being a frequent traveller with my family, we have stayed in plenty of motels across OZ & NZ. Aquarius motel at Tauranga was the best we had stayed at. Paula greeted us upon our reach, check in was instant. Adequate Motor Inn ”
Not a bad place to stay when you are visiting the Mount. Its a bit of a walk (15 minutes) to most of the shops and restaurants, but the motel is comfortable and the staff were very kind to me. The room itself was large and had everything I wanted for a night stay.

Great location,clean room. Walls are pretty thin though, were unfortunate to have a couple bickering all night in room next door. Pricey over peak season

Relaxing stay in Maunganui”
The hotel is quite new and looks very nice. Receptionist is kind and check in is fast. I would recommend staying there. Few minor issues to highlight: rooms are quite dark due to high walls blocking sunshine; the spa is automatically "on" with no possibility to switch it off, everyday at 8 am, which makes a lot of noise next to the bedrooms; and lots of insects flying in the rooms. Apart from that, everything is clean and made in a way that your stay will be very enjoyable. Maunganui is a lovely place.

it was a pleasant experience although it was only a short stay. my family all love the setting of 2bedroom unit and found it very convenient and cosy. staff are very friendly.location is exellent.

I could find no fault with anything at Aquarius Motor Inn. I didn't have the breakfast so cannot comment on the quality of the food. It was completely adequate for my needs.

First class. This is a very good motel. It is a longish walk to the major shops and beach but it is not an uncomfortable walk.
Pleasant. Units well equipped ”
We had 2 executive 1 bed units. These are advertised as spacious. While one unit supplied seem to fit this description the other was more like a large studio with a mezzanine and little space to move and no privacy as no seperate room for the bedroom. I had booked spaciious executive suites so the 3 generations staying over the 2 units could all sit around in the 1 lounge together if we wanted. This was impossible.

Very comfortable. The only issue was the flooring in the corridor to the bathroom was very slippery when wet and one of my children had a nasty fall.

Good place to stay, parking in front of motel rooms, coffee, tea and milk provided. Nice staff. Good location for getting to the mount and other areas around. If you have a low car the driveway is a bit hard to get out of without scraping your car, but only a problem if you are driving a sports car. Has a pool and spa pool but we didn't have time to try.
