warm friendly and very hospitable staff however....”
This resort takes pride in their staff who are very hospitable, friendly, and warm and they will look after your every need with a smile. From the front desk staff, the restaurant waiter and chef who personally greeted the guests, and the caddy boys who will drive you around the island. Shout out to the snorkeling guy (I forgot his name :( )who went with us kayaking and took all our photos. The only negative was the fact that we noticed some of the facilities weren't operational when we were there (Nov. 2018). We were hoping to try out the jetski but we were told it needs repairs. We also went into the main infinity pool out the front of the main restaurant but it was quite dirty and looks it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Other than that, the water villa itself was amazing! Very clean and well maintained, and the jacuzzi was the best. One thing I noticed though, the shower drain in the outdoor area where the jacuzzi was directly goes out into the sea.

Facilities fail the beauty of the place”
Don’t expect too much with their facilities. They may seem to be indulging in the photos but in reality, they disappointed us. Considering that we are the only guests in the whole island it is just right to expect utmost care and preparation. Here are my notes that you should consider: - aircon needs to be fixed when we arrived. It is set at 28 deg which is hot for a place exposed in sun - heater is not working - pool is dirty - phone is not working. we need to get the receptionist’s phone number so that we can contact the front office for any needs - wifi is bad. though data is very fast since Globe tower is in the same island - lack of choices in the menu (food/drinks) Nevertheless, the beauty of the place compensates everything negative mentioned above.

Great location, great holiday”
Loved the island, the beach, the reef. It is overpriced and the service is Filipino (slow and unreliable), but we had a great time. If you are looking for a short tropical break, do this. Also we did it in November so had the island to ourselves:)

Food ”
Food is overpriced. Having said that since its a beach resort guests are expecting to have fresh seafood but unfortunately when I ordered fish its not fresh and had that strong smell. Accommodation rates are already on the expensive side but yes its a luxury resort hence i expected to have a luxury service as well. For the breakfast i expected it to be at least buffet. I was quite disappointed on the first day as i’ve requested for a special arrangement of rose petals and balloons and a slice of cake i paid 1.2k and it dint really turn out as I expected and the cake was not even there. When we arrived noticed repair guys fixing the aircon and asked them if they would be able to fix it otherwise we’ll request for another room but they said they will be able to fix it. So we settled in and waited 2hrs but the room was still warm. Cutting to the chase we transferred to another room- time wasted and receptionist mentioned that there were no rooms available when there is.

DISGUSTING”
The resort is run down and needs urgent TLC. 90% of the resort is shut down due to poor maintenance. Advertised water sports and all equipment either not available or broken. Rooms are corroded from the salt water. The water villas have disgusting views of the next door water villa that is no longer being used or maintained. There is only one chef on duty for 3 meals a day and very limited options. The resort has destroyed the coral and the lively hood of the ocean. Would never recommend my worst enemy to visit this pathetic excuse of a resort .

Terrible terrible terrible place!!!!!!!”
Wasting time, money and my effort. Visitors should know that the price of bucket of ice is 1000peso. Of course, services was terrible and resort accommodations were holy .....couldn't say anything. No wifi in the room. Same menu for everyday. Also if you bring beers or other wines you should pay corkage. Even if you bring them in the bag then resort will count the drinks. Pay 6$ per 1 can of drink. 3000 pesos for 1 bottle of wine. That's the corkage price. And the depend on the wine the corkage price will be different. Even though there are only two kinds of wines. No selections. No choices. They charged high prices for corkage. Remember, they don't notice this before u get the resort. There are no options. You should pay for it. Our family stayed 4 days in Huma. We really wanted to escape from there. Don't visit Huma. Wasting money and time. The only good thing was that there were lots of pretty fish in the sea. The island is only good for snorkling. Also you should know that there is no supervisior or manager. It means that you get with any problems in the resort, there is no one to resolve that problem. The resort staffs are like a doll. They don't have any responsibility for unfair situations and terrible conditions. We just have to accept all the terrible things. The staffs just followed the rules that was constructed by anonymous Boss.!!!During staying 4days I could not see the Boss even could not talk with her?or himm?!!!!! The Huma resort did not provide proper services to our family. I got bad memories from their rude attitudes and minds. Here is a another case. When it had scold at midnight the raindrop leaked from the ceiling. Be careful ur luggages in the room. I woke up at the midnight I packed my luggage and wiped the floody floor in the room. What a nice cottage it is!!!!!!!!!water leaks from the ceiling.....All the blankets, pillows and my clothes were damp. Although there are more problems in Huma resort I just want to end here. Lastly always

Do not stay here”
Please, for your own sake, stay at a different hotel. The management is terrible, the staff is poorly trained, and the facilities, while beautiful, do not function properly. The hotel was damaged in a storm and has not been properly repaired. This is simply not a good hotel at half the price. When taking into consideration the prices it borders on the ridiculous.

Huma island is a rip off... short of a scam”
Pros: 1. Going there is convenient with Air Juan seaplane, avoiding the hustle of airports and land travel. 2. Staff are friendly, no doubt. 3. Water Villas are ok. Cons: 1. There’s nothing else to do but swim on the beach. 2. Only 1 restaurant is open with a very limited menu, and very expensive. 1k for a cheeseburger, 300 for a bottle of beer, 150 for a coke in can, 750 for a shawarma. And here’s nothin special on it. Taste is so so. McDonald’s cheeseburger is way way better. 3. Spa service is way off the grid! 4,500 pesos per hour of traditional massage. I mean, it’s only 300 per hour home service anywhere in the Manila or nearby provinces. Make it 4 times in a resort might be acceptable, but not 4,500 per hour. 4. There’s practically no guests at the peak of summer on a weekend. We were just 3 couples booked in the whole island. 5. The place is not children or elderly friendly. No railings on walkways. Want a nice vacation? STAY AWAY FROM HUMA ISLAND!

