Great budget hotel to stay
This hotel is near Komtar. You can go everywhere very easily as Komtar is also the bus terminal. Staff is very helpful and the room is clean. Room is a little smaller than I though but that's not a problem. And rooftop of the hotel is cool, you can see beautiful view over there and can bring beer to chill out. If I come to Penang next time, I'll stay here again for sure. Nice hotel and I'm happy with my stay :)

Good stay but...
My friend and I were in Penang for short vacay and of course we would like a stress-free trip. So far, the service provided by the staff is good and they are also friendly. However, too bad the room that we were staying have 'leaking' problem whereby I have to put extra floor mat and change them all the time. Imagine, having to change drenched floor mat every time and the leaking was right in the middle of our path way to the bed. We went to the front desk and informed them on the leaking issue and they promised to look into it. Somehow, staying there for 4 days 3 nights, nothing has been done. I will definitely go back here someday because so far the stay was good but need to improve on the leaking room problem. Thanks!

Good location
this is the rest of my review, see the first part below: On top of it, the guy urged me to hurry up, because it was 2.30 pm and his shift was until 3.00. I had flown for about 24 hours and I was very tired, so instead of having a rest I had to rush to get cash and the exchange rate I could find was quite bad. I did not understand why they require deposit, there was nothing special in the room to be taken but probably they have their reasons. In general, I had to ask for directions in the nearby Kimberley Hotel, which is much better, by the way, and only a bit more expensive. The staff there was very professional. The Chinese guy at Apolo Inn apologised at the end for not being able to direct me to the big temple outside of town. I hope they'll start making more efforts to help the customers. Overall, the place is ok, if you are traveling on your own, won't spend much time in your room and prefer a budget place. The breakfast is a plus though there are so many places around to eat and try different food. The location is great - near Komtar and the old town, with lots of delicious food around. You can walk or take the free CAT shuttle from Komtar that goes to the jetti (the ferry terminal). Taxi to airport is 45 ringit.
