My most Favorite Resort! On my new most favorite island! ”
Wow! An amazing place and experience! The location and scenery at this small and very cozy resort is difficult to explain beyond “AMAZING”. On a cliff, overlooking Apo island and amazing Sunsets! Lounge in the pool for some unearthly sunset views and star gazing. They staff were OUTSTANDING! So friendly, helpful, very attentive, made us feel at home. The food at the restaurant was so delicious and fun. HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! Best food we had in the island in our 18 days on Siquijor. We booked at Kayawan for only 3 nights. We could not leave! Repeatedly extending to eventually 13 nights there. The stair case down to the ocean, descending along the cliff, is so unique and beautiful. Easy to snorkel and it’s beautiful. Though I had injured my knee before arriving to Siquijor, I was still able to do some scuba diving (I want to do more!). Very nice dive site and the dive shop on the property is very nice and well equipped with new gear! We stayed in an ocean view villa. WOW! So comfortable, classy and fun. The bathroom is “outside” through a back door of the unit. So fun, luxurious and unique. It is an amazing design feature which my words can not capture how nice it is. Just fun showering (very privately) outside! Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not say they have the best scotch/whiskey selection I have seen in the Philippines. Especially outside of Manila. Wow! (Rumor is they have already replenished much of what I consumed 😱🤣🤣) Siquiijor is now my favorite Island in the Philippines and Kawayan is my favorite resort! (NOTE: they do not recommend this place for children, and as a father, I have to AGREE! You are on a cliff! There are rails, but these will not contain a young child!!! )

For couples that need to relax”
The resort is quite isolated but has an amazing seaview. It's relaxing and quiet at all time thanks to active measures taken by the management (no phone allowed in the restaurant). It's designed for couples more than families with children. Dinner is very good and the bar nicely furnished with wine, cocktails, etc. Everything can be organized by the resort like tour of the island or you can do it yourself if you get a trike phone number when you arrive at the pier. The staff was perfectly trained and extremely welcoming. Rooms are nicely designed with outdoor bathroom. Wifi was strong and TV has netflix if you really need to connect to the outside world.

Fab if you want to swim , dive , relax , amazing for that ! but miles up from the town and restaurants etc ! But I love it ! Good super ! Expensive tho! but loving my stay here ! for work ans swimming it’s fab !

My boyfriend and I went here for a holiday. The place was far from the airport and it's hard to get around siquijor as it's too far from the main places to visit there. Also, the guy owner invalidated my feelings when there was a SNAKE INSIDE OUR BATHROOM!!!! He/ They did not do anything to compensate for what happend. Normally, I think an owner would initially apologize and do something nice for the guest/s who had a bad experience. Nonetheless, the place has a great view and unique aura. The massage was great here as well.

Dear Krizia We remember you well. An most of the time the story has two sides! You first took selfie shots of the small and harmless snake in the bathroom for about 5 minutes. You panicked and put the hotel on high alert, but why would you have the time and courage to shoot a video first? Did your video not get the desired number of likes on social medias, so you now have to blame the hotel - even though you left the front door open! Are you not aware that we are in the tropics here, where exotic animals live. Three hotel employees then ensured that you did not injure or even kill the snake and that it could be safely removed from the room. And during this event, you never left our employees' side, always at a distance of about one meter, so as not to miss anything. You even yelled so loud when you saw the snake again that one of our employees suffered a temporary hearing loss because you yelled directly into his ear. You didn't even think it necessary to apologize to

Food was great, room was ok. Staff was good at first. They had an issue with constantly questioning to see if we had brought food or beverages from outside the resort. They wanted everything purchased there where the prices were ridiculous. They try to keep you there so you cannot see that the other resorts food and rooms are much better priced. The biggest issue I had was with a scooter I rented from the property. The first day I rented it I was only charged half a day which I thought was fair. The second day, I had the scooter for less time and was charged an entire day. To add to that, I filled the scooter before returning to the property and turning it in. Upon check out I was surprised with a 500 peso fee for returning it back not full and the scooter only takes about 200 to fill up. Absolute scam of a place that tries traps you at their resort and force you to pay their high prices because you are far away from everything else. Compliments to the chef as everything served was amazing but that is the only good thing I have to say about that resort. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