Food poisoning ”
I took my wife on a date to this place, but we got food poisoning - it was so bad, we could not sleep all night, throwing up and losing our energy for days. The cost of this place is over the top as well. Every thing is old even though everything looks new on the pictures.

Ridiculously overpriced for a very poor service”
The first impression is great. A friendly welcome with guitar, and fresh coconut. We paid the Peak season surcharge. We are taken to our rooms which are very spacious and nice. The hotel seems empty and we are told that there are only 33 pax! The hotel has over 300 rooms so why the Surcharge? The rest was a disaster. - The jacuzzi was leaking and temperature rose only from 27 to 31°C in 4 hours. - The jet-ski was out of order, - We borrowed 2 kayaks and after 15 mn, one of them sank. - The arrows of the archery centre were bent - We order pizzas and wait 30 mn to be told there are none. It took them 1 hour to serve us 2 lousy cheese burgers - We were never served in less than 45 mn and only half the dishes on the very limited menu were available. - The food quality is substandard - tastes like cheap frozen food. The staff is friendly but incompetent. The hotel manager didn't bother to respond when we complained. Other customers were as frustrated as us. Resort to be avoided.

Nice place. Nice beach. Nice view”
Not accommodating staff. Horrible service. Not value for money. Over rated. Not worth the price. Unhelpful staff. They don’t mind the needs of the client.

Pirate Island - Stay Away!”
If you have booked this hotel, please cancel now. If you are considering to book it, don't. There is not enough space to describe all the bad things about this hotel, so I will just outline the main ones: 1. Food quality is bad. It is never warm, does not look appealing and the quality is under big question (we and some other guests during our stay experienced food poisoning - not fun at all) 2. The hotel is run out, furniture and jacuzzi are falling apart. 3. Service is very poor - there is no one really to take care of even simple requests. The stuff is small and not professional. For example, when we checked in neither TV nor Wi Fi were set up in our room. 4. Entertainment on the island is quite ridiculous. In particular, evening music that is performed by such poor musicians that we had to escape our dinner as soon as possible (you just cannot listen to it - the girl simply does not know how to sing and does not know English which she is trying to sing in). Overall, stay away.

Overpriced beautiful island with service which is never 5 stars”
We stayed there for a week. First the good things about it. + The island and also the sea are beautiful and good for snorkeling or diving + The villas are mostly clean and really big +The employes are very friendly The negative - The prices for the meals which are served are much to high, the size and the quality of the sam meals changed every day - The hole resort should be renovated things work but everything looks damaged - Service has no idea about serving and forgot always something - Meals and beverages were not available for many days - Not sure what management is doing there they are more or less just sitting around and smoke - Jaccuzi has not work for 3 days after a few calls it was fixed + we got a massage from the manager because of that - Transport was not organised for back to the airport happily we got someone which drove us there for payment that we get our flight in time. I can not recommend it, save your money!

Not value for money”
We had our honeymoon at Huma last January 2017 and overall it was "okay", the room was amazing because of the view and your own Jacuzzi right outside your balcony. The Food was alright, nothing great and you don't really have a choice as it's a private island means getting out of the island would be a hassle. The island hopping options are minimal too, the don't focus on the main popular tourist attractions. Our stay was nice but I would not come back again..

Long Wait For Breakfast Food”
At the time of our stay July 24, 2017 there is only one restaurant in the island that serve their free breakfast. I waited 45 minutes for my food to arrive - very long wait although there are only us & other group [6 people] in the restaurant at that time. It's everyday and not just this incident and as what other had reported in the past review. Food also is limited of choice some on the menu is not available. For this price [$400/day] of resort its unacceptable! Why not change your breakfast to BUFFET!

Pretty Resort with nice facilities and friendly staff”
For a premier resort, it has several ticks in the box with nice rooms/cottages and friendly staff but falls short on a few things like quality of food and some non working/ faulty facilities.

One great experience !”
Dreaming of going to Maldives got us to Huma instead. Considering the cost for us Filipinos, I can truly say that it is not practical to spend 20K plus for a night but we understand why they have to charge that much. Here are the reasons based on our experience: 1) They will have to pay for the van for the RT Airport transfer . 2) They will have to pay for the RT Boat transfer 3) considering its an island resort, all of the supplies there will have to be transported by a boat 4) The maintenance of all the rooms and resort facilities must be very costly . As per interview with Sir Jay, before Huma could start its operation last 2013, they were hit by the strongest typhoon Yolanda that damaged almost 80% of the resort. So the owner have to rebuild it again ( imagine how much was the cost of the construction?) And now they will be closing the resort to the public by August to end of September to have a renovation again and will be opened to the public by October 2017. CONS: buffet is expensive which is P2500 per pax but it is practical than ordering there by menu. Beach sand is not that fine. PROS: Upon arrival, they will hand you a cold towel and will be greeted by a song and drinks. They transferred us to our room by a buggy in which you will see the beautiful scenery of the place. Our room was very comfy and very colorful!! It was my first time to dip in Jacuzzi and it was awesome and the view!! We are not just lucky to experience the beautiful sunset as it was raining in the afternoon. The bathroom is also big and there is an indoor bathtub with the toiletries L'Occitane which is very nice not to bring home :) Overall, definitely I will recommend it to all future guests and will be looking forward to come back again . More promos please :)
