My Honeymoon Hotel Experience ”
When my husband and I entered the Imperial Hotel in Osaka, it felt like a magical fairy tale come to life. A skilled flute player was performing at the whimsical café downstairs, and the large windows surrounding it added to the hotel’s picturesque ambiance. The hotel is surrounded by water and a beautiful park that my husband and I frequently walked around and explored. The hotel staff was very friendly, and they even had our room ready early. The hotel room had a 1940s classic, almost historical look to it, which added to its character. This makes sense because if you visit their bar and have a recommended whisky sour (note it was amazing), you will find pictures of Marilyn Monroe visiting this exact location. Our room provided pajamas, robes, and great toiletries, including skincare products. Japan really thinks of everything, and this hotel didn’t withhold any of its usual efficient aesthetics. Included with our stay was a complimentary club lounge equipped with free drinks and snacks overlooking the scenic river view Osaka has to offer. I even tried a very futuristic way to refill a Japanese beer that I have yet to see anywhere in my hometown of Los Angeles. You literally put your beer down onto this metal plate, and it refills from the bottom up. It was entertaining, to say the least. We were also informed that the hotel has one of the best high-end sushi spots, so we made a reservation before we arrived. I would highly recommend it. It’s called Sushi Kyubey, but keep in mind that while it’s very fresh, it is for the adventurous. You might try things you’ve never had before, but we found it exciting. The only thing to note is that the hotel tends to get a bit stuffy at night, so remember to keep the air conditioning at a comfortable temperature. Otherwise, the staff was extremely friendly and always very accommodating, especially when it came to explaining to our taxi drivers exactly where we wanted to venture. Overall, our stay at the Imperial Hotel in Osaka was a delightful experience, and we enjoyed its classic historical charm.
Excellent hotel with a great location”
The stay at the hotel was excellent. Rooms are spacious, clean and bright with natural light. We got to enjoy the nice view of the river and gardens right behind the hotel. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant.
Most amazing service!!!!”
I highly recommend the Imperial Hotel in Osaka. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and I wish it had been longer. The staff were so friendly and service-oriented and they made us both feel like royalty. The room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and great view of the river and cherry blossom trees. We did upgrade to one of the VIP floors, so I can only speak to that experience. In hindsight, I wish I would have stayed at the Imperial for 4 days and doing day trips to Kyoto rather than staying in Kyoto. This is a 5 star hotel!!!
So close”
We stayed on one of the Imperial floors, for context. Tourism focused, no business. The staff are excellent and the hotel overall is stunning. It misses out on facilities, as it relies on a connected business for gym and health facilities and will charge for these (even if at a reduced rate). The Imperial lounge is marvellous, again very helpful and friendly staff. The only spoiler for us was breakfast. It's available only from 7am (so would be hard to use if you need to leave early for business) and the restaurant in question fills very quickly. Queue from 6.45 to guarantee a space or be told to go downstairs to the atrium restaurant.....but oh, that doesn't open until 7.30am. The staff in the atrium are great, but there are far too few of them for the layout of the area. Getting tea or coffee (which is hand delivered) can be a nightmare if you are seated away from the servers. The funnel shape of the breakfast buffet also leads to enormous crowding of the "egg station". I can't commend either part of the breakfast experience, upstairs or down, but the food was fine when finally tasted. This is also a rare hotel that doesn't serve breakfast for the equivalent of Imperial floor guests in their own lounge, so there was no alternative there either. We still rated the hotel very highly, but no-one wants their first morning experience to be this frustrating in any hotel...sorry.
