Simply heaven ”
The place is amazing, the staff are all very kind and friendly, like to help and always around. The view is breath taking, the room is big, comfortable and very clean. We were in our honeymoon and it definitely felt like it. The breakfast is very good and tasty and the menu for the rest of the day offers good food (a bit expensive but not too much). The transportation to the island and back was very easy and good. The only thing that you should know is that some of the rooms are on the cliff side and there are around 100 stairs to get to your room (and no other way). If you don’t want to spend too much money on food you should bring with you some snacks and alcohol. Definitely recommended place!

Quite Possibly The Most Beautiful Place On Planet Earth”
After 30 years, my wife and I joined our friends in returning to the Philippines with El Nido as our primary destination. We could not be more pleased with our choice of Matinloc Resort. The staff were very professional and super friendly. Special kudos to Cindy, Heidi, Mark, and Jamark for accommodating our needs and making our 30 year wait quite memorable. The daily breakfast was absolutely amazing. Lunch and dinner were exceptional. Service was outstanding and the facility was beyond my expectation. Best of all, I snorkeled right in front of the resort with quite possibly one of the healthiest coral reefs I've seen in Palawan. I even watch a sea turtle for 30 minutes as it didn't mind me. I must have seen tens of thousands of jacks schooling not far beyond the pier. I'll never forget my stay at Matinloc. The memory that the staff there gave me will last a life-time. Thank you. I'll be returning with my children soon.

Amazing Place!”
Loved every bit of our stay here. The boat to the island was safe and smooth. We had a room with beach and sea views in clean, gorgeous accommodations. We we're gifted a surprise for Christmas Eve dinner with a delicious buffet including lobster and grilled tenderloin amongst many other yummies and it was INCLUDED! Also there was live acoustic music and a free cultural dance celebration after dinner: Perfect night! Free kayaks and snorkels to a local beach, and great views, hiking and the food was memorable in a great way!

Beautiful Resort in a remote location”
We stayed at Matinloc resort for 3 nights, the resort is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by limestone cliffs, islands and absolutely stunning waters with awesome views. The design of the resort is also thoughtfully done, with an infinity pool facing the water, coconut trees, large dining area and rooms facing sea, mountain or garden view (depending on your pick). We stayed in the Mountain villa with sea view and it was absolutely beautiful. The room was very large, bathroom was enormous with decent spa and plenty of windows facing the greenery. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and buffet. The staff are excellent, very attentive and responsive to any concerns. As expected the food and tours are pricey given this is a remote resort, so be prepared, on the flip side the Island tours were smaller groups and we had more time and fun with our group. I would recommend this resort.

As close to perfect as you can get! ”
The Matinloc resort is a little piece of heaven on earth! We took a chance booking online and wasn’t sure what we were in store for. We were so excited when we arrived! The staff was so friendly, the location was absolutely perfect and the food was amazing. We did an island hopping tour (booked through the resort) and it was unbelievable! The lunch they served us on the tour was so delicious. The air conditioning in our room wasn’t working when we arrived and they resolved it immediately. The snorkeling just in front of their private beach was breathtaking. Everything about our stay was just perfect.

I was worried about this place after booking an then seeing the reviews so here's my positives and improvements. Positives Beach Villa - Amazing with an outstanding view, décor is excellent and was very clean with nice little extra's Food- Food was good not outstanding but good Staff - Excellent Beach - Clean well kept , calm waters with good snorkeling Spirit beer wine - None but you can bring your own ( I thought this was a plus) Improvements Drinks service on the beach with staff being proactive in offering drinks SPA - Hmmm this needs a lot of improvement, salt scrub felt like I was being sandpapered. If your aim is to use the spa a lot I would say this is not the place for you. I have seen a lot of negative reviews, yes the place is a little on the expensive side, but you are paying for the view the beach and piece and quite in an amazing environment, if you are expecting two season standards this is not the place for you. overall I thought this place was great.

