It's only a 2-minute walk from the underground shopping area at Hiroshima Station, so you don't have to worry about carrying heavy luggage up stairs. The exterior and front of the building have an old feel, but the rooms are clean. Especially the water facilities and the bath have many shelves where small items can be placed, which is particularly pleasing for women. The staff are also very friendly and their lovely smiles were very soothing.

Nice Staying at APA Hiroshima-Ekimae!”
Perfect location. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the JR Hiroshima train station in front and with view of the Enko River. The room is small, like most rooms in Japan, but clean and comfy with all the conveniences. The room included a good buffet breakfast The staff was always very friendly and attentive. We receive a room upgrade when checking-in, which was really nice!. Easy check out. The only comment would be that there is no cable TV and you can find only 5 or 6 channels, obviously in Japanese and not very interesting. But we realized that it was the same in ALL the other hotels we stayed in in other cities in Japan. So, it's better to bring your Roku or lots of movies or series on your tablet or laptop. This was my only experience staying in an APA hotel, even though they can be found all over Japan. The room was small, as is standard in Japan, but as a solo traveller was fine. The staff were friendly but spoke little to no English, although were extremely helpful nonetheless. The hotel is in a good location, there is underground access to Hiroshima station right at the end of the street, which is the main reason I stayed here as I wanted easy access to the train to Miyajima early in the morning. It's a 30 minute walk or so to the Peace Park and Castle area, although public transport from the station (as usual in Japan) is superb. There is a food court on the 11th floor of the shopping centre next to the hotel that has great views and decently priced eating options.

The rooms, rather my room was nice, excellent view, and I could open the window. The only reservation I have has more so to do with the room temperature. Outside of that perfect stay.