First of all thank you for staying with us. We only charge PHP 300.- for the refill and not PHP 500.- as you indicated. And that's only because we have to organize the gasoline for those who don't fill up. And we always charged only ½ days. Before you left we found the shards of a broken body wash ceramic container in the bathroom, but you didn't even tell us about it. That is the reason why we charged PHP 500.- to you and not for the motorbike as you claim. Whether the prices for services of any kind are ridiculous or not is entirely subjective. From our point of view our prices for the same category hotel or restaurant are island average. To our location, this is the reason why 90% of our guests choose us. No noise, high end services combined with wonderful nature. Information about that can be read anywhere on the internet. And if our staff is attentive to our guests, it's not because we're going to look for something it’s because we like to give you the best service we can.
Three days of heaven ”
Such a pleasant experience from the moment we arrived at Kawayan resort. We arrived very early and although check-in isn't usually till 2pm the staff and owners were very accommodating, and we had a wonderful breakfast and a drink before being shown to our room at 10am. We loved the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and found we would rather stay in the resort to eat mostly, as the food was just so delicious. The staff were definitely the highlight of our stay as they were very friendly and helpful, and just lovely to talk to on all occasions. We spent a good amount of our time in the lovely pool drinking cocktails and enjoying the view while chatting to staff. All in all the only bad thing I could say is that I wish I'd booked for more time at the resort as three days wasn't enough.

Relax, snorkel & Dive”
If you look for a quite place off the party miles in Siquijor this is a great place to go. Well designed and maintained place with a spectacular view on the ocean. Friendly staff and owners - Eco friendly, with love to details. Snorkel & Dive direct in front of the resort, or just relax and chill for a few days. As for the food, Nice menu with a Swiss touch.

Amazing vacation!!! ”
There is no other way to describe it briefly. I do not understand some bad review at all and even makes me a little angry. But I will come to that later. But here are a few key points as we experienced it (March 2022, 11 nights): - Peace and quiet - best food ever I had in a resort in the Philippines (is even better than in many restaurants in Germany - a dear greeting to the excellent female cook) - beautiful, clean, lovingly to the last detail and thoughtful single standing cottages with an open bathroom - beautiful and clean infinity pool with pool bar and sunset view - wonderful view - insanely beautiful and healthy house reef with beautiful underwater scenery and underwater world within a sanctuary for diving and snorkeling - super dive guide, who knows how to discover every little creature - great selection of drinks, international as well as local - SUPER NICE AND MEGA-FRIENDLY STAFF, who read your every wish from your lips. - and last but not least: the owners can be considered as new friends rather than business partners - they do everything to make your stay a pleasant one. If one can give a negative point, then the following: day guests sometimes come to the resort property and then think they have the same rights for 100PHP that a hotel guest has for 5600PHP. But this is not the case. There are clear rules given upon arrival that are to be RESPECTFULLY followed in order to disturb the actual guests as little as possible. This includes, of course, NOT riding a motorcycle to the restaurant. This also includes NOT entering guests' rooms or even using the pool is only for hotel guests (the resort just isn't big enough for that either - if you want to, you can go to Coconut Grove). Some of the 100PHP "tourists" may not understand this and think they can do whatever they want. The owner does his best to protect the hotel guests from such people and this includes strict intervention in case of NOT COMPLIANCE with the RULES. Those who do not follow the rules mus

The resort is at the and of a terrible bad road. You are compleet in the middle of noware. The owner is A very arrogant person. The whole day you Will be watched by HIM or his staff. Wenn you leave your room a staffmember snips in and Will,open the curtens and turn off the airconditioning. You Will not have a good and comfortabele feeling there. Sooo don,t go there ..!!! There are many other places to stay who are more plesant.

O hi Ton and hello Nora, First of all we are not the gouvernment who builds the roads. We are only tax payer wiht the hope to get e better road on day - but not so far :-( We remeber you. The one with the old mountain bike who claimed he needs the bikes in front of his bunglow. For that you drove through the resort and placed your ugly bikes right in front of the terrasse. You are the one ignored other guests since you thought you bike is the most important. And when we told you to bring it up to the parking area you insist to keep it there. We had to call the manager until you were willing to bring it to the parking area. Which is by the way 24 hrs observed even with cctv! Lets say very rarely do we have such selfish guests like you. And, we are happy about your bad review since your not really our type of guests. So we hope other read that so we can avoid. And by the way. If you do not like high class service and attentive staff you shoud not book a high class resort like our
Great for quiet destination getaway. ”
Small resort on a cliff above a good snorkeling site. Good quality food and attentive staff. Very quiet and relaxing. Best to come and stay. Do not count on diving as they require a minimum number of divers to go out on the boat. You will need a scooter to go anywhere away from the resort and brave the bumpy roads. 20 minutes to town, half of that unpaved. Public transport does not like to take you to this resort on the tricycle so bear that in mind coming and going. Bungalows very comfortable, outdoor bathroom/shower.

Pieni, rauhallinen ja todella siisti. Palvelu todella ystävällistä ja asiantuntevaa. Ihanat näkymät merelle, allas puhdas, suihku löytyy altaan vierestä ja snorklailemaan pääsi helposti, vain kävelemällä rappuset alas. Omistaja pariskunta todella ystävällisiä ja kohteliaita, neuvoja sai aina tarvittaessa. Ruoka maukasta, vaihtoehtoja riittävästi, eikä tarvinnut pelätä saavansa vatsatautia. Aivan ihan paikka! Toivottavasti ensi vuonna pääsemme uudestaan.

