Great time in La Jolla”
I took my girlfriend to Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines and it was an amazing experience. The staff really makes you feel like they care and want to help! Neil in the front desk really helped with letting us know attractions and restaurants in the area. Hotel was very clean and everyone always greets you with "have a great day." Balcony was great in our hotel room and the downstairs restaurant is okay but I would recommend poking around the local places. All in all great trip!
Wouldn’t stay again”
Room service was unresponsive; I had to transport my luggage to and from the room myself. Despite paying for a golf course view, I received only a partial view, and requests to change rooms were denied with the claim that all rooms were similar. However, I observed a room with a better view during my stay. The breakfast service was also disappointing. On the first day, it took 15 minutes to receive coffee, and on the second, we were not served for 30 minutes, forcing me to personally seek out utensils and napkins.
Hidden fees”
I'm pretty sure this is just a California thing, but I ended up paying an extra 120 plus in fees just for two nights! I don't think these are absolutely necessary to cover their overhead. Other than the fees it is a great place, great staff, wonderful ambience and views, I just wish they were upfront about that before I booked.

We had to wait 1/2 hour to see someone to check in. When we finally got to the room I immediately noticed the floors hadn’t been vacuumed, there was dog food on the floor. When I called, they instructed me to go back up to the front desk for another half hour wait. We had to request that our room be cleaned the night before each day. Despite doing that, it wasn’t cleaned the 2nd day. No bar soap in the bathroom so I had to step into the shower for body wash when I had to wash my hands. Then had to pay $76 extra each night for parking and “resort fees”… I was incredibly disappointed.

It was a great location and great hotel, but furniture in the rooms were really old and torn apart.
