Very good budget hotel”
Located about 600 m from Luzern train station, near Kapellbrucke. We booked a room for 4. We reached the hotel at 10:30 a.m. well before the check in time. The reception staff was very very friendly and helpful. I must say that I have never seen such accommodating staff. He checked us in at 11 a.m. as we had train bookings from 12 noon onwards. Room was very good. Almost new linen. TV was available though we never used it. There was an attached kitchen. You can get some utensils (pans, knife, chopping board, cloth, liquid detergent...) for a refundable deposit of 20 francs. Cups, cutlery are available in the kitchen. Housekeeping lady was very very friendly and always smiling. She promptly clean the room and God the towels for us. You need to carry your own shampoo. Hotel is very near Co-op store. Though not very big but I will certainly recommend this place. Comfortable stay.
Excellent Overall Service”
I was a bit worried the first time coming to Luzern as a solo traveller. Arrived at Luzern Hbf late in the evening, fortunately the hostel’s location is just a few minutes away from the station. The room was quite decent, with bathroom and kitchen on each. It is probably the best hoste in town with great value for money, especially if your traveling on limited budget around Switzerland.
Good hotel and friendly staffs that help us a lot for any recommendation and facilities provided. Hotel is in a old town area that the road was still be on pave or rock that hard and tough to drag a luggage from Luzern train station to hotel. My luggage's wheels almost crack!
Highly recommended ”
Location of the hostel is just around 10-15 minute walk from the main station, and it’s near the major tourist spots in Luzern. What I also liked is that our room has an adjacent room where the kitchen, toilet and luggage area are. So, we can eat, fix our stuff etc. in there without disturbing those people sleeping in the other room. Plus, staff is very accommodating to my queries and requests!
Walking distance to the pretty Chapel Bridge! ”
The hotel is located within the old town area, within walking distance to the beautiful Chapel Bridge. The staffs were friendly and the room is cozy enough for three of us. There are stoves and fridge in the room - will be really great if one or two pots/pans could be provided so that we have an option to cook, otherwise it's kind of a waste to have the stoves cos we didn't have the utensils. The room that we got was the attic part of the building with slanted ceiling - some parts are really low so if you are tall, be careful not to knock your heads on the ceiling! We thought some parts of the floor was a bit dusty too. but it wasn't such a big deal for us. There are some eateries nearby so it's convenient. All in all, we had a decent stay for a night in Lucern!
Big room with breakfast, Great location”
it located above a Japanise Mashida restaurant which run by the same owner. My room is divided in to 3 session, Bedroom, kitchen and Bathroom, spacious. Kitchen is fully equip and need to paid deposit of CHF20 for the equipment. A few door away is Coop supermarket or you may walk to old town. You can buy your ingredient. Bed is comfortable. We walk from the Lucern train station across the main bridge. if you looking for short cut, used the 3rd bridge which is less crowd. Breakfast is adequate serve from 6.30am to 9.30am. Strongly recommend this hotel.
small room, but with kitchen in the room and fridge. can get the cooking equipment from the reception. toilet his big in the room too. roomand toilet is very clean. staff is very nice! nice location in the old town which is convenient to go everywhere. super fast Wi-Fi! the breakfast is too expensive! not recommend. typical European breakfast: bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee ....
Best location to explore the city”
Location is key. Right in the middle of old town Lucerne. Allowing us to explore both day and night. The room has no a/c which is not an issue in the winter. Leaving the window open helps with air circulation. The heated towel rack allows for a warm bathroom which is a plus. The beddings specifically the cushions can be improved as they felt flimsy and uneven. Reception service is quick and efficient.
Nice location with hotel missing some basics”
Location was good, reasonably spacious, and the price was reasonable. On arrival at hotel, no one in reception. The other people called emergency contact number and no answer. On the desk it said to call 822 which unbeknown to all of us was an internal number to use on the phone on the other side of the desk. Unfortunately the other guest inadvertently hit the fire alarm thinking it was a bell for reception. Took over 1/2 hour to check in. The girl that arrived at reception to start her shift was very helpful. Owner not so much - obviously not happy about the fire alarm, but left reception unmanned as he was also running his restaurant downstairs. Aparthotel is also missing some basics such as: • Kitchen with kettle but no tea or coffee. • Family room, but insufficient plates and cups, but only 2 seats for dining table. • No detergent or tea towels to wipe dishes with. (Detergent only if you got the kitchen kit). Some small attention to detail would improve experience a lot.
