Value for money hotel”
Stayed in Aqueen Hotel Lavender during 15th to 19th December 2013. It was a very pleasant experience. Hotel staff was very professional and helpful. Hotel is well maintained and rooms were very clean and modern. Bathroom was small, but I was already aware of it from reviews on tripadvisor and was fine with it. Free wi-fi was available in room. Wi-fi signal strength was good with fast internet speed. The room offered to me was on 6th floor facing lavender street with a big glass window, there was some construction going across the road, but room was quiet with decent view otherwise. Coffee/tea packets and 2 bottles of drinking water was replenished daily. They have a luggage room where you can keep your luggage for few hours after checking out (in case your flight is departing late). I never tried food in their restaurant. Best thing is the location of this hotel which is approximately 1 km from Lavender MRT and Farrer Park MRT. There are lot of food options nearby at Lavender food square, Lavender MRT, City square mall and little india etc. Overall a value for money hotel.
Let this GEM remain undiscovered”
aqueen hotel is in the lavender/balestier area. unlike the little india area, its quiet, relaxed and surrounded by conventional traditional singapore shopkeepers and trade. the rooms are so clean and good size. the location accessible to downtown city hall, orchard road etc. best, the lavender food centre has some of the best food in singapore. service at reception, especially girls like jeannie, azri and stella so helpful and speaks fluent english. above all no where in singapore can you find another hotel of this quality for this price so please, if you can afford it go somwhere else. leave this hotel for those of us who cannot afford the expensive hotels of singapore but would also like to enjoy a nice hotel!
Value for Money, Good location”
We (couple) stayed at Aqueen hotel Lavender for 6 nights at the beginning of June 2010. The hotel is almost new and rooms are modern and very clean (they were cleaned every day by room service). The hotel personal are friendly and professional. Rooms are not big but enough to accommodate two people if you are not spending whole day & night in the room (I assume you are not visiting a city/country just to stay in the hotel room, day and night!). Aircon was quite and almost without a noise but was sometimes difficult to adjust the temperature. Hotel location is great. There are 3 MRT stations (Lavender, Farrer Park or Boon Keng) close to the hotel (approx 10 minutes walk to any of them using the shortest connection roads). Bus halts are almost opposite of the hotel (Lavender Road). Reasonable room rate (Singapore hotel room rates are rising!), Free WiFi, free water bottles (2 per day), 32 inch LCD TV and the room itself makes your stay much comfortable. The bathroom was separated by frosted glass but it was not a problem for us at all. As Singapore is not a place to worry about food you really don't need to use the coffee shop at the ground floor. But if you just want to have your breakfast as the first thing in the morning before you hit the road then the best option is to have breakfast ion this cafe. If you are a hotel guest, the price for the breakfast buffet is very reasonable.
Very Comfort Hotel”
Aqueen Hotel Lavender Singapore is a very good and nice hotel to be chosen. Once step in the lobby, you will feel it's very fresh smell of lavender. Interior design is very comfortable and user-friendly. Hotel is new, with its modern design, it's a very good choice to stay in the hotel. Bed cover is clean. Hotel staff is nice and polite. With the usage of the Agoda booking system, it's easy to check in in the hotel. There is only one bar downstair the hotel, which provides a very good and comfotable place for guests to chitchat and drink. In short, the hotel is very good and can be introduced to other.
good accessible hotel”
In Singapore, the hotels are available at higher price. Aqueen Hotel in Lavender is quite accessible from overall all perspectives. It is 10 to 15 minutes walk to Lavender MRT station. Then 7/11 and other shops and restaurants are like 3~5 minute walk. I have stayed in Twin sharing as well as queen bed rooms. Overall room and toilet is small but they are still fine with all the normal accessories provided. Same with the breakfast, its good enough with all the food menu for starting a good day. I think i will again stay there.
Reasonably priced hotel in Singapore”
We found the Aqueen Lavender gave good value for money in a very expensive city. The rooms are small, but had enough room for us since we were not there to spend time in a hotel room. The breakfast was complete, but a little so so in quality. On the other hand, the hawker center a block away just off Lavender was excellent so at the price for the Aqueen, we could have skipped breakfast there. It's not real convenient to the subway, but with taxis pretty inexpensive we just went outside and hailed a cab. Our rooms (we stayed several times coming and going through Singapore) all faced away from Lavender St. so they were very quiet. Most of the other guests were from different Asian countries, some on tours, others traveling independently so we didn't feel like we were in a gringo ghetto.
Clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced!”
we stayed at the aqueen lavender for one night while we waited for our flight the next morning to thailand. we were looking for a clean, inexpensive hotel to stay at for the night that wouldn't break the bank (which is easy to do in singapore). the aqueen was a perfect fit. the location of the hotel is a little far from the main tourist attractions, but there are plenty of cabs, and the subway station is close by. we did walk to little india, which is nearby, for dinner. while the rooms are fairly small, they were clean, with a lcd tv, free wifi, and a mini-fridge. the beds are a bit firm for my taste, but for one night, it was just fine as i had no problems sleeping. if you are a light sleeper, you may want to get a room on a higher level. we stayed on the second floor and there was the occasional car noise from outside, not enough to wake us up though. pros: free wifi, great selection at breakfast, friendly staff cons: small room, probably wouldn't want to stay there for more than a few days; our window faced another room, as stated in other reviews, but it didn't really bother us
Clean, simple hotel in a great area”
Aqueen Singapore is one of my favourite budget Singapore hotels. Featuring clean well-appointed rooms, the Aqueen is also secure with keycard access required to take the elevator up from the lobby. In addition, Internet access in-room via wifi is free. Great little hotel in Singapore. The hotel is also within walking distance to Lavender MRT
Nice hotel good location great bfast”
This was my 4 th time staying at Aqueen Lavender. The rooms are clean and comfortable and better than most for the price. Singapore is expensive for accomodation and I have found Aqueen to be ok value for money. The breakfast is good and the staff as allways helpfull. My room this time was on the road side as I forgot to request the "quiet side" but to be honest during the night I did not hear any traffic. If you sleep late you may want the quiet side though.
