Literally on the beach which is really great. The place feels relaxing. I've met some cool people, eat some bbqs and drank some beers. Life is good!

One of the most unique hostel I ever been to. Nice vibe, great staff. The bar area is great, next to the beach. Lots of activities. My best 10 days in a hostel!

Just loved it here! Right at the beach. Really nice staff, never had such a good velcoming before, with a tour and info, so nice! Would definitely come back! Probably quite off season as every other place at the island, but stay here when there is full moon, nice and social, and everybody leaves for the party at the same time. Couldn’t give this place a more warm recommending!

The staff are super cool and will make you feel at home from the second you get there. The hostel is a wicked place to stay if you want a real party island experience during the evening and a chilled out beach vibe in the day. Will be back!

Beachfront location, Chill vibes”
I’ve stayed in many hostels from different parts of the world and around Thailand..but this hostel in particular made me feel like I was in a resort. I was not sure if it was actually on the beach but once I arrived..there it was, just a few steps away from my room.A fantastic view while sitting on the swings or laying in the hammock watching some people kite surf.The staff provided an unforgettable service - very helpful and informative throughout my stay and ofcourse knows how to have a great time!Day and night playing music that fits the atmosphere and going above and beyond to ensure all guests are comfortable.Also, for anyone that cares - there are no bed bugs!!The rooms and sitting areas outside are clean and well taken care of.If you are looking for a chill and relaxing vibe or party for the full moon, staying at the Dancing Elephant is definitely the way to go! A big shout out to David and Nanda, Davin, Al and Andrew for their warm hearts welcoming me to their magical place <3

Movie nights were good but dont expect to stay here to party. You have to go into town to really get a bunch of people partying and youre pretty far from haad rin. Close to the bars (usually not busy) and muay thai though if thats your thing

Dancing Elephant is right next to the sea and has a great beach area to hang out at with hammocks and stuff like that. The staff is really nice, food and drinks as well even though a bit expensive. There’s a lot going on in Baan Tai in the evening and you can grab some food for less money nearby. We expected the hostel to be busier, but that’s probably mostly around half- and fullmoon. We stayed in the female dormitory, which we wouldn’t recommend as it is quite dark and narrow, it smelled weird in the beginning and the beds aren’t really nice as well. The 32-people dormitory and the other mixed dormitories looked really nice tho!

Staff generally friendly but seeemed a tad distant/not caring. The owner (? Dude with orange glasses) may as well have totally ignored me with the rude mumble he gave me when I asked how he was. I booked an 8 bed dorm and got told I was gonna be in the 24 bed dorm which was essentially just couples having sex in the double beds/making noise together. The glass cubes in the wall let the light in. Dorm not locked and lots of kids running around. Dogs lurking and in dorm on three occasions. All of these are ok but my biggest mumble is the that everything’s broken: shower heads-broken, locks on bathroom doors- broken, showerhead holders- broken, no hooks in showers, one of the back slab heaters- broken, basin taps - free shower, no plugs near beds, ladders annoying to climb without landing on below couple who are still ploughing each other. Just overall pretty poorly executed. Bike hire was easy, and I left my iPod behind which was handed in so thankyou.

Amazing time at dancing elephant !”
Amazing time here. Staff always smiling and ready to help, good food, great atmosphere with nice music and confortable sofas, the bar is right in front of the sea with volleyball net and table tennis table ! Initially booked for 32 beds dormitory, I could move to a 6 beds room for the same price ! Thanks, I'll be happy to stay here another time :)

Stayed 10 days insteed of 3 days planned at first”
The hotel is front of the beach. Good to wake up and get the morning coffee and breakfast at the beach bar, the toes is the sand, the sea for the view. Nice to spend the day in the hammock or the swings on the beach. The dorm room is near the reception. Room and bathroom is clean. The staff is amazing, smiling and super nice. I stayed here 10 days insteed of 3 days booked at first. Better proof that I enjoyed my stay!!

Great place to relax”
The hostel has a great location which is in front of the beach. A lot of hammocks to relax and enjoy the scenic view of sunset. The french guy at the reception was super helpful and the atmosphere in the place is quite laid back. The dorm wasn't clean which is not a big deal for me. The bed frames get noisy in case someone sleeps on the upper ones. Overall, I had a relaxing stay there.

Good price until week of full moon”
Then it almost tripled in price and becomes too expensive for what it is. The toilet didn't flush and had to manually flush it with the squirter hose! It also wasn't cleaned everyday as the bins were still full. Bed sheets were clean and changed when new people came. Could walk (30 mins) into the port town where most of the shops and markets were. It still has a number of good restaurants nearby, I would recommend the all you can eat bbq place. Nikki on the reception desk was really helpful and had lots of suggestions.

Perfect location just on the beach”
Love this hostel because it has a really chilled area on the beach, it's so good to wake up and have a smoke/eat by the beach, and having the sunbeds for the sunset is magical. Big store close by which can be a plus too. Not many plugs in the room and pretty sandy (which is normal as we're by the beach).

At the beach”
There is no kitchen. They writes, if you come with drinks, you will pay 500 baht per bottle everywhere. They sell drinks twice price if you consider any market. Linens were dirty It is behind the beach that is very good. Hammocks are very good to relax. This part of island's sea is not clean. Only good for relax on the beach but not swimming

great place to stay for location and people”
I had one of my best hostel stays at beach bed and bar i immidiately felt at home as i joked around with the owner(zane) and with the qeusts. You could really chill out at this place with the dogs and the people. We also did some fun things together like watch movies and go out partying. All in all if you are looking for a place to stay close to the beach and with great people i really recommend at beach bed at bar Thanks again zane!
