A great value hotel in the center of Shinjuku”

This is my second visit of this great hotel in the center of Shinjuku and APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho still gave me a great 5-night stay during my visit to Tokyo. The hotel room is not big but good for a single traveler. It locates in the middle of Shinjuku, plenty of good restaurant just around the corner and the station is just 5-10 mins away. One of the most amazing experience during this stay was during my second morning of my stay, there was a fire incident on the 5th floor of the hotel, the hotel response quickly with the help from the hotel staff. All the guests were able to evacuate from the hotel without any injuries. I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and I will come back again during my next visit.

Excellent Location”

Very pleased with our 9 night stay at APA Hotel Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower! The best part of the stay was the great location (about a 5-10 minute walk from Shinjuku station). The rooms were very small which is expected in Tokyo but they were cosy, clean and very comfortable! Also as our room was on the 22nd floor which had an exceptional view of Tokyo city!

Very strategic hotel with many facilities”

Close to train station, many facilities, comfortable rooms

I traveled to Japan for business. I chose this hotel because I knew I could do some computer work from it and it was nearby the Shinjuku station. It met and beat my expectations in all good ways. The only problem I had there were two: 1) there is no coin laundry in the hotel, I had to walk for a while to find one (the hotel will provide you with directions); other APA hotels in this chain have a coin laundry inside the hotel which saves you some time. 2) The hotel is close to Shinjuku station but is also located in the middle of the Kabukicho red light district. Being a red light district in Japan there's nothing wrong with it, in fact it just adds a bit of atmosphere to the place. However, in that area you will be approached by touts, mostly Nigerians and Africans who want to sell you drugs or bring you to sex parlors. They can be very pushy and insisting, even if you have no interest at all in their "business". It's sad to see such people spoiling the otherwise calm, gentle and respectful manners of the Japanese people. Other than these two things I really enjoyed my staying at APA hotel. The hotel staff and the service delivered is flawless.

Extremely convenient and comfortable room”

I stayed with APA hotel for 12 days. Room is small but just nice for one person and very cosy. Bed is very comfortable and clean. There is housekeeping everyday. Location is in the heart of Kabukicho, surrounded by shopping malls, good food, convenient stores and train stations (Shinjuku st, seibu shinjuku st, shinjuku 3 chome st). Safe area, street is always crowded. Hotel frontdesk staff are very nice and friendly, mostly could understand and speak English, only trainers probably can attend to basic check-in check-out requests. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and will come back again if I am travelling alone.

Good Location, Plenty of Food & Entertainment Outlets ”

APA Shinjuku-Kabukicho Tower hotel is centrally located in the happening (red lights) district in Kabukicho,Shinjuku. There are 7-Eleven & Family Mart (local Japanese convenience store) within walking distance, less than 5 mins! Also there are good selection of other eateries, cinema, Pachinko slots & entertainment outlets within walking distance. Some of the eateries open til late. Do be advised that most shops & departmental stores (espc apparels) close at 8pm. The nearest Subway station is the Shinjuku Station - East Exit, which is around 10-15mins walk. If need any directions or use any of the JR / Subway lines, just ask any of the Information Counters (they are conveniently located) around the stations & most of the staffs are quite helpful and friendly [although they may reply you in Jap ;) ]. Rooms are clean & well equipped with amenities. Though bathroom & room may be a bit small in size (but that would pretty much be the same for most Japan hotels) but we're satisfied with the coziness. You won't be able to lay flat your luggage but it's OK. As long as bed is comfy (that's more important) coz that's what most of us look forward to after a long day out! Would definitely stay in this hotel (or Kabukicho area the least) for next visit as it is very vibrant at night. Easy access to food & public transportation & shopping.

Location, nice and clean rooms

There are many APA hotels so take note that this is KABUKICHO TOWER. The neighbourhood is abit sleezy but right next to Shinjuku so very convenient. Easy to walk to Shinjuku JR station and there is a 24 donqi around the corner. Many food options around as well. There is very affordable BBQ seafood shop around the corner. Look out for it!

Great location, easy access to JR Shinjuku station.”

We wanted to stay near to Shinjuku station but also be in the heart of the busy area. This we achieved by staying in the APA hotel Kabukicho. A little difficulty finding the correct exit from the station initially but easy thereafter. Well signposted with East exit and Kabukicho on the sign. Supposedly red light district but felt perfectly safe! Room small as expected but very well appointed, spotlessly clean and lovely helpful staff. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic location with many amenities in vicinity”

Hotel was easy to get to (more than one train station/line nearby). I liked that although it was in the heart of Shinjuku Kabukicho, it was in a somewhat quieter "corner" that is away from the crowd and vibrancy so we could enjoy the "privacy" and quiet. Getting necessities was easy as Family Mart is less than a minute walk across from the main entrance. The staff were helpful and friendly (aren't all Japanese like that?) and room was cleaned and replenished daily. We'll definitely book APA again.

Good location, friendly and helpful staff”

This is the second time I've staying in APA Shinjuku Kabukicho, overall it's a pretty decent business hotel. The only CON I can think of is the rooms are pretty small, you cannot fully open flat your standard 29" luggage . Staff are very helpful and always put up a smile, some of them are fluent in English, so communication is no problem as well. Location is very good too, 10 mins or 1KM to the Shinjuku JR station.

