friendly staff but the grounds are filled with mobile antennas not the most picturesque grounds. The breakfast is a buffet style and I found it adequate to start the day. I found that the staff have limited English but tried their best to help."

"I have just finished my stay at Koh Kood Beach Resort and simply put... It is paradise!!! I live in Thailand and had my family come to visit so took them to Koh Chang for 10 nights then onto Koh Kood for 5 nights.... It is the best island I have been to so far in Thailand and to this date the best place I have ever seen! It is set in beautifully kept gardens, full of coconut trees. The pool is of large size and overlooks the sea... It is amazing in every way view wise. And you know what they say: Location, Location, Location! It is set in the most stunning surroundings I have had the privilege to stay in... It was that nice the day I arrived back in Bangkok I booked to go back again in April."

"this is I think the best hotel I have been to. Everything about it is perfect if you are looking for calm, peaceful holiday. The staff is simply amazing, always looking that you have what you need with great professionalism. Always ahead of your needs: waiting for you outside your door the day of check out to carry your luggage, proposing that a member of staff comes with you to the hospital to translate, etc etc. The food at the restaurant is really good. the breakfast is amazing +free homemade snacks everyday in the afternoon, free water, tea, coffee and bread all day long, free kayak, snorkeling material, The beach is simply amazing, making you dive straight into the postcard! The hotel only has like 15 private bungalows. The hotel was full when we were there and yet, always the impression that there are only 5 ou 6 people in the hotel ! I recommend the Pool Villa because it adds privacy to your holiday, making you feel right at home and alone with private little swimming pool and 1st floor outdoor living room to stand in the sun ou read a book in the hamac. Thank you to Alek the bartender for his fabulous signature cocktails, and his nice evening chats! I hope that I will come again, and will recommend this hotel to my friends and family if they want to go to thailand!!!"

"Don't book this if you want a luxury holiday - as with everything in life you get what you pay for. If you're a family on a budget or you've done a bit of backpacking in your time and you want something a little more upmarket than a fan bungalow, then this would be good choice. The rooms are not as big as they look in the photo - pretty cramped and there is a smell of damp- but it has everything you need, TV, AC, fridge. The bathroom is the smallest one ever- more of a splashroom - and the water is COLD. Don't stay here if you like hot showers. It was Songkran and we were pretty hot so didn't mind too much. The garden is lovely - full of rubber trees, flowers and butterflies. The staff don't speak a lot of English but enough to get by. They really wanted to help and cooked us breakfast for free every morning even though according to the booking it wasn't included. They organised motorbikes for us to rent - if you stay here you will probably need to do this to get the beaches and explore the island. The owner even rang us in the evening to check we were OK as it looked like it was going to rain so they are very caring staff. They run a restarurant next to the bungalows so easy to get good food - instant coffee is free from there. We came from Koh Mak and the speedboat dropped us off at the wrong landing but I got a local to call them for us and they picked us up very quickly. If going by speedboat get them to drop you off at the pier on Ao Ban Mad for the Ko Kood Beach Resort & Suanya Resort and then ring the hotel to collect you from there. You could walk but its a long one up hill. Alternatively if you get Koh Kood Express ferry to the island from Laem Sok on the mainland they offer a free taxi service to your hotel and they know where the hotel is as they picked us up when we left. All in all good value for money but only stay there if this is the driving force. "

"If you love to experience the activities at the beach/sea, I highly recommended Captain Hook. The staff is SUPER friendly and they do MORE than their job, (TRUST ME! it's not because of tips but they have their value of service mind!) We stay in Pool Villa room. We loved it! The panorama view from the sea and the pool is in front of our room. We love the way that hotel create the room which is friendly with nature. If you are not prefer the room is more modern so book the mini pool modern, instead. Kayaking, snorkeling, REAL swimming in the sea with the staff are what we really love it here. We bought 2 days and 1 night package and we really love the food! fresh and delicious...the food can be too much! but it's great for people who love to experience different type of foods. We definitely stay here again, if we come back to Koh Kood. "
