Small room but nice onsen”
The room is very small but the in-house onsen makes up for it.
Onsen is a big plus”
The in-house onsen is a nice feature for this hotel.
Although the room is a bit small(even by Japanese standards),, with some ingenuity there is just enough room for your luggage as long as you travel light. Strong WiFi signal, but I could not get CNN on the tv. The restaurant staff is absolutely wonderful, and the food there is excellent.
Value for money”
The hotel is perfectly positioned in Kyoto for travelers. You can walk to the station and local restaurants, shops. We traveled on trains as well as taxi to visit local tourist attractions and the location of the hotel helped. The hotel is nice and pleasant but the rooms were very small and hardly with any views. It will only be recommended if you are on a budget travel plan.
Clean, good location, newly renovated ”
Will stay at Apa hotel again for next visit , the hotel is newly renovated, and walking distant from jr station( have gate from big C) just 3 minutes from hotel
Great value for money”
It is slightly further away from kyoto station but still accessible by foot. However there are not much restaurants nearby so you have to rely on the convenient shop. The public bath is certainly a plus.
Friendly staff, good location. ”
It is a brief walk from Kyoto station to this hotel. While the hotel is not located in the heart of tourist attractions, the trains and busses that depart from the station can get you to where you want to go. The hotel is located next to a couple of convenience stores, along with an array of restaurants dotting the area and under the train station. It is a clean hotel, with friendly staff, and while you are there definitely try the public bath!
I'd recommenced this hotel....I really enjoy my time while I stay here.I love this hotel and looking forward to come back again
Beware, Room is extremely small. ”
I got a shock when I saw the room size. I went down and asked the front desk what’s the room size and they told me 9-10 sq meters. No wonder now when I search, they don’t display the room dimensions. Was pretty upset. For two people, it’s very hard to move. Good luck with two big luggages. Won’t be wanting to suffocate myself again at this hotel.
Small rooms but bearable”
Location is about 10mins slow walk to major train / bus terminal. Just beside 7-11, good for any sort of traveller. Opposite a fantastic cafe. Has its on Onsen on the top floor - no tattoos allowed. Staff were helpful enough. Clean rooms daily. Near malls as well and near local sights. Verdict - good for couples but painful for families due to size.
Great value and a convenient location but some drawbacks to look out for.”
Smoke smell in hallways and room. Air con function unavailable at night in cold weather - only has heating available, so you may need to open the windows. Overall great value if you just need a place to sleep. Well organised luggage storage if you need to run around after checking out. And a refill of toiletries and towels left outside your door if you are not in your room during the cleaning service.
Near Kyoto station”
Perfect for couple exploring Kyoto. It is very near Kyoto station, 10 minutes leisurely walk from the Kyoto station. The only problem is the room is a bit too small if you have medium and large luggage.
Convenient & Worthed it”
Hard to find a really cheap and good hotel in Kyoto. Must book hotel in Kyoto as it is so near the Kyoto Train station, good for those using JR pass and those taking bus around Kyoto. Don't forget to buy day pass for bus around Kyoto! (Only 500 JPY)
Another good option near JR station”
If you want to stay close to Kyoto Station, this hotel is another good option at a reasonable price. It takes only 5-7 minutes from JR Station (West Exit, walk in the direction of Big Camera). 7/11 is next door to the hotel.
High CP budget hotel ”
Location is perfect that it's just few minutes walk away Kyoto station. The rooms are so small but acceptable at such a low price. Hot spring is fantastic after long day walk. A ramp is suggested to be added for customers with luggages at the main entrance
Great value in Kyoto”
APA hotels are well known for their higher-end business hotels. It did not disappoint us. Rooms sizes are typical for Japanese hotels, i.e. please do not expect the luxurious 100sq feet rooms. However, our rooms cleanliness and the amenities provided were top notched. The location is further away from the busyness of Kyoto station, which can be a challange dragging your large bags over to and from the hotel. Note: if you are in need for a ramen fix, there are a few around the hotel. There is even a famous local halal ramen (Ayam-ya) joint accross the road from the hotel.
Good location and near ammenities”
The location is just behind another APA hotel and walking distance to Kyoto main station. The 7-11 store just next to hotel and easy access to get some snack after midnight. The washing machine and dryer can accommodate and limited unit when alot of people want to wash cloth. should put 3-4 more unit at centre area. The aircon during winter is killing me. Need to open the window only can feel abit cold. The air coming out from the aircon its hot and warm air not dry air.
Clean room, fast checkin checkout, nice staff, great location, poor wifi”
We stayed at APA Hotel Kyoto-Eki-Horikawadori for 2 nights. The room was tiny but clean and comes with all amenities we need. The wifi, however, was surprisingly poor! We think because the hotel have many rooms and many people were using the wifi at night so it was almost impossible to use the wifi from our room (no big deal since we got our unlimited 4g sim card but would be nice if the wifi actually work too). The location of the hotel is at walkable distance to Kyoto train station and the road was ok enough for dragging big luggages. Right next to the hotel there was familymart which was very convenience for us to get food and drinks.
Kyoto best hotel”
We stay 3 nights in this hotel. We are very happy to stay at this hotel. Located 700 meters from kyoto station. They have sauna and public bath. The public bath is very nice place to try japanese style ofuro and sauna. They have hot tube and cold tube to enjoy. The room is small but very clean. They always give us japanese style yukata everyday to sleep.
Very Good Location”
Very convenient and time saving as location is accessible to the travel hubs and tourists attractions. Hotel room is clean. Bed type is hard but it is fine for me as I am used to sleeping on hard bed. Though the room area is fine for single occupant, if u are someone who need more space, the room may b slightly narrow for u. My room has a window with view to the buildings window about 2 metre away. Thus I open the curtain only to see if it is rain or shine.
