Quaint but distant”
Marketa is a quaint little hotel. It is located in area 6 but easily access by local trains. The train ride is 20-25 minutes from city center. There is no air conditioning but fans in the rooms. The hotel depicted in the photos is not as nice as it appears but serves as a place to use as an oasis while seeing the city. The staff is very friendly. The free breakfast best meets the need of Europeans and not Americans. The hotel met our needs and the price was right.

Took bus from airport to near hotel using googlemaps. Got great directions at airport on bus, buying ticket, how & where to transfer. Small hill at the end but doable with a backpack. Very efficient & pleasant receptionist. Breakfast included and it was fabulous. DON'T miss it. Two staff members moved about quietly, quickly refilling empty trays, etc. Such a pleasure to see such great service. Reminder, even if you pay your room charge online, you still need to pay the bed tax in Czech money on arrival. It's cheap but I didn't see an ATM anywhere (I got cash at airport ATM). Two close restaurants. I ate at the Asian one & it was good. It was an hour walk into City center/old town. You cannot buy tickets on trams or metro. I'm not sure about bus. The hotel may sell them. Ask before you leave if you want to take transit which is a breeze if you have the tickets.

Petit déjeuner copieux. L'hôtel n'est pas dans le centre mais est très bien desservi par les transports en commun. Parfait !
