Great Location - Poor Condition”
We were really excited to stay at the Danubius Hotel Gellert in Budapest. When we arrived, we noticed all the lights were off in the building and it was boiling hot. Apparently, they don't use lighting during the day and don't have air conditioning in the common areas of the property. We checked in and went to our room. The only thing good about it was the expansive terrace overlooking the Danube River. The room itself was not impressive and not as pictured on their website. It's really a shame because this building could be truly spectacular if properly cared for. One positive note, the Gellert Bathhouse is located onsite (for an additional fee).

I was under the impression that I cancelled this reservation just to find out that a charge for the whole period appeared on my credit card. Needles to say I am very upset as I didn't stay at the hotel.
Super city break”
We stayed her for 4 nights and would without doubt stay again despite the hotel decor being a little bit tired now. It is in an excellent position for sight seeing and most attractions are within walking distance from it. Lovely staff and breakfast buffet is excellent!

Beautiful but dated hotel in great location. Rooms are very basic it clean and a bit hit and miss but staff are helpful. Feels like what it is. Old fashioned Hungarian hotel with lots of history.
