Really great location in centre of Winchester, next door to the cathedral. Hotel parking fee worth the £15 for an overnighter. Liked the late checkout up to noon & could leave car parked up to 4 p m. Hotel clean warm & comfortable & loved the bathtub, not available in a lot of hotels. Would recommend this hotel & would certainly stay again, longer!

We did enjoy our stay, but our room was absolutely boiling with no air conditioning only a desk fan. Room was comfortable, albeit a bit dated. Breakfast was buffet style which was good.

We stayed at the Mercure Winchester Wessex Hotel for 2 nights in a Privelege room. The room was on the 2nd floor with fantastic views of the cathedral. It was bright and spacious with great facilities - slippers, dressing gown, bathroom toiletries, a warm shower, a comfy bed, coffee/tea making and still/sparkling water bottles provided each night. For exploring the city, it is extremely well located. The only downside is the parking cost as it's an extra £15 per night to park at the hotel, with it being right in the city centre.

Great location and everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay. Could argue the property looks a bit tired but not important unless you plan to spend much time in the room.
