It wasn't like I expected”
I stayed in this hotel for three days, specifically in room 3033, from February 5 to February 8, 2024. The room is in poor condition. The bathroom door makes a sound when it is opened or closed. My reservation included breakfast, but I did not eat breakfast at the hotel at all because breakfast included some kind of soup. Coffee, tea and some biscuits only. The hotel's location is far from restaurants or shops. However, the treatment of the reception staff was nice and wonderful.
Enjoyable but could be better”
The hotel looks very nice and clean, the staff are nice and friendly. The room was clean and serviced daily but the bed was HARD. We have traveled around south east Asia for 10 weeks and never felt a bed this hard, or ever for that matter. Not sure if this is a northern Thai thing but it didn’t feel the best. The breakfast was quite minimal with tea coffee water and rice/soup. The location isn’t the best as restaurants are few in the area besides a few on the river front. About 15-20 minutes drive to night bazar and busy areas near bus station ect. Blue temple is only 5 minutes away by scooter. The hotel is nice but would only recommend if you don’t mind using a scooter or grab/taxi to get everywhere. And if you don’t mind sleeping on a VERY HARD bed
Recommend”
This place is value for money. I stayed for 1 night. The room is a bit old but it is no problem. The room is big and clean, no musty smell in the room. There is Hot water and strong waterflow. I Love it. The bed and pillow are good., comfortabe. I recommend to stay here.
Very, very hard beds”
It appears that his place has recently been upgraded, with a few more crucial things to improve - especially the (lack of) comfort of the beds. what we liked: - very modern looking reception and breakfast area. Nice décor throughout the hotel common areas. - quiet neighbourhood. - friendly staff. - excellent housekeeping - 6 pillows provided for a queen bed. - free breakfast (rice soup: 'Jok', cookies, and coffee) - free self-service carwash facility (with pressure wash hose) What we didn't like: - very, very, very hard beds; like sleeping on a thin mat on a concrete floor. - rooms urgently need painting and upgrading: walls are scuffed, some of the furniture is very worn, especially the desk below the TV. - ants in room and bathroom (ok: this is a common problem in Thailand) - internet was very spotty: sometimes fast, sometimes no connection at all. - refrigerator switches off when keycard is removed from slot. Only one keycard provided per room. - no elevator to access higher floors. We really wanted to like this place and stay again after returning from a trip to the surrounding mountain areas. However, the bed was just much too hard for us, we slept very badly and woke up with a sore back. With a better mattress, we would have given 4 or even 5 star rating.
Its close to airport”
For the cost of the place, it make sense, it's close to the airport, but lots of things are outdated and older in the room and our fridge didn't work. Staff was really nice. No elevator in this building. We booked for a quick one night before flying out to phuket from chiang rai Airport. If you don't care about the smell in the hallways or old furniture, and some beat out walls, this would be the place. Breakfast was very simple, congee(rice porridge), coffee and tea, and some cookies. The lobby was the nicest place and the breakfast room does have some beautiful wooden tables. This place used to be called something else, I power, chiang rai, not M power. I had a hard time looking for it in this small town neighborhood. Roads are very narrow if you have a car. Booked a twin room, with my sibling.
