Nice hotel with a young and friendly staff”

Breakfast in the morning, friendly staff, upgraded room, Elevator

My mother and I had a great stay. The staff was very friendly and offered us a room upgrade and allowed us to shower after we had checked out and were waiting for our train. My mother really enjoyed talking with the staff who were very professional and energetic. The rooms are nicely decorated and the ones with the view of the streets are nice. I once had a room with an outside veranda but there was no stairs up to that room. (General warning about Vietnam: Each room and especially the bathrooms have some maintenance issues. Unless you're staying in a 5 star hotel, you'll see some cosmetic or functional problems. Just let the staff know. Don't let it bother you, It's just a bit of character.) The hotel is near the Hanoi Church so it is easy to find and far enough from the hustle and bustle of the Hoan Kiem lake area, yet close enough to get around everywhere. Also there is a lovely cafe called the Marilyn Cafe with a great upstairs area. Highly recommended. This is my second time staying here and I would really recommend it. I also went on the Halong tour which was good. Hit or miss with the boat and tour guide though. Hope that helps.

      Great stay A+++++”

Great location and good value for money

Great stay at the Indochina Gold Hotel, which has now been renamed Aquarius Hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Hanoi. Being so close to the cathedral you are a 5 min walk to the lake, 10 mins to the old quarter where the market is and 20 mins to the army museum. It's a perfect base. Upon arrival we were greeted by Hang who spoke excellent English and was extremely willing to recommend restaurants and sights to see throughout our stay. I have to say that the service we received was second to none. We were treated so well by all of the staff we met, but in particular Hang and a man whose name i cannot remember, but he was equally as friendly and helpful. They all are! On this basis alone i would recommend staying here. Tea/coffee and some Fruit was offered to us on arrival as it was early evening. Our room was immaculate, the bed was comfy and large, the tv had lots of choice in many languages and the bathroom had a good, hot shower with a bath tub. There was a minibar in the room that we didn't use as water was provided each day for free. Breakfast is great, there are traditional meals as well as bacon, sausage and eggs for westerners, also fruit, pancakes and good coffee and tea. Reception will give you a map of the city which is extremely useful and will happily point out local interests and eateries if you ask. We ate in 2 of the recommended restaurants and enjoyed both. Stay here you will not be disappointed.

One of the best hotels in Vietnam i've been to...”

Very friendly and helpful staff with great attitude... Nice small road away from the main traffic...

Been to a few hotels around Vietnam and i can safely say that this is one of the best in it's budget... Staff were very friendly and you could feel their sincerity in attending to guests... Rooms were clean and odor free... and i love the wooden floors... While we were there, some parts of the hotel were undergoing some minor paintwork (which is a good thing)... so this shows that they do maintain this place... A detailed and high quality map was given, with staff explaining the major attractions in Hanoi and some details at the back of the map... Overall a very happy and relaxing place to stay for holidays and would really recommend... Would definitely stay there again should i visit Hanoi in the future.. However for those who are traveling in Hanoi, go for the reliable taxi companies like Mailinh or Hanoi Taxi groups... avoid small taxi operators even with metered fare, as they charge crazily high prices... Especially for the Mailinh taxi group... go for the small Chevy Spark taxis...

If you want to get treated like a king (or queen!)”

Everything-The staff are great, the room was amazing.
Nothing - there were no cons, and nothing i disliked or nothing that can be improbved

