Great relaxing holidays”
My wife and I have never been to a resort like this before. Usually we prefer bed & breakfast only as we like to explore islands we visit and usualy dine out. But I don't think that is a very good idea in Dominican Republic. Anyway, it is an all inclusive type of resort so food and drink is incuded in the price. There are 10 specialized restaurants but we haven't been in all of them. I've liked the most Capri, a mediteranian restaurant. Mexican and french were also nice but Italian was a disapointment. There are a lot of staff everywere that clean the property, serve food and drink, drive you around the resort in small golf like vehicles etc. Rooms are very spacious with nice confortable bed and a balcony. The worst experience was actually booking the room with Agoda. After I have booked and paid for the room, I got a booking confirmation from Agoda where it stated that brakfast is not included. As it should be all inclusive room I have immediately called agoda customer support to clarify this. First problem was that I almost didn't hear anything as their telephone lines seem to be very bad. Then the Agoda agent said that food and drink is not included and that "All inclusive" actually means that you have a hairdryer in the room and airconditioning etc. I swear I thought that guy was joking when he told me I can use hotel's pools with all inclusive room. He also told me I cannot cancel my reservation without cancelation fee. So I have written to agoda customer support explining my problem and called a couple more times but with same result everytime until finally my wife got a more experienced agent on the phone that clarified that their confirmation form is the same for all bookings and that our room actually was all inclusive, with food and drinks. So booking wasn't very pleasnt as we were allready on a trip exploring New York City so we lost quite some time as it took 3 days to clarify what "all inclusive" and "breakfast not included" means.
Room facilities not up to par!”
The most disappointing aspect was the room facilities. Phone worked sporadically, often could not contact the staff or other rooms, despite reporting this several times. No Wifi available in rooms, despite advertising that Wifi is available in Royal Master Suites. No privacy in Royal Master Suite for ablutions. Glass doors on toilet and shower. This might be fine for some, but not if you don't like being visible whilst showering and toileting!
Nothing but luxury”
The hotel has a good structure so enjoy it because the beach there is a little dirty and there are not many things to do outside it. Enjoy the tours (although very expensive), the hotel has a big tour desk wiith many operator options. Lunch in all restaurants are not good actually, but for sure the best one (for breakfast also) is Market Place.
