Ocean View Room”
Our room are facing the ocean. nice room and clean. Price room include breakfast. Breakfast quite ok but need to improve. We arrived quite late around 6pm, since Feb still monsoon season expected a big waves upon arrival. and when we arrived we being served with welcome drinks. The reception is nice to us giving all the information. They change our towels everyday and u can request to change bed cover to. They have a they own private beach and u can access to another part of island by walking 15 minutes. Nice beach and water so blue and clean. U can even snokerling in front of the hotel with beautiful coral view. Very2 suitable for family and couples who one a private vacation. Snokerling cost u about rm45 - rm60. Renting Snokerling rm10 per day. Kayak rm30 per hours. Boat taxi rate between rm5 - rm20 perpax. After 8pm price will be double. The only disappointed moment that we had is when we take a boat taxi to small island and when we arrived everything were closed. So don’t go to small island when monsoon season. The local said u can go there end of March until end of July. I had a good time there with my wife. Han & Vika 🇲🇾🇷🇺
Relaxing stay”
We stayed for 5 days at PIR. Staff are pleasant. We booked a room with ocean view, at the beach front. Breakfast is included daily, food buffet spread and tastes good. A la carte menu has generous serving size and is yummy. Housekeeping is ok. However for a few occasions I had to request for the towels and items which they didn’t replenish. Air condition could do better. It still felt warm during the day time, perhaps the days have been very hot. I needed to use the first aid box one day and requested for assistance. Hotel should improve their First Aid box and have staff better trained to provide assistance where required. There’s scuba diving, snorkeling and other sea sports activities which has separate operators but all worked well. PIR is located at a ‘private beach’ as it’s the only resort at this beach. Water is crystal clear. There’s water taxis available for booking by the beach. Can just snorkel at the beach. We saw a baby stingray, grey tip shark (not dangerous) & if you snorkel further out, you’ll find sea turtles. You can also book airport transfer with the hotel. Just take note of ferry service time as only a few ferry trips are available. Overall would recommend this resort.
Beautiful Beach”
The beach is gorgeous, the facilities are being maintained continually, the restaurant is ok. The staff are seen working all the time, cleaning up the landscape, fixing lounge chairs on the beach, sweeping the sidewalks, and other necessary activities. It was a nice quiet stay. We did have a beachfront room. We got massages while there and felt great afterward. Our companions had a room away from the beach next to the lily pond where there were mosquitoes preventing taking advantage of the lovely porch space outside the room. The pool was closed for renovations but there were no signs of work having started yet. We were fortunate to see macro bats, dusky leaf monkeys, and a cabo (flying lemur).
Friendly and helpful staffs ”
It was a pleasant stay. Staffs are really friendly and helpful, not to mention that they are very flexible with the towel, beach cushions and snorkles rental. Hotel breakfasts were good and value for money, seeing the overrated price at the restaurants out there. Love the clean beach right in front of the hotel too! However, water heater wasn't working all the time (only worked for 1 shower out of a 3D2N stay). No water filling station available and you gotta purchase it at the vending machine.
Perhentian Island Resort: A Mixed Experience”
Our stay at Perhentian Island Resort was a mix of highs and lows. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the beautiful sea and pristine beach – perfect for a relaxing getaway. However, our unit was unfortunately blocked by an old boat and a mattress shed, which detracted from the otherwise stunning view. The unit itself was quite dated, with noticeable flooring defects and a bathroom that was not as clean as expected. Additionally, the advertisement mentioned a babysitter service, but when we inquired at reception, they seemed completely unaware of it, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the Ikan Bakar was excellent, though it is important to note that it is closed when it rains, which can be a letdown if the weather doesn't cooperate. Overall, while the natural beauty of the location is hard to beat, the accommodations and service left much to be desired.