wow this hotel is amazing! from the moment i pulled up outside in the taxi to the moment i left for the airport i was treated excellently. They welcomed us at the taxi carried our luggage to our room and we were given drinks! Tom the manager and his staff were great and couldn't so enough for us. on arrival tom sat down with us and told us what we can do in the area, he suggested a trip to Hanoi bay with Hanoi opera cruise. There were no pushy sales he showed us the brochure and told us to let him know if we decided to go on it. Which we did and it was an unforgettable experience. Once again the Vietnamese give a superb standard to internationals. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and take what we wanted. At checkout i got told off for carrying my bags down the stairs - I was told there were strong men that would do that for me; How nice!! every time i entered the hotel i was offered complimentary drinks and was told night or day they would be free! another added bonus when your traveling - the orange juice is great! Breakfast was 5*, The hotel was so clean, our room was massive! The bed was the size of 2 doubles, and we had our own PC and TV with over 60 channels which included Disney! (great for the kids; and adults!) we had a giant balcony which was beautifully decorated with lots of flowers. Great location. Right in the center of everything! I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the hotel, you have made my trip to Hanoi an unforgettable experience. THANK YOU

Clean, good location, value for money with good breakfast. Since I don't carry laptop, I like it that each room is equipped with PC with free internet access.

Reasonably priced, room with good size and clean, excellent location with short 7 min walk to the Hoan Kiem Lake. Staff (Mr Ha and Giang) provide excellent service and extremely helpful and accommodating to special requests to ease our travel experience.

The bed was huge, the room was clean

We stayed in this hotel for 4days and cannot find a thing that we are not happy with. Every thing has been taken care very well even the concierge was helpful. We was really impressed with the staffs here and there is a really nice energy in this hotel. The hotel is located in the central of everything, basically you can walk to anything, but the hotel area create a calm and relaxing environment. While in Hanoi, we participated in a great cooking class, visited the markets, visit Hanoi old quarter by cyclo tour. For all of this, the Indochina hotel was a fine choice. The bed was huge, the room was clean. In fact, the hotel was a cool haven of calm in this bustling city. Breakfasts are great here, too. For us, it was the pace of the city, the stream of motor vehicles that never ceased during our 4 day visit.

      Staff and location

After hearing stories of people trying to steer you wrong in Hanoi, I felt that I lucked out with the Indochina Hotel. From the moment that my brother and I arrived at the hotel the manager Tom welcomed us home and could not do enough for us. My brother had injured himself in Laos a few days prior to our arrival and Tom even went with us to the SOS clinic in Hanoi and helped us book travel to Hoi An and other destinations. His other staff were all helpful and lovely to boot. Truly sweet, charming and helpful women work at this and the sister hotel a few doors down the street. They also provide a great breakfast buffet in the morning and even made us a to go breakfast the morning that we had to depart Hanoi.

Aquarius Hotel is a nice place to stay. The AC has heating as well as cooling, which is important if you go there in the winter time. The breakfast buffet is quite good, although nothing special. There not much to complain about.

      IndoChina Hotel Experience”

IndoChina Hotel is a nice hotel with very friendly and pleasant staff. The hotel room is spacious and clean.
You need to take note that there is no elevator in the hotel to bring you to every floors especailly the highest sixth floor.

The IndoChina Hotel is located in the busiest district in Hanoi. It is next to a very nice old church and surrounded with local food stalls and shops. The hotel is well maintained and with very spacious hotel rooms. The hotel staff are friendly and make you feel at home. The breakfast is not bad and good value for money. If you need to explore Hanoi, just ask the hotel staff for help and direction. I have a pleasant experience staying in the hotel.

      very comfortable”

My twin room was very spacious, it had a bath in the bathroom, nice natural light in my room at the front of the hotel, my room had a computer and free internet access. The staff were very friendly, I valued the free breakfast which was quite OK.
      No kettle in the room.

The Indochina was a comfortable stay and very well located in the Hoan Kien district at a quieter end of Au Trieu st. The room was very spacious with computer and internet and the bathroom had a good sized bath. The furnishings were of heavy wood but the height of the ceiling, size of room and the light from the windows compensated. I was upgraded without asking to be to a deluxe twin room. The staff were very friendly and the free buffet style breakfast was substantial with enough variety. I would stay there again if I came to Hanoi.

staff amaze with service standards. Nothing too much trouble

What a great hotel for the price. Cannot praise the hotel and the staff enough for how they cobducted themselves and how they assisted us during our stay and after the stay as well. From arriving at midnight to storing our luggage and providing a room for showering the children following our returen to Hanoi.