Great stay in Shinjuku”

Was my first time in Tokyo and I had a great stay in APA Kabukicho Tower as it is in the city center. Perfect for people who are into eating and drinking as it is surrounded by a LOT of restaurants and bars. Though there is a plaza within the hotel’s vicinity which could get crowded (especially weekends and night time) and filled with trash. Apart from that, it was a great stay. Was not able to enjoy their public bath at the 28th floor but would love to try it next time I visit.

Good for value.”

Good value, clean, bed is comfortable

The hotel itself was nice. I've stayed at another APA hotel before and liked it so I stayed at this one. The location is not as close to the Shinjuku station as I might have liked. Please note that Shinjuku station is really big and is actually served by JR, Tokyo Metro, and Todei Metro. The hotel is a good 10 minute walk from these stations. It is close to anther private line that I think is used by commuters. Anyway, the room was nice and the staff were helpful.

Everytime we travel to Japan we always checked in at APA Kabukicho, actually this is our 4th stay in this hotel, our first time stay here I was with my children, although quite expensive but the location is very good, the staff are respectful and accomodating, when we visit Japan again, we will still stay in APA Kabukicho I have two suggestions: 1. Please provide waiting area or a lobby that we could sit while waiting for our time to check in 2. Toilet Thank you so much

Good Location and Rooms, but deteriorated service”

As usual, this hotel has an excellent location situated at the centre of Kabukicho, right next to the VR Game Centre and the newly opened Tokyo Mystery Circus. Room is good and not pricey at all. However, one of the minor point is related to the room cleaning aspect, it used to be excellent with a Japanese expectation, such as folding our pyjamas nicely on the bed after cleaning, but this time our pyjamas are thrown onto the top of our luggage and found that a cleaning towel was left inside the room, a little bit of a surprise to that aspect, otherwise, it is a perfect hotel if you want to stay in Shinjuku area

Cosy Spot in Easy Walking Distance”

Whilst not right in the middle of Shinjuku, the walk to Kabukicho tower was easy and access was easy from the square outside. Check in was a really simple process and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but had all the amenities and was well laid out. Everything was impeccably clean and this continued with the housekeeping each day. It was fantastic having the private onsen on the top floor, with windows to look out over the city.

Professional hotel in very good location”

Location, cleanliness, and staff performance`

We stayed at APA for 3 nights are were very happy with our stay. It`s location is extremely convenient in central Shinjuku and is easy to find. Despite it being in a busy area, and from what we could see also being a very busy and popular hotel, the hotel and rooms are quiet and we were never disturbed. Despite the lobby being extremely busy and full of clients, our check-in was welcoming, professional, and smooth. The room was very small however it was clean and comfortable. The bed in particular was very comfortable. The public bath was also very clean and comfortable, and a very relaxing place to end each day. I am not sure I would rate the hotel as 4-stars however I have no major criticism. If the rooms were more spacious it may well deserve that rating. However, as they are restricted for space yet also chosen to squeeze-in a lot of rooms it somewhat reduces the feeling of ease and comfort. Overall however, it is a very good hotel and good value for money.

Solo 1st time adventurer in JP ”

This APA hotel is in a great central location of Shinjuku, and in heart of Kabuchiko, an awesome busy location. If you are a 1st time Japan traveler, pack light. I was laughing at couples each with a huge suitcases...I seriously don't know how they fit in the room! The room was very cozy (small) but I found it very relaxing. Traditional JP bath on top floor was a nice feature. Everything was clean, well maintained. Also bring cash, not much ATM options anywhere. Sweet Virtual Reality place next door, tons of food and bar options nearby. Cafe in the hotel.

Quick 2 night stay in Tokyo”

My 18 yr old son and I, stayed in Tokyo for just 2 nights. This was our first time being in Tokyo and wanted to experience the busy of Tokyo. It seemed like Times Square on steroids. We had a great time walking around, the area always felt safe, very busy. The only negative to the hotel is how close it is to some of the seedier side of Shinjuku, you don't really notice it except for the guys that stand in the middle of every intersection and ask, i think mainly because we were white tourists, would ask if we wanted massage or more. Outside of having to deal with them, and they weren't to aggressive, we absolutely loved our time in Tokyo. The hotel was clean, enjoyed the spa and a very seamless hotel experience. I would stay here again. Thank you

Nice Hotel, Bad Location”

The Hotel itself is very nice. Clean rooms, a very nice bath and the staff is terrific. The only negative is the location. It's on the edge of Kabukicho, the old redlight district. Shinjuku is pretty cool during the day. Every night, however, I had to walk though a gauntlet of African men trying to solicit me into going with them to a skeevy bar where I'd be ripped off. The public pa even broadcasts warnings about these guys. The first night, I was irritated. The second night, I was pissed off. In addition to that, every morning, the small square in front of the hotel is where the homeless drunks like to congregate. Oh, and I can't forget to mention to hookers hanging around. One solicited me...in the elevator. Next year, I'll stay in Shibuya.