My Experience at Aqueen Hotel”
I had the best one of this hotel as good as i ever stayed in Singapore with the best value i paid. I like the hotel design and decoration. Room is very clean inside and things are new look. Entertainment of LCD TV with the good channel i found even my country's TV channel. Also quiet and sleep is very pleasant. Staff performance is very friendly. Two thumbs up for Aqueen Hotel at Lavender St.
Modest yet clean and economical hotel”
I needed accommodation for one night in Singapore and Aqueen Hotel Lavender provided a satisfactory experience for the price. Close to Little India, I was able to walk to Mustafa Centre in under 10 minutes and do some early morning shopping to avoid the crowds. Bathroom and room was clean yet quite small. The provided buffet breakfast is modest but adequate, and it's easy to hail a taxi from Lavender Street just at the front of the hotel. Overall a decent budget hotel experience and I think slightly better than the rival Hotel 81 chain.
Hard to beat rates, considering the current hotel rates in singapore. Rooms are very clean, definitely above average when compared to similarly rated "budget" accommodations in singapore. Great location, with a hawker center just a block away. Easy to get cabs right in front of the hotel, 8-10 mins walk away from the nearest MRT station, and a bus stop across the street. Located near interesting neighborhoods yet far from the seedy areas. Family-friendly, yet still cozy enough for couples looking for a quiet place. Will definitely go back to Aqueen Lavender. :)
Lovely hotel, would recommend in a heartbeat.”
Stayed at the Aqueen for 2 nights and I have no complaints whatsoever. The price may seem steep for what seems like a budget-ish hotel but it's well worth it. The rooms and hotel in general is very new and therefore everything looks snazzy. Location is decent, 1 bus stop away from the MRT or if you like, a 10-15 mins walk from Lavender station. Only con would be the bathroom as the shower area does not match the rest of the hotel in that it looks and feels much cheaper. It still is good enough for a shower though and didn't really detract from my experience.
Small but very sufficient rooms”
the hotel is about a 8 minutes walk from the lavender mrt station, right in the center of town, which is a great location. our stay of 2 nights included breakfast which was served buffet style. it had a good selection of both western and asian food. the rooms were small but very sufficient. everything we needed were provided. for singapore hotels, it is definitely worth its value. i will definitely stay at the hotel aqueen lavender again.
Great budget hotel, location bit awkward”
The Aqueen Lavender was a well-priced hotel for Singapore, where hotels can get really expensive. The rooms, though small, were sufficient, and have been designed cleverly. The bay window has a long and wide ledge that fit even our huge suitcases, and the rooms were very clean and modern-looking. The bathroom, like many other new hotels in Singapore, has glass walls, a trend I simply don't understand. Since I was travelling with my father, it was rather awkward to shower with only a frosted glass wall between the stall and his bed. We made do by turning off all the bathroom lights and leaving the room lights on; since the walls are clear glass on top, the bathroom still gets light. The breakfast, which we got included in the price (costs 8 SGD otherwise), was buffet style and very good, with lots of options. However, the Lavender Food court is a short distance away, and has lots of local and cheap options. A 7-11 is also nearby. The location is a bit far from the MRT - about a ten minute walk. It was fine in the mornings, but during the hot afternoons and after an exhausting day shopping, it seemed endless. It wouldn't be too bad for a night or two, but we were staying for four nights. However, there is a bus stop a block away, and it isn't very hard to get a taxi.
Very comfortable hotel, with good breakfast buffet”
We paid the same price for a room at the Marrison, at which the room was uncomfortably cramped, and the breakfast was a choice of sandwich or noodles and quite unsatisfactory. Aqueen Hotel Lavender was a happy relief, and my wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay there for 2 nights (from 5 Nov - 7 Nov).
Really friendly helpful staff which made the difference. We asked lots of unusual questions and they never battered an eye - just did what they could to respond and provide information. They lost our booking originally but as we called from the airport upon arrival they had it sorted by the time we arrived in person. They were happy to acccommodate a room change request (nice view overlooking the park but too noisy as the main road runs by there. Througly reccommend - especially if you're able to get a deal. There is no food option available at the Aqueen Lavender but Agoda insisits on a rating so apologies for that...
We enjoyed staying in Aqueen hotel Lavender. Breakfast was more like dinner for our western taste (potatoes, rice, noodles), but still good. The only thing that we missed in this hotel, would be pool. But then the price would be higher.
Very adequate hotel with good service”
The Aqueen Hotel Lavender is a quality hotel a bit off the more expensive tourist beat in Singapore. It is close to Lavender MRT and a very short walk to the Lavender food court which is always well patronized by locals. It is also within walking distance of Little India and shopping gems like the 24 hour Mustafa Centre.
Clean and well located”
My wife and I stayed at Aqueen Lavender for 2 nights in November and were very pleased with our stay. The room was small, but smart and tidy, very clean, and the bathroom was fantastic, with a big, strong shower head. Wifi access was free and relatively speedy, and the hotel is in a great location and is walking distance (without your luggage) to the Lavender MRT Station. Free breakfast at hotels is never impressive to me, but the food at the attached cafe/restaurant was better than the usual fare, curry at breakfast was, for me, a nice touch.