Perfect location for the Old Quater”

Clean, huge window which looked onto a zen type wall. Nice friendly staff, helpful with tours.
We stayed on level 2 which is actually the first floor from the reception and almost all the noise from downstairs could be heard- TV, kids and the group of people usually hanging around the lobby. The noise only stops temporarily. The shower/bathtub was a downside to the room, no shower curtain, little shower spray.

The street is well known for little hotels so our taxi driver could easily find it. Hotel is in a good location, walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake. There's lots to keep you occupied in the area, you'll find sections selling toy goods, artwork, textile goods, sports wear and lots of cafes. Lots of smiley faces to greet you at the hotel, its small so they get to know you vice versa.

      Highly reccommend”

Staff service was good, they were very enthusiastic and helpful with my request. The room was clean, well equiped and convenient. Actually I booked another hotel for my first 2 days, but was not very happy, and then I moved to this hotel which I believed a right decision. The hotel location is super good for me, close to the big Church, the Lake, the pagoda and surrounded with many foods options. The buffet breakfast was also good to my taste. Will definitely come back for my next trip to Hanoi.

      excellent hotel !!!”

The room was amazing and the staff were very helpful. Perfect location.
too many motorbikes, it was too difficult to cross the street.

The location of the hotel was very conveniently situated for shopping and main attractions. As quiet as can reasonably be expected in Hanoi old quarter. The atmosphere of the room and of the common facility areas was great. the facilities available in the rooms i.e. computer ,Free internet, bath-tub and china etc. a modern spacious room. choice at breakfast was excellent The staff were the most pleasant , polite, friendly and helpful. Complaints I read about the room, staffs… were not borne out by my experience .Every thing was perfect.

      My 1st trip in Vietnam”

The hotel is clean, well kept and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Besides, they can speak fluent English and it helped a lot. I'm also a coffee lover and was searching for good Vietnam coffee but I found that the coffee served during breakfast is one of the best I'd tried which it really give you a kick in the morning.Overall, I think Indochina Hotel is value for money.
There's no PC available in the room which it's part of the facilities should be included. Anyway, there are 2 terminals can be used at the reception area.

This is my 1st trip to visit Vietnam and I'd chosen this hotel through my friend's recommendation and I must say I'm thankful to my friend because I do not have to go through the hassle to do much of survey and yet get to enjoy the hospitality of Vietnamese at very reasonable price. Thanks to the 2 lady, Ms Bui Linh and her colleague and I will stay there again if I ever go back to Hanoi again.

Clean rooms but very small bathrooms”

      Friendly staff

The Indochina Hotel is situated on the more quieter part of the Hoan Kiem District. Being right behind a huge cathedral, in terms of landmarks, it is easy to find. The rooms were reasonable however the bathrooms were really small. There was not much leg room between the toilet bowl and the wall. This was a huge setback. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff not reliable reservation booking ”

      Location and staff

I booked for 2 nights. The first night I made a note that I will be arriving late due to my flight time. Its 11pm and I arrive to the hotel and the doors were chained locked and all lights were closed. Luckily a guy was sitting in the dinning room with his laptop. He comes to the door and I informed him that I had reservations in which I paid online already for 2 nights. Apparently they filled all their rooms knowing I would arrive late? A girl steps out of the room ,very apologetic runs over to the hotel across the street and redirect me to a completely different hotel. I spent a night in the hotel across the street and the next morning I checked in at the aquarius hotel. After this incident I went online to find out that this hotel tend to overbook and had some past issues with following through with their reservation. Would I ever go back? Probably not. I need to know I can rely on a hotel to keep my reservation after I paid. Nonethless the staff was friendly but that's about it.
