Much more than I expected”
I’ll start with the staff!! OUTSTANDING! EXCEPTIONAL! The staff {**Mickalia**, **Mary Anna**, Tonya, & Chrystal} went above and beyond for me….and I’m a nobody!! I can’t remember the last time I felt so special! While the hotel is a little older than others on the strand, it was very very clean, stocked very well(I had the kitchen),very comfortable,and the absolutely best view I’ve ever had! My bed ,covers, and pillows were soooo soft and comfortable. Not one bug anywhere!! And the shower was hot, strong and powerful!! Heaven!! The pool was cold and clean and the beach was a few steps from the pool! All around the best vacation I’ve ever had at Myrtle Beach!!

Loved staying at the Ocean Plaza. Most of the staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and furnished with cookware and eating utensils which I didn’t find out til I had already bought everything 🤷♀️. Overall our stay was 10/10 would definitely recommend. Only thing i didn’t favor was there were no signs to let you know where to check in. Which is at their sister motel beside them (the Polynesian) and I saw/heard where a lot of people didn’t know about the $100 CASH deposit which you get back when you check out. Soo, make sure you have that. Hope you enjoy ur stay!

I work in the hotel industry so I kind of have a advantage of what to look for, and I must say I was impressed for the price. Needed just one night and this accommodated me very well. Great water pressure and amazing beds. Check in was easy and check out was even easier. There was a kitchenette provided in the room along with kitchenware. Enough towels to wash AND swim! we will definitely be back, hope next time I’m able to get a balcony room! Still had a great view of the beach from mine. lady at check in was lack luster but did the job professionally, different lady at check out gave a warm smile and wished me safe travels :) thanks for everything ocean plaza!
Great staff and clean but the shower was problematic”
The hotel and room were tidy and simple. Everything smelled fresh and was in great condition except for the shower. It was supposed to be a handicap accessible room and it offered wide doorways, plenty of clearance to get around the room however the shower was a regular tub with a hole cut in the side and the area around the tub wasn't updated to accommodate this resulting in a massive amount of water spilling out of the tub when taking a shower (even with the curtain closed, as it just went under the curtain onto the floor) this resulted in a large portion of the floor having standing water and the water flowed under the tub resulting in a very spongy floor under the shower, where you would either be standing or have a wheelchair placed. There was obvious warping and damage to the walls and base of the tub indicating this has been going on for a while. I would consider other accommodations if you have a disability with mobility issues as I didn't find it safe as an able-bodied person (we were just placed in the room, we didn't choose handicap accessible). Otherwise it was a great room and simple motel with very friendly and helpful staff.

Room was somewhat clean I guess for the price per night didn’t expect much, the “ocean view” was a parking lot, lady at the front desk was nice, not a lot of parking, outside pool was a biohazard, indoor pool was freezing but hot tubs were working. Location was the best thing about it.
