Wonderful time in Taman Negara”
We have just returned from a wonderful 3 days 2 night stay at Mutiara Taman Negara. With all the activities that can be done there, it was hardly enough time to do all. Our trip from KL was ok. We took our own sweet time but kept in mind to reach the dock at least by 5pm. Which we did, with 5 minutes to spare. The boat ride to the resort was the beginning of our adventure, even if it was only a 5 minute ride. Upon reaching the dock on the resort side, we had our bags taken up to the reception area via pulley. Wonderful idea as we didn't have to lug our bags up the stairs. The check in process was smooth and while my husband did that, I headed to the activities counter just beside it. Ended up booking the Rapid Shooting + Orang Asli Village tour but wasn't able to book anything else as they were fully booked. We were however advised to do the canopy walkway by ourselves without the tour, which we did the very next morning. The Rapid Shooting and Orang Asli Village tour was also such a delight. Our guide, En Kamil, did an amazing job, explaining everything about the Batek people and how they lived. The Batek people were also very accommodating and friendly. We were happy to buy some souvenirs from their little hut. The Rapid Shooting portion of the tour had us all drenched and laughing all the way. So much fun! It's too bad we didn't have time to visit the waterfalls or do the night walk tour but hopefully we can come again. The resort itself is very well maintained. The chalets are nice and clean and the bathrooms surprisingly modern. The shower water pressure could be better, though. Toiletries are not provided, except for the shower foam so bring your own shampoo, toothbrush, etc. The landscaping is beautifully done and we spent quite some time exploring the flora around the chalets. Beware of the monkeys though, they can be a bit mischievous. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping was super efficient with our requests for extra soap and wat
Comfortable stay in the National park”
Had a wonderful stay in the chalet, opted for 4 singles for a group of us and came with one double and two singles. Room was a dorm style, but comfortable enough for a short term stay and reasonable for friends or a small family. Attached bathroom was clean, water heater was responsive and water pressure was good. Lighting was fair for nighttime, not too dim how some forest stays are, and didn’t have too much of a mosquito problem once you entered the room. They did provide mosquito coils as an option but we didn’t end up using them. Food was provided as part of a buffet, and had a fair amount of options and was quite good. Great value for money, recommended. Check out their packages through their website - occasionally they have better packaged deals that include activities. We took the hill trek, the rapids shooting and the boat to Lata Berkoh. Our guide Kamil was awesome, very informative and made all the difference to the trip!
Fantastic!!!!!!”
Fantastic resort on the edge of the National Forest. Chalets fine for couples or a large group. While the furniture is not the highest end, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and nice. But, our room could have used a lot more light. The staff were very friendly and knew our names and room number very quickly. The tours were amazing. The boat rides were particularly fun and we highly recommend taking all the excursions you have time for. The jungle trek and canopy walk tour is of a medium to difficult hike. Distance traveled is 7.5km and you climb to 350m so you should be in decent shape. Our guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. We purchased both the breakfast and dinner package and were very happy with both. Staying on the resort to eat was better than catching a water taxi to the small restaurants located on the other side of the river. Monkeys are everywhere and will steal your food if you leave your table or are not paying attention.
Could be spectacular with a little more attention to detail”
Overall we loved our 3-night stay. The location is fantastic, the canopy walkway and other activities are great, and the staff are very helpful. We had read that the cabins were looking tired but we did not find this to be the case, we were very happy with our cabin (106). There were however a few niggles that irritated us and could have been eliminated with more attention to detail (wrong details were on our check in form, substandard dish served at lunch which had to be sent back but was replaced quickly enough, and no TV service for the duration of our stay, though we were compensated for this). More attention to detail and this place could be fantastic: it is still good and we are happy to recommend staying here but don’t expect perfection.

Nice resort”
I think this is my 4th time staying here. The resort itself has been well maintained. The room could feel a bit dark even in the morning since it's made out of dark wood. I usually bring an extra string light to use when I need more light. Things on the other side of the river needs lots of improvements. This place mostly caters for tour groups so independent traveller like my family has to explore on our own to find the luggage drop area and parking. It's easier for me since this is not my first time but I can imagine how difficult it would be for first time travelers.
Dear Mohd, Thank you so much for your great review. We are delighted to hear that you had a positive experience with us at Mutiara Taman Negara. We will forward your comments to the relevant staff so they can continue to enhance the signage across the river. We hope you’ll visit us again soon! The Management Mutiara Taman Negara