Good hotel in the old town”
Its a good hotel located right at the old town. Good walking distance to the lake and the train station. Though we have a bit issue due to the system issue, my booking was showed up for only one person instead of two. They kindly upgraded me to triple room located the attic ( though it's pretty useless as we don't use the third bed). Also the bed actually is too soft for our taste and the double bed is actually two twin bed connected into one.
Great hotel, right in the middle of attractions. ”
Great location! But beware if you bring in car to Luzern, the parking cost will be very expensive! 45 chf for 2 days.
Good location, too many stairs!”
Room and its price is good. Location is good, right in the middle of old town, close to attractions and train station. Our room is 603 the biggest one but it is the attic. In addition to the welcome 3-step stairs, the lift can go up only to the 5th floor. It is not luggage friendly if you stay on the 6th. It could be better if the hotel provides kitchenware like pan, pot.
Good Hotel Near Chapel Bridge and Train Station”
The hotel is in the center, about 500 m. away from Luzern Train Station and quite comfortable. You can leave luggage before checkin and after check out. Price is affordable.
Very clean hotel, comfy beds, spacious, warm, good shower, central location and everything as in photos Only 2 glasses, no saucepan for hob, no sharp knives in kitchenette. Lift very small. We didn't, have breakfast due to early checkout.
Convenient location in old town, about 15min walk (with luggage) from the train station. Decent room with kitchenette/mini fridge and bathroom/toilet. Value for money.
The room is quite small, and there is no light inside the room, which is quite dark. The lock of my bathroom is broken, which is inconvenient for us who share the room. The service is average, nothing special but sometimes there was no one in the reception and the phone there was not able to be called. Sometimes it would be quite noisy as it is near the attractions. The location is good, it is in the old town and near the train station and attrations for around 15-20 mins walk. But the ground in old town is inconvenient for those who carry suitcases.
Breakfast is just bread and cereals”
About 10-12 mins walk from Luzern station. However, there are some small stairs to climb if you want to take the shortest route. Part of the walk in distance is not good as it’s covered with mosaic stone path. Breakfast is just bread and cereals. We had better breakfasts in Zurich where we paid lesser money per night. Some staffs don’t speak english very well. However, overall we had a good stay. Won’t mind staying again here although will agree it’s slightly over-priced.
Needs a good clean”
After reading some recent reviews we were dreading staying here, it has a few good points - location great, good fridge, and bedding looked clean, but we read a recent review about bed bugs, luckily we didn't experience this but the room next door was getting fumigated the whole 3 days we were there!! We had room 501 and was very quiet despite being in the centre of Old Town, but was very hot, no air con but the fan supplied was quite good. It is very basic (even for a 3 star), it is advertised as an apartment, but if you want to self cater there are no cooking utensils supplied (not even a tea towel), you can pay a Sfr.20 deposit and get some from reception, not sure what is included as we ate out. We had a horrible large brown stain on one of the velvet chairs so sat on the bed and the floor had quite a few hairs. We had breakfast included, but there was a 'problem' with the breakfast room so they refunded Sfr.10 each per day.
Was disappointed with the wrong info given”
I was emailing the hotel half a month before i travelled to luzern about breakfast and the reply was my room rate included bf. Happily go down to a 'breakfast roomh(theres a actually a sign!!!) but was informed by the Japanese Auntie they don't serve bf! If i could choose again i definately will get a hotel near the train station without so much husso dragging the luggage up down the stone road! Its a beautiful city and i will definately go again but book other hotels instead!
The hotel is smacked right in the heart of the city, very very accessible to the major sights. We were wandering around the city once and lo and behold, reached our hotel after making a huge circle. Many food eateries around. The jap cafe right downsides is value for money. Entire city closes at 7pm so start your day early. Hotel facilities are good with a tiny kitchen, fridge, stove, table and chairs. Beds are a little small but comfortable. The only downside was the window for our room opened to a restaurant below and loud talking and laughter could be heard. Problem was solved after windows are closed - may be an issue for summer. Fan was provided after request.
