Location is excellent, however....”
I stayed in a Single room, room was dated but clean. No fridge or safe. Staff did bring a safe to the room so just ask. View was nothing and looked down on a pile of scrap wood and things that could have been cleaned up. Shower/ bath was small so if you are on the large size it could be a squeeze. Breakfast was tradtional Turkish, with fruit and cererals. Beautiful roof top area to eat breakfadt with a wonderful view of the blue mosque and water. Location wise 100 meters to the square and plenty of shops and restaurants around. There is a supermarket up the road a little, buy turkish delight from there and dont get ripped off at the grand bazzar, which is a 10min walk away. Go to the spice bazzar ( Egyptian) instead heaps cheaper.
Great location, friendly staff and lovely breakfast setup”
If you are planning to stay near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and some of the other historical monuments, Grabd Bazaar etc this is an absolute ideal location. We came as two groups; a family of 4 adults and 4 children. The hotel looked old and rustic and had new furniture delivered for the lounge and reception on our 1st day which was lovely. It is getting upgraded as i write this with improvements being made to the terrace and some of the floors of the hotel. The hotel accommodated 5 of us in one large ensuite family room and 3 in a double ensuite room. The second room was one bed short but after talking to staff they placed another bed in the room. One room had a smart TV and one didnt. The bathrooms had hairdryer and fresh towels, bath wash. The hotel room was fairly clean and all the beds were super comfy. The air conditioning worked very well. There was a working lift to all floors. The best thing about the hotel is the view on the terrace. On one side is the Blue Mosque and on the other the Bosporus. Just stunning when having breakfast or at night. We were given tour information on arrival and was able to book a boat trip through the hotel. There are nearby supermarkets, shops and restaurants everywhere. We had no trouble at the hotel at all and would go back to stay again. If you are looking for a luxury hotel this isn't for you, as there is no pool, spa, gym etc. Its old style deco, but clean, friendly and comfortable.
The best in the sultanahmet”
The best feature of the hotel is the elevator… most of the hotels in istanbul only stairs. Pretty exhausting going up to the 4th and 5th floor without elevator. The turkish buffet bfast is really nice. The view is amazing. You get to see the sea from the top floor which is open space. My room doesn’t have aircon (the owner said it’s broken but i am pretty sure it is broken for a long time already and they didn’t repair it), luckily i came in may where the weather still a bit cold. Only during the day i opened the window a little bit to get some fresh air. I got the blue mosque view from the window of my room which really nice. The bathroom is clean and the size is decent. On my last day the elevator is broken so we had to came down the stairs from 4th floor. The staff can help with our luggages. The sounds from the busy streets can be annoying if you are a light sleeper. There is chinese and indian restaurant nearby. Lots of turkish restaurants around the hotel and also a mini mart. I arrived early and the owner allowed me to check in early which is highly appreciated. Thank you Fehmi Bay!
Beautiful Boutique Hotel”
Location was great, literally 5 mins walk to Blue Mosque and Aya Sofea. Lots of delicious food outlet nearby, walking distance to train (2 stops nearby) Also near other tourist attractions like the Grand Bazaar. Hotel provides basic necessities but its nice and clean, but love their rooftop restaurant. They serve their wonderful selection for Breakfast there, simpy love it and lastly the hotel staff were friendly and very helpful esp Mahmud. Reliable and trustworthy. And for the price u pay..will definitely return. September 2022.
