Disappointing ”
Pro: the fact that you sleep on a boat hotel and you have the Danube river out the window - the location is clean and they change the sheets daily. Cons: - you can hear everything from the boat, movements, neighbours (what they are talking and doing), outside ships that are passing through - we had the breakfast included, but was the same food every day with very few choices - the distance from the city center it's about 1:30 h with the bus, 1:15 with boat transport and 30 minutes by car - when we wanted to leave we asked for a taxi for the transfer to the airport and the receptionist tried to scam us with 40 euro for the transfer. Search the internet for transfer to the airport, it is maximum 25 euro and they come as scheduled. - not a 4 star hotel in any case

rather 2 star hostel on Budapest's periphery”
I read the reviews of this hotel and thought this would be a much nicer place than what we saw when we arrived. We were really surprised how far away from city center this hotel is (about 1 hour by public transport). Forget about taking taxi to return hotel at night - the cost is so high that it is much better to book something more expensive in city center. Aquamarina could look nice in photos. In real life, boat is ugly and old. What is more, during short stay we have two unpleasent experiences. My girlfriend is due to health problems on strict gluten free diet - we have contacted Aquamarina before visit and asked if it is possible to eat something gluten-free on breakfest. The answer was "we have buffet breakfast, so your girlfriend can have something that doesn't contain gluten. We can also provide gluten-free bread." In fact there wasn't anything gluten-free. Is it that hard to inform that gluten-free meals are not provided? Second experience was with left stuff. In a rush of leaving, I left a few things. I emailed to Aquamarina and asked if it is possible to send these items back to Poland. No response. If you are looking for cheap, old hostel in periphery of Budapest, Aquamarina wouldn't be that bad. If you are looking for 4-star hotel, definately look for something different.

We had a lovely stay! It was great to do something different! It was a little way out of the city centre but an easy bus/metro trip away. Great price and breakfast included. Would definatly stay again

A suprise”
The location was good, it is quite far out of the centre of Budapest but is situated at the side of a river promenade with plenty of food and entertainment on offer right on your door step.
A mixed review for the Aquamarina hotel. I was unsure what to expect from reading the very varied previous reviews. I would say overall it was better than expected. As mentioned above the location is quite far from the centre but is right beside a river side promenade which has a good selection of food and entertainment. The hotel does advertise parking but it is very limited on a side street, if you are trying to get back in anytime after dinner time then it is not an easy task, takes lots of patience and a few rounds of the block. We had dinner in the in-house restaurant one night, this was a mistake. The room was hot, dark and un-atmospheric. Despite being one of the only two tables occupied the waiter had to take our order several times as he kept forgetting. We ordered orange juice which came warm (if not almost hot) which was not a pleasant experience on a hot humid day! The food was average, if not slightly below. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for budget accommodation in Budapest, however, don't go in with four star expectations, it rates much more fairly as a three star. Very good value for money, and as long as you have transport the location is fine. We did have an issue during our stay which meant we ended up checking out early, this was unavoidable to the hotel so would be unfair to judge them on this incident.

Good value”
Price, view, beds
This is definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. The carpet at the entrance was grimy and the "shower gel" was an old-looking bottle of hand soap that I'm pretty sure had been thinned out with water. BUT, it's by far the nicest hotel I've stayed at. The view on the Danube is wonderful, as is the sound of the water at night. Less wonderful was the sound of dance music til 3am on Saturday night.there appears to be a club on the top deck. It's a bit far out from downtown Budapest, but the bus-metro combo is easy enough. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is okay -- they don't seem to ever re-fill the platters and there was no black tea. The beach by the hotel is lively by day, but be sure to order food by 6pm or so. Overall, a positive experience, but it's important to know what you're in for.

4* hotel??? This is a joke! Don't go there!”
Nothing
Don't go there if you expect more than 2*. This hotel is 40 minutes to city center with public transport which would be OK if this was a 4* hotel with the price we paid. However as it appeared that in fact this is not more than 2*, one could easily find a 2* hotel much closer to city center. The hotel is very old fashioned, the bed In the room was broken, the breakfast is very poor (no choice really), the hotel corridor smells fried fish. A very bad experience really.

A great stay in a very comfortable location”
Large room. Warm and quiet, Comfortable bed
I loved it. I was a little worried about staying on a boat in December because I thought it might be cold. But it was perfect. I had a huge warm room for a very reasonable price - in fact, just one euro more than I paid recently for a cold, noisy, uncomfortable room in a hostel in another city! My only criticism was that the hotel could be signposted better from the local public transport, as the boat service doesn't operate during the winter. But the location is very nice - in a leafy suburb just 20 minutes by bus from the city centre. The staff were helpful and the wifi reception was excellent.

NICE AND INTERESTING HOTEL”
original, comfortable and cheap
Very good and the fact that it is far from the center didn't bother us as we had a car and we were downtown in only about 15 minutes 8and for those without car, the Romaifurdo boat stop is right by the boat). The quality of accomodation is excellent for the price, breakfast is quite OK and we had quiet rooms on the Danibe side with beautiful sunrise.. Plenty of little restaurants and snacks around, Romai beach and bus not too far; the HEV suburban train is a little furtehr but then you are fast downton (in Batthany ter). All in all, very good for the price we paid but perhaps the best with a car (plenty of parking places near the boat).

Best Hotel I've been to”
Price, Aesthetic Appeal, Friendly, Energetic Atmosphere
Traveled with sister and girlfriend to tour Budapest. After a lot of traveling in Europe, I found this hotel to be very economical and yet the nicest hotel I've been to. I was surprised to find the hotel and entire community made our stay feel much more luxurious than we paid for.
