Entrance and downstairs lovely. Rooms a little dated.”
Location very good. Short and straight walk from the station. Turn left on exiting station and walk straight. Hotel is an unassuming entrance opposite Nandos. The facade of the building is lovely and old and you would not know it is a hotel...signage lowkey and you only really see windows and advertising of Marco Pierre White restaurant. Branding could be better. The lobby and reception area is lovely and what you expect of a four star. The rooms I picked a privilege room were not great. The floors and carpet up the stairs to 5th floor were in need of hoovering. The loft only goes as far as 4th floor. So if you have big bags be aware. The rooms are large but bathroom small. Staff are nice and especially the lady who dealt with breakfast. She is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and kitchen accommodate orders. It is ok for an overnight stay and location is central and near to station.
Been mercure lots of times. Always return ”
Central, nr absolutely everything e.g train station, shops. Take granddaughter for a treat. Xmas birthday.
Yes very good ”
Not sure about the Marco Pierre White restaurant .... New York Italian ?
Good level of service”
Travelling with a baby. Asked for a bigger room. A staff me never named Mitch was really helpful and organised it for us. Great people and good service
Good choice if you’re new to Leicester & wary of derelicts on the street”
I’m not a fan of Leicester itself but I had to go there. This hotel is in a nice old building if you like history like me. You can have a drink inside and there’s a small fitness center with 2 climbers, a rowing machine and bike. There’s 1 machine for weights. It’s conveniently located right by the train station, about a 3 minute walk, and surrounded by a variety of restos. It’s very close to the cathedral where Kind Richard III was reburied. Don’t expect much from reception, they’re not very warm to weary travelers but then you don’t interact with them much. The room itself is not flash but it is nice and cosy.