We love our stay in Matinloc. Fishes and corals are just right in front of the hotel. Very good place to snorkel. The food and the staff in their restaurant are amazing. We also did a tour directly from Matinloc Resort, the lagoon tour was the best experience. Ronald our tour guide/ life guard really took care of us by going above and beyond. Amazing and exclusive”
Super helpful and lovely staff. Amazing rooms with fantastic attention to detail (even nespresso!). Gorgeous white sand beach with amazing snorkeling just out in front. Lovely infinity pool looking over the Bacuit islands. Beautiful kayaking to the sand bar and small beaches nearby. Forest garden setting with salt water pool and occasional monkey visits simply stunning. Amazing full option breakfast. Wonderful stay, everything was perfect.

Amazing Experience”
The resort is beautiful and relaxing. Comes equipped with an infinity pool and free amenities to use at your pleasure (kayaking and snorkeling equipment). The breakfast buffet is wonderful. The staff and customer service that they provide is superb. Especially to Mark, Arjay, and Harry, who made our stay a memorable one that we will cherish for a lifetime.

We feel so pampered during our stay here in Matinloc. Definitely a memorable stay with my husband. The front beach is quite rocky but perfect place for snorkeling as there are plenty of fishes around the beach. You can go to another secluded beach using a kayak in the resort which has a finer sand. Staff are friendly and courteous. Thank you so much

Exceptional and worth rembering”
It is a resort located in an island. The nights were peaceful, the beach is crystal clear and we were able to enjoy snorkeling and swimming with the fish. The beach is not that ideal for swimming because of the corals, but we were able to enjoy the island hopping and the beaches we visited were great. :) overall, it was an outstanding experience.

At first, you I’ll think that the rate is quite expensive. But once you are there and have experienced the island and resort itself, every single cent is worth it! The staff was very accommodating and hospitable. The food was superb! The activities were all fabulous!! Will definitely go back here! Thank you matinloc for a wonderful and unforgettable experience!

Our stay at this hotel was really pleasant! We booked a bungalow on the beach which was perfect to catch the sunrise every single morning. You don’t even have to get out of your bed to admire the view. Our room was incredibly big, well furnished and clean. I particularly really enjoyed the infinity pool with ocean view. Almost always empty so you get to have it for yourself! During our stay we got to use the free kayak to go explore around. We also snorkeled on the beach, it’s full of beautiful fishes and coral. We also paid for an hour massage at the spa which was way more expensive than in town so we where expecting to have an amazing time there but it was not really particularly good and my husband said it was too rough on the shoulders and woke up the next day with rash all over his body due to the oil. So I won’t really recommend it. The food at the restaurant is good and prices are reasonable. For breakfast they served a buffet with a lot of salty and sweet food, you will for sure find something you like! We of course enjoyed our stay there really much, however we had certain expectations regarding the level of service given by the personnel and were really disappointed. We also had to ask for anything we wanted, when coming at the restaurant we always had to call the server to get a menu even though they saw that we just arrived. There is 5 people at the little bungalow at the beach which contains the towel for the pool and the beach, they sit around looking at people. even though they see you using the chair at the beach or the pool, nobody proposed to give you a towel, you always have to ask for it! This shouldn’t be like this! But I will still recommend to stay here because we had a good experience there!

AMAZING!!”
We had 3 days there, even though the Tyfoon hit the area we still enjoyed the super friendly staff and its a great place to get to know people since it is a resort where you stay 24/7. If anything the chef could spice it up a little bit. Well recommended!!!

Such a beautiful place to stay. 1. Nice beach(not huge but good enough) 2. Crystal clear water 3. Awesome mountain in the back 4. Hidden beach nearby(5 minutes kayak distance). 5. Good island hopping package offered(not free but exclusive) 6. Staff are helpful and friendly(Jason, Iyan, Jonathon) Somethings to be improved: 1. There is no any alcohol sell, better inform guest in advance so we have time to buy and bring in our own 2. WIFI is not stable 3. Hiking Trail is broken
