Beachfront room with amazing view ”

We ware traveling in the low season (beginning of June), so the price of the hotel was very reasonable. The room facility is more than average. I would recommend the sea view beachfront room, best when you are on the ground floor, so you can access the beach from your front door. Overall we love the place. One thing, we accidentally booked an extra night in which we were not able to stay. We asked the hotel kindly to at least, get half price voucher to spend in the hotel, but the manage did not approved to give us refund or any voucher even though Agoda tried to contacted her/him before. The front staff only said ‘the room is already cheap. So no refund’. We do understand about the non refund policy but we think they could have put more afford and showed more empathy to guests.

Great new hotel right on the beach”

This is a great hotel right on the beach with best snorkeling on the island. The rooms are new and well presented. Big pool. We spent a day looking at sifferent hotels and this is a best hotel on the island for the price!

Stunning Location, great hotel.”

Totally loved our stay, Modern, clean rooms, large bathroom. Parts of the hotel are still under construction, reception area & carpark, but this did not impact on our stay in any way. The pool is beautiful, however unusable during the day due to no shade. Not that was needed to sit by the pool with such a beautiful beach, the reason we stayed. Reception were extremely helpful in changing our non-changeable booking due to the cyclone, for this we are really thankful & really appreciate their help.

Nice new property near the beach”

3 central 3-storey buildings look like hostel but are very nice inside, very, very clean, spacious and comfortable. The only con is absence of good ventilation in the toilet which is virtually part of the room, lol. NB: swimming pool is under construction so it may be noisy during day near their restaraunt (restaraunt is very nice with good service).

Amazing spot on the beach - we saw fantastic sunsets and incredible thunder and lightning storms. Our room was lovely and modern with a fantastic shower. We found a little shop nearby where you can buy cheaper drinks - don't buy a mask/snorkel there as it filled up with water immediately! Kind staff, the papaya salad was definitely the restaurant highlight. Would stay again, especially once the construction of the pool is finished! Thanks.:)

Best beach on the island”

Its a very good location on the best beach. It has a wonderful view over Koh Ma, where you can walk over. The rooms a very modern, the design very nice and it was a comfortable stay. We had a very good sleep here.

Great digs & location.”

Laid back part of Pha Ngan, good for families. Relaxing, good beach & activity, walking distance to a couple good attractions. Lots of restaurants, 360 views, beach, Sea, & Can rent bike or cab for Chaloklum seafood or BBQ @ Holy Grill.

The sea view villa was beautiful, but the staff unfriendly”

What to say: the sea view villa first row was just beautiful. But the staff was generally unfriendly. They never explain anything. Pool opening hours, Tipps or breakfast - there was no information provided. When asking I always got the feeling that they were bothered. I once rented a car which the hotel organized. It was late more than 1.5 hours. The swimming pool is nice, but the sun beds are not so comfy. By the sea there where no sun beds at all. The restaurant: Don’t go there. Worst Thai food I had ever (and I traveled 6 weeks...) I am sorry to criticize so harshly, but I just think that all these points could be changed easily and I just didn’t feel very welcomed during my stay.

Very relaxed location! ”

This is the best hotel we stayed in so far. Amazing beach (best one on the island).. Very private feeling and not too many companies around.. Just a nice restaurant and nice beach-massage. I really recommend this hotel. We stayed in deluxe-room. The cheapest room was in the reception-building.. Far from the beach.. Recommend the deluxe option. Pool is not finished yet. But the beach is anyway so close :)

Don’t stay here (until they complete construction)”

The staff was great. Food was good. Location was great, although a little isolated. BUT, they are currently under construction! They are in the middle of building a pool, and multiple adjacent structures. The construction was obnoxious. They were grinding metal, welding, nailing, etc. only two steps from us during breakfast and lunch! This construction ruined our meals and made it difficult to enjoy our stay. 100% don’t stay here until the pool and other construction is complete.

Don’t waste your money”

First off I called the resort from the boat and she would send us transportation. which I was very pleasantly surprised. Until I got the the desk and she added 300baht for transportation. The place is kind of a mess all around, and definitely don’t get the standard room, is not even close to the beach or look like any of the pictures. The price does not include breakfast. The staff is more focused on getting as much money out of you and not focused on the experience of the people there. The restaurant on the beach is nice, the waiter was very personable funny and a pleasure to talk with and the calamari was amazing. But I think you could go to the restaraunt without going to the hotel.. If you want to go to mai beach I would suggest riding a scooter there and spending a day on the beach and eat at the restaraunt. Just dont stay at this hotel.

