Basic Amenities and service ”
The location of the hotel is fantastic, walking distance to the Medina (old town) and the modern side of Marrakech. Hivernage is the Rich area and Novotel is probably one of the more affordable hotels in the area nestled around the likes of Sofitel, Hivernage Spa hotel & Nobu. I was impressed with the breakfast and the spread and wasn’t a problem at all being a vegetarian. Only downside there was the service as they keep bringing new dishes out and sometimes longer to refil so if you are lucky can get all the good and coffees can take forever to come once you’ve ordered. Need to keep reminding the staff. Reception staff were a mix. There was no shower gel, body lotion or shower cap provided in the room. When asked, luckily they brought some shower gel but was asked to get my own lotion & cap. Which I guess wasn’t to bad. One evening, I called for an extra towel and the older guy at the reception asked me to come down and get it from reception, so I had to go down at 7am to collect a towel. I suppose they don’t have any housekeeping service. These are small things that make it a 3 star. It bothered me as we spent 4 nights there. If it was a couple of nights, then not a problem. I would definitely go back there for the location & convenience. Lots of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance and the main square isn’t too far either. The people of Marrakech are very friendly, helpful and lovely to talk to. Even at markets, they weren’t too pushy. If you like something, be prepared to haggle, unless it’s fixed price.

Good hotel, worth the money, clean … but reception including the front desk manager needs a retraining on customer service, pretty rude service … all the others were great

As I expected that it provides a good standard of chain hotel. I’ve been staying in Novotel at different places, this hotel is a bit old, all is good except that the pillow is a little bit flat and only one for each guest, not like at most hotels provide two pillows for each. The breakfast is delicious.

spent a night at Novotel, in the morning asked Reception, if the breakfast is included and they suggested yes but you have to hurry as time ends at 11am but you can try. went to breakfast area and couple of waitresses approached and said sorry but the breakfast time is over. They asked what are you looking for anyway, So we said we need just a couple of coffees and couple of croissants, they said fine, have a seat we will bring you. They came with 2 coffees, croissants, cakes, biscuits and orange juices. We did not ask for all of that but thought they are so nice to bring us all that and were really grateful. When we were leaving they asked for the BILL... we were like wth? anyways we thought fine we needed breakfast but they asked for 260Dirhams which is like a proper main course and drinks meal price. Simply a SCAM, we paid the bill, left the hotel. Never again. TIP: Always make it clear in Marrakech, dont be impressed by the customer service like they dont want to rip you off
