Bullies, Crooks, and completely unprofessional. This hotel should be blacklisted!”
We had a mini hostage situation with this hotel. Despite having paid the entire hotel charges (82k!) in advance, Aparupa Sands Marina demanded additional 8k rs or else we couldn’t have our rooms! Nor could we have our money back. Its a shame such hotels are published on Agoda because they have bullied other customers in the past as well based on reviews on the web. This is how it all happened. I paid the 50% advance (41k), then received an email mentioning I had to pay 12k for a gala dinner. I explicitly refused. No answer for 3 months, and I paid the rest of the hotel charges in advance (total 82k). Just before the day of our arrival, this gala dinner became a “mandatory dinner” and a “hotel policy”. Having coerced us into paying this, the food was TERRIBLE, also the breakfasts the following days. Complete ripoff. This hotel has a complete gunda-raj, with several different ways of coercing money out of its guests. Do not stay there!

Havelock Island is expensive compared to mainland India. By Havelock Island standards this hotel offered everything you would expect in this piece bracket and everything was delivered with a smile. We had a fabulous time and would recommend.
Haven of tranquility at the beach”
I felt welcome from the very first arrival. The staff go out of their way to make you feel home and help with all travel arrangements. The resort was opened in Dec 2014 and is new and shiny. The interiors of the cottages are in dark, beautiful woods and elegant and tasteful. The bathroom is on western standard and has functioning hot water. Untypically for India, this place really is a sanctuary if you are looking for quietude and a relaxing stay. There is no noise from the street. The resort is directely at the narrow beach No 2. It is a mangrove beach and when there is low tide it is difficult to get into the water but you can always swim if you take a little walk down the beach. The dogs on the beach are lovely but no one cares for them. They are very thin. Please be generous and feed them.