Loved Koh Ma Beach Resort - Want to go back right now!”

The resort was under renovation when we visited but we didn't hear a sound from the construction work. We stayed in a Sea View villa and it was luxury! I still can't get over how luxurious it was for the price. We didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment on that but we found a really good bar called Roots within a few mins walk which served fantastic food & drinks. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and I really look forward to returning.

Best snorkling site we’ve found ”

Best snorkelling around koh ma, the little island right outside the hotel. All the snorkeling tour boats come to this site. You can stay at the hotel, rent snorkel gear next door and spend the day in the water. Hotel is clean, big rooms (stayed in standard king) - visit the 360 bar for stunning views half a kilometre away.

Great property, terrible staff”

The only thing that took away from this stay was the hotel staff. The property is clearly new, but it was obvious that zero effort went into training their employees. Any interaction our group had with the staff (not to mention every other guest at this resort) was negative. This included: not greeting us upon arrival; repeatedly asking for extra towel/water that we paid extra for; overcharging on taxi service; hassling us about transportation tickets in which we already paid for with no apology; inconsistent information given to us between different staff members; and the other horror stories for other guests. We all still had a great time. It was just unfortunate that something avoidable was a shadow on this experience.

If you are not going to the full moon party the location is perfect”

When we arrived the reception area was still under construction so we were a little worried, then we saw our room and it’s position on the beach wow! Amazing. The room was definitely 5 star the beach was lovely! And little areas close by were perfect for me being a vegan and a yoga teacher all is covered close by. So happy thank you 🙏

Anything but a 4 star resort”

Me and my boyfriend had chosen this resort for a little bit of luxury during our travels of Thailand. After a long ferry journey then 40 minutes taxi to the top of the island we arrived at the what they call resort to a building site right outside the reception. There was diggers pot holes everywhere live wires and men welding while having to walk past it was a complete health hazard to any guest staying. We proceeded to check in to be greeted by a rude man at reception when we pointed out the construction and the noise was told if we didn’t like it to go some where else and was continually laughed at. We asked to speak to a manager and apparently there wasn’t one available onsite for over a week! After the long journey and taxi we decided to stay as we just wanted to unpack settle in somewhere and unwind for a few days. We had to walk too and from our room via the construction site to get to reception or to exit the hotel which wasn’t well lit at night either and constantly smelt of sewage. The room when we got there was great bed was comfy shower was excellent and had a very modern design the room alone I would give 4 or even 5 stars also the pool area and view were brilliant! The so called “resort” has only one option onsite of where to eat and a beach bar during the day so how it has the title resort is beyond me. We ate at the restaurant that evening it was okay at most given it was a 4 star hotel and we ordered Thai food in Thailand it was below the standards we expected. The next evening we ordered room service due to the bad weather we had been out in all day the pizza and burger were both not cooked and clap cold when we sat to eat them. We rang and asked them to take it away and just refund us the money we had paid as it was the second bad experience with food we’d had they seemed reluctant to do so asking us to order something else very rudely and aggressively like that was our only option. Eventually they gave us our money back and was asked not to say a

OK hotel ”

I was lucky that I got a pretty good price. Even though, I must say that I am a bit disappointed. At the time, there was a lot of construction work going on. The pool was not even finished and sitting at ththe restaurant you could literally smell the construction work. The last night, new guests arrived and stayed in the rooms on my left and right. I noticed, that you can hear every single conversation from my room. Other than that, personal was very friendly and rooms were clean.

Probably the worst place on the island”

This place is horrible and the staff are even worst. It’s a building site so unless you get a beach villa there will be dust and unfinished rooms. Our room got flooded every time someone showered. They wouldn’t give us a new room and just put a towel on the floor. We asked them several times a day to clean our rooms. I think they did it once out of a 5 day stay. The reception staff are very rude and con you when you get them to order you a taxi. Charging 500thb per person for a 100thb journey. If you want to party this is not the place to stay. You will spend a fortune traveling. The restaurant is basic and you can get much cheaper round the corner. We had to keep asking for toilet roll went two days without. Forced to use the nose tissue. It was just ridiculous. Agoda should taken them off their books

Very Very disappointing”

There is some sort of a cover up as you check in to the Koh Mae Beach View resort. There is major construction going on. Over 100 rooms. The whole resort is a building site and the photos of the beach are out of date. There are no facilities and the wifi did not work. The room was not cleaned after my first night. No coathangers and no balcony furniture At more than 4,000 baht per night it is the biggest rip off on the island. And not even full moon. If this is an Agoda recommended hotel - goodbye Agoda.
