Amazing stay at Away”
I went here with my wife and two parents who are in their 60s. The grounds here are incredible. Nestled along the River Kwai, this HUGE property is absolutely stunning. Rooms are enormous, large ceilings and huge balconies. The food is pretty decent too. Kanchanaburi is about 10 minutes by car. I actually highly recommend renting a car if going to Kanchanaburi, its cheap to do in Thailand and the area is pretty vast, getting to the WW2 memorial and national parks is not easy without your own transport.

Amazing garden and great service ”
The hotel is a classic one, not new, but really well maintained. Staff was outstanding, always polite and supportive. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The garden and swimming pool are really good. It is a real bargain for the price. I will surely come back.

The Best Resort In Kanchanaburi”
The location, right on The River Kwai, is superb. Breakfast is stunning. Restaurant is of the best standard, with staff to assist, and room service is as good as you will get. They have a floating restaurant, with immaculate decor, and trying it is a must. Parking is just a bit too far from some points of the resort, but this is minor. Beds are good, pillows better, and room comfort is right up there, too. Has both English and Thai TV. Pool is huge, with a pool bar for those interested. The main feature, The River, will just take your cares away. It is picturesque. Staying here is an experience you won't forget, and you will find yourself talking about it, right up there with the best!

Wonderful retreat!”
We enjoyed a lovely stay for 3 nights in March. The property is a real treat with large, well appointed rooms at the most basic end including great bathrooms. The breakfast was well presented and welcoming in a large dining hall. The large salt water swimming pool was especially welcome. This is a second visit here and we would highly recommend a trip. We would definitely return.

Tranquil and relaxing hotel”
This was our second time at this hotel. We still love it for its beautiful location on the river and the relaxing vibe. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was pretty good, pool was fantastic.

Very clean and good location”
The hotel is very clean and located at the center of Kanchanaburi. The food is delicious with reasonable price. Staff can guide you where to go and where to eat outside the hotel.

Beautiful building set among beautiful tropical gardens.”
Staff friendly and unfailingly polite from reception to the gardeners, from the car park attendants to the the lovely people who made up our rooms. Very comfortable rooms - spacious and elegant. We paid a little more and got the river view - we think it was worth it. Make a booking at the Rice Barge on the water or you may not get a table like us. We stayed 3 nights. One small criticism was that there could have been a little more variety for breakfast over that time but this is a really minor point. I'd stay longer at Away if I was to return to Kanchanaburi.

Fabulous Place in Kanchanaburi”
This is a stunning place right on the River Kwai. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful and well maintained. The room was very large with a wide and comfortable bed. The dinners we had on the floating barge each evening were delicious. My only complaint is that they served Nescafe at breakfast instead of real coffee. Life is too damned short to be drinking instant coffee. We would definitely choose to stay here again should we be back in Kanchanaburee.

A leap in time”
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic vintage design of the resort, takes you back to the Rama V period. Every thing done tastefully with very welcoming staff, great food and great atmosphere. Wake up to a beautiful river view with variety of singing birds. Love it.

This place is gorgeous!”
We booked a 1 night stay for a quick trip to see Hellfire Pass. I wish we would have been able to stay for a week. The entire hotel is gorgeous. The grounds and the pool are scenic and the view of the river is breathtaking. The staff were helpful and booked a last minute van to take us sightseeing. The breakfast was delicious and had a variety of options. We had a deluxe river view room and we were thrilled. I watched the sunrise over the river and listened to all the wildlife. It all felt like a scene in the Jungle Book. I would absolutely recommend this resort. We hope to return someday.

Colonial Styled Heritage in Kanchaburi”
A well colonial styled property with large and well proportioned room with large balcony, with great staffs & quite OK breakfast and large green spaces facing the famous River Kwae river. But the TV and programming need better upgrades.

Best Hotel in Kanchanaburi”
We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. We loved the pool and the breakfast. The rooms were well decorated and spacious. Staff are accommodating and helpful. Only thing missing are activities to do in the river.

The best hotel in Kanchanaburi ”
Everything is perfect! The only room for improvement would be activities. I hope they will offer activities like rafting and kayaking soon as they are situated along the River Kwai.

A beautiful Thai colonial style hotel and the best services”
I stayed in a deluxe river view room. Nice view and fresh air. The staff was active, friendly, and polite. I got the best services. My dinner, Western food, was great. Also the breakfast, they had both Western and Asian food, and I recommended the congee. :) My family loved, felt happy, and relaxed with these atmosphere. However, two things to complain, first is the extra bed, it wasn't look good enough compare to the price I paid. Second is the jam. All is too sweet.

Recommend without hesitation. Beautiful location and grounds, spacious and clean rooms, attentive staff and great breakfast. Dinner portions were on the small side but very tasty and nicely presented. Great value for the money. Prices for wine were reasonable too considering that this is Thailand.

I’ve lived in Thailand for many years and have started at numerous hotels and this hotel is excellent. Special mention to the waiter in the rice barge restaurant who worked the busy restaurant alone . 5 star all the way
