The hotel facilities, breakfast and cleaningness are exceptional. It's a bit far from the city center. Eventhough, the hotel has a shuttle bus that would take you to train station for free until 10am on your way back it would be a bit complicated if you don't have good phone service to call the hotel or an UBER. The train station is solitary. Heads up, if you are traveling during the summer and are used of air conditioning in Italy the air conditioning it may not be as cold as you would like.

Disappointing stay and super underwhelming service from receptionists. Typically you would get a bit of an intro on the hotel when you check in. Unfortunately I didn’t get any run through about the hotel from the two girls that checked us in. E.g how to use the wifi, what time is breakfast, where is breakfast located, what time is check out? Luckily my booking highlighted most of the info. Although, my partner who was there to help me check in, and spoke Italian, so he was able to get information on the shuttle service they offer. However, even that information on how this worked varied from one staff member to another. Some tell you to just wait outside and another gets angry because “it doesn’t go unless they call the driver”. Don’t even think about having your laundry done there, as again, one day they’ll say they do it the next day they’ll say they don’t. Breakfast is good only if you go after 8am otherwise your restricted with the type of food they put out. Shuttle bus is a handy service to use. Vladimir and Andres were the two outstanding staff from the whole stay. They even noticed my friend was limping and offered to bring the steps out for her to get in and out of the shuttle. Without even needing to ask. This is the type of service and hospitality the rest of the team should learn from. The other driver who drives the van is lazy and lacked hospitality skills. Housekeeping give you fresh towels one day but forget to empty the bins. Bit of a hit a miss with that too. You’re better off ordering the taxi yourself unless you don’t mind being late for you flight if you rely on the receptionist to remember to order your taxi for you… Apparently they don’t use Agoda as a booking site. So when they tried to kick me out at 11:30 and tell me my check out was at 10:30 when my check was clearly stated 12pm on my booking. It was a just the big cherry on top from my stay of how ridiculous the staff work here. Communication is the biggest downfall for Belstay. Only one person wears their badge - Manuel. So I couldn’t even tell you which receptionist performed well or not but regardless they all need to actually refine their hospitality skills if they want returning customers.
