Super nice, perfect location — South Beach proper”
It’s been 10 years that I have kept coming to Catalina. A few years ago, the rooms were tired and needed an update. Missed last year, came back in Jan/2020. Freaking WOW. The lobby’s, rooftop pool — rooms! And they have a new restaurant called Taco Taco that is always packed. My kids are ready for South Beach on their own and I will be passing down the tradition of the Catalina!

Walking distance to the Lincoln Road walking street. They are very good. The locker storage is not available though after you have checked out. But, the location and service is good.

loved it, great location and room for the price. rooftop is nice & room was updated. Only complaint - no vent in the bathroom, a shower heated up the whole room.

This place is right in front of SLS, a perfect spot for roaming south beach. It also has too great Mexican restaurants and a rooftop pool (although not that big). It is worth the value compared to the prices of other hotels in this area. One thing I didn't like so much is that the rooms/washroom are really small. Other than that its a pretty good value.

I love the style of the rooms. once you’re get in the room they are pretty nice. I wanted to steal the furniture! You can just tell it’s historic as the walls and things look a little run down compared to other hotels. Right in the middle of all the action. Go downstairs to have a drink or walk the strip. I would stay again

Check in here was a nightmare it took one hour 30 minutes and the foyer is tiny and queue stretched out in the street, to top it off our room wasn’t ready at 5-30pm the employee who checked us in was rude Room was deluxe king spacious and clean fantastic comfortable bed Only stayed one night so didn’t use any of the facilities Great location

Good Location”
Old hotel needs renovation. Found a cockroach in our room and covered it with their glass. It’s still there upon checkout. Sheets were stained. Location is good though. Front desk personnel needs service improvement. Called to ask about paid late checkout options and was just plainly denied. They did not even try to find a solution for me.

The hotel is too noisy to sleep, you can not use the pool beds if you do not consume at least $ 30, even is nobody there!!!

We waited 2 hours to check in even when they said they can guarantee check-in at 3 pm. After checking several times for an update on how long before being able to get a room we were finally told we were not even on the waiting list because we hadn't paid the $85 facility fee. In the prior interactions we had, no one said anything about having to pay 1st in order to be on the list to be assigned a room. There were several other guests at the lobby waiting to check in, everyone was upset. The bathrooms are small and there is a moldy smell to them. The bamboo garden doesn't look or smell nice...all you could hear were the loud ACs from all the rooms. The two pools looked nicer and bigger in the pictures. The ice machine is in the alley and it looks very unkempt and dirty. Some positive things were the location (close to restaurants and beach), some staff members were very polite (front door attendant and valet guy), and happy hour (complimentary drinks) at Max (restaurant next door).

Great location , shabby hotel”
The location and restaurants were great , however the cleanliness of the hotel was horrible. Very 2 star hotel vibes but in a hot area of Miami.

Not worth it ”
The room was very small, the bathroom was even smaller and basically had just the bare minimum things you would need to get by, there’s no shelf to put things on - to do makeup. The room itself and bathroom looked old and our bed sounded like a spring broke

Great location, totally uninterested staff ”
Nice large room for the price although water did leak in through wall with every downpour. Great location very close to beach and free beach towels were a nice touch. Check in gave no info at all and couldn’t crack a smile. Most of the staff miserable and uninterested. Swimming pool was the size of a bathtub and water was gross. Not bad but not great
