Excellent value for money”
I've stayed in many hotels over the years, but I'm fairly new to hostels. I have to say that this was fantastic. The hostel is immaculately clean and maintained, with excellent facilities, including a kitchen, communal lounge, laundry, and pool table/bar. Their bar and vending machine prices are really competitive. I stayed in a private room, and it was really spacious. There was a little balcony just outside the room for people to use, and also a big sofa. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the wifi is pretty good. It's good for a wide range of ages. The location is very convenient for shops and the seafront. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here.

🙂Really good location, right next to the train station, 15 away from CBD area. 5 min walking distance away from grocery 🙂Clean. Room and public area is really clean, especially bathroom, staffs did good job cleaning every morning 👍 ☹️It was really really hot in the room, no way to sleep in the room at night, even with 3 fans all on. You guys really need AC in room. 😊Staff really nice

The place is good, staff is not”
I’ve stayed there for quite a long time but at first there were some problems, like too noisy at night and no hot water, soon they changed the water system, it made me very happy that they valued customer’s feedback. But after that staff always talked to me in a very rude way, especially a young European guy, who always said “would you stop commenting on us about things we can’t change?” It gives me an impression that people who work there might be the relatives of the owner, otherwise I don’t know why they are so arrogant and never even tried to be nice. Except for the staff part, the facility is great, except for the lock of the female shower room. Because it can’t be locked inside. I’ve met few times drunk guys inside, peeing and when I reminded them they never cared. I know hostel is a low-budget place to stay, but still I hope that some staff can think themselves as a part of hospitality, as the same groups of people in other hostels do.

Roommates are horrible”
I’ve been here for several times and most of the time I was satisfied about the experience here. But this time I met several weird roommates! It’s in room 12, two girls like to speak when they were dreaming, and it wasn’t a short talk, always kept a few minutes. It woke me up and kept me awake for a while. Another middle-aged Chinese lady, likes to play music in a loud volume, and always woke up at 5am and then do her exercise by waving here hands in the middle of the room! And after she woke everyone up she would started to chat with them! And she always talks on the phone atriums 7am. When she found that I’m from China, she was quite rude, questioned me that if I were a coronavirus carrier. But actually she was the one who had a heavy cold and cough a lot, I should be the one who worries! When I ask the reception if I can change the room they said all the female dorm is full and the system put others in. I hope next time the operation can be more flexible because I’ve met some other places which would move me immediately because the staff is able to change the arrangement of the automotive system!

A rude staff”
I don’t know is she still working there but one staff threw my t-shirts away without asking. I stayed there maybe 4nights. I didn’t put that the others bed nor on the floor. It was exactly on my bedside frame and I found that in the rubbish bin after she vacuum my room. Other rubbishes were still a lot on the shelves. Others were kind.

Ok for single”
Located on the busy main road, all double rooms are on road side and traffic noise is intense all night long Couldn't sleep, had to change to the bunks on other side much less road noise. Staff were good, helpful. Common room TV with theater speakers turned up to incredible volume all day and night, couch full of zombies staring at screen. I wouldn't stay again Id rather sleep in the car, but ok for young singles already deaf from nightclubs

Flexible and Friendly”
I was looking for a last minute room to myself for my trip to the Gold Coast that didn’t break the bank. I was able to move my check in to late in the night due to excellent communications with the staff. The staff and people staying were friendly and welcoming; something I have not experienced at a hostel previously. The room was clean, the bathroom facilities were clean and the common areas were clean. I did not use or visit the kitchen. The facilities were fantastic including a pool, a pool table, live sport, library and a bar. The hostel is on the tram line also which would be handy for visiting other areas of Gold Coast. I would consider booking at Aquarius again for a similar business trip or a short stay.

This is the best backpacker i ever stayed ”
Friendly staff: Nathan was nice and approachable throughout. Comfortable environment:clean kitchen for cooking, hotel-like toilet, cute design, good location of bedroom(able to get sunshine in the morning) great location:1 minute walking distance from Southport south light rail station, so convenient to main beach and surfers paradise. I’ll definitely stay here again when traveling to Gold Coast next time!! Oh btw, i learnt from one of the local driver that this has been the safest backpacker for years( no records/news of stolen stuff).

Recommended for budget travelling, though room is small and pack but the service is owesome. There are few good place to enjoy food, Daniel Stuart is one of it, they serve a very good breakfast. There is one Japanese restaurant, can't remember the name within 500m from Aquarius Backpacker, value for mony and taste good.

Location, Good Staff”
The best thing is location. 30 seconds from Southport south tram statiom by walk. Also staffs are so kind. However, There is nothing to enjoy at the backpacker. Eventhough the price is quite cheap so it is really nice to stay.