Spectacular views and super friendly staff!”
We stayed here in early September 2018, originally for only 2 nights however extended our stay for a further 2 nights due to the wonderful staff! We travelled as a group and were looking for somewhere with a nice view, snorkelling and pool facilities - and this place ticked all the boxes. It is a little off the beaten track, however the staff bend over backwards to ensure that you have a wonderful stay and that you are well looked after. Nightly cocktail specials and set menu’s were well received. They catered especially for the vegetarian in the group, coming up with 3 course set menu’s each night. We only left due to the super typhoon which was headed to the area. Providing a refillable water bottle is a nice touch and ensures we look after the environment.

Amazing location”
Incredibly relaxing and a beautiful setting. The view is amazing and the ocean at the bottom of the stairs is great for swimming and scuba. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are large and clean. Great outdoor bathroom. The dinner menu changes daily and all food was fresh. You don't really need to leave this location, but it is quite isolated, so know that all bars, restaurants and other beaches are a 15-20 minute moto ride away.

Peaceful resort with excellent diving!”
We loved our 5 nights at Kawayan Holiday Resort. It's a very peaceful resort, on the cliff overlooking their house reef. Great sunsets to be enjoyed from the infinity pool (with bar). The staff are excellent, very attentive and good humoured. Jan and Cherry kept us entertained in the evenings! The food was great, with a different menu every evening. We did a SCUBA pool refresher and 7 dives with Joey, an excellent instructor and dive guide - thanks! Great life and colour on all the dives; we saw several sea turtles, lionfish, sea snakes, frogfish, triggerfish etc.. The dive boat is real luxury and they also have a newer boat under construction. Cherisa had fresh fruit and drinks ready when we came up the steps after each dive. The resort is to be commended for going plastic bottle free, refillable bottles provided. Our flight to Siquijor was cancelled at the last minute and the resort organised a chartered flight from Cebu, with van transfer on arrival. Highly recommended!

Friendly local staff”
If your idea of a vacation is to be confronted by a hostile owner at 6:30am on the morning of checkout then I recommend paying a visit. If you’re of the opinion that 30k + pesos over four nights are better spent elsewhere then there are plenty of other options. It is unfortunate as the local staff and his wife/partner were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had dinner the previous night at a neighbouring resort during which time the scooter helmets were locked into a shop at closing time (tricycles can not get to the resort) - we had already informed the resort reception to retrieve them the following morning and have them sent back as no one had access in the evening. The owner confronted me on the front lawn as I was resolving the issue on the phone with an aggressive demeanour stating that we are not checking out until the helmets are back, or we pay for them. Not so much the issue of having to pay but the aggressive manner in which he approached, which told us something was very wrong. As we walked out he placed the payment machine in front of us without offering any assistance to resolve the issue. This resulted in an unpleasant verbal exchange which is not the way anyone would want to end their stay. Having read previous reviews it would seem this is not the first time, and expect nothing less than a patronising response. Apologies are always welcome though I suspect too much pride to have to overcome.

Thank you Titus from New Zealand. Thank you for blaming others for your own mistakes. Let's stay with the truth! As far as we know, the resort has let you rent a motorcycle with two helmets. Only a motorcycle without helmets came back from that! And clearly dear Titus from New Zealand, the resort or the owner is responsible for what you did wrong - logically. Especially if the guests want to leave without paying the lost / forgotten helmets, as it is written in the lease. Nobody wants guests to distribute the resort's inventory on the island and then blame the hotel for it - that's the last thing! Think about it. Maybe you think also about yout last sentence: "Apologies are always welcome though I suspect too much pride to have to overcome". And as we know, Titus was the only one who was aggressive and loud. Just to make that right!
A nice Quiet pleasant getaway”
The owners Silva and Katherine were fantastic hosts. The staff were very friendly and very attentive. I thought the food was very good and was pleasantly surprised. Just ordered the special every day. Im reluctant to tell others as I dont want the place to be overbooked so as to prevent my return. Very lovely quiet place.

A quaint little resort on top of a cliff”
Pros: Rooms are big and spacious. Peaceful surroundings. A place to stay if you want to be isolated from the rest of the island and still be able to access the restaurants and nearby attractions. Breakfast was good and satisfying. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Bathroom is big and nicely designed except that the faucet doesnt fit the small sink. They should have just opted for one nice big sink instead of two. I like that they give us our own water bottles. Cons: they took a while to. Open the gate for. Us to enter the first day. Despite the cameras around no one was probably watching. They should install a bell. No shuttle service. Owners were not friendly. Overpriced tours. Quite remote given that you have to go through a barrio to get there.
