Relaxing”
After the madness of Bangkok I needed some rest so I booked the Sayok River House. Bad things first: I booked and paid for a double room and got a single room. The last night there was a storm and the bamboo hut was leaking in several places. WiFi signal was not great, there are several routers but they are not set up correctly. But I can't really complain because I got my money's worth. The place is in a beautiful jungle setting with a view on the river where elephants of the nearby elephant camp are bathing every afternoon. There's a swimming pool that I had to myself most of the time. The included breakfast is very good and served in the restaurant with river view. Staff are friendly, and they gave me a free ride to the railway station for my departure. Overall a pleasant stay and I would come back.

I liked the place. It is all outdoorsy and nature-y. Very calming. We stayed in the bamboo room which is super cute. There is only a bed, but that is enough for me. I enjoyed sitting in the sitting area outside the room. Very relaxing. My girlfriend, on the other hand, disliked the mosquitoes and the lack of air-conditioning. Note that this place is pretty out of the way. We rented a car so it wasn't an issue for us. If you drive here, the place is near the wampo viaduct. We got lucky and managed to see the train go by.

Best value ever”
This was my second stay here. Again I took the small bamboo hut which is basic but good, except when it rains. I love the sounds of nature, the beautiful river views completed with elephants every afternoon at 1:30 and the included breakfast with good coffee.

Jungle experience with a good restaurant”
I liked most the style of the bamboo bungalow, together with the noises of the night it was a nice experience, just like staying in the jungle :-) The ladies at the reception were completely helpful, even helping out with my next day pickup. Moto renting is possible at an average price, and is advisable to get to almost any other places around. Perfect price/value.

Nice location by the river”
Great resort a bit off the road with lots of trees and by the river. Nice working AC and comfy bed. Great option for breakfast, friendly staff. Well recommended.

Calm and charm”
Excellent location for those who can reach the area with a car. Bungalow of charm overlooking the curve of the river, small swimming pool available and elephants bathing opposite side when quitting the resort next morning. Appreciate particularly the verandah attache to the bedroom where we can order food or breakfast if we prefer to eat privately. Breakfast simple but acceptable for the price. The only thing we regret is that the payment could not be done with credit card on arrival as their machine was out of duty. Then we had to take car to reach next willage and withdraw the necessary cash, and we should have been advised in advance as we did phone to confirm our arrival about one hour before. Also, the staff should be trained in better english! Nevertheless we would consider returning.

Nice setting but accommodation tired”
The spot by the river is lovely but Saiyok itself lacks anything in terms of restaurants. There is a 7 Eleven and a local food stall but not much else. The room was clean but the shower wasn't hot, old system, and the room was tired looking.

Bon plan”
Excellent location giving on the river, but must be reached by car, because about 1 km from first village. Good value product, small swimming pool, roomy bengalows. Appreciate kettle with coffee sachets, however restaurant closing a little early. Regret that we were not able to pay with credit card as their machine was not working. This should have been advised before coming as no ATM around.

I recommend if you want to get away from the city crowds and just relax. It’s not a fancy place and to be honest the river looks filthy, but it peaceful there

Even though the description says restaurant, it has actually been closed for years. There is no transportation in the area, no motorbike rentals, no regular tuk-tuks. Without a car or motorcycle, it

Pay a bit more to get something better ”
This place was barely what you could call a hotel. A bed in a room but nothing else worked .. and red ants and dirty furniture to boot. Pay a bit more to get a place that has breakfast and some decent furnishings and upkeep.

Fantastic place with amazing view”
We loved the location, we looked out over the river and enjoyed a nice dinner with the river view. Amazing and quiet place.
