Great beach hotel”
We stayed here for 8 nights after a visit to Siem Reap to relax on a beach. The hotel was a little bit of paradise amongst a night of cranes!! We were given an upgrade by the hotel for no reason was done before we arrive. The food, especially breakfast was really good. It was nice to be able to eat the same menus from different restaurants. Our favourite was the Lemongrass which overlook the Ocean. Sihanoukville is not a wine destination anymore and unfortunately when ordering a glass or bottle which we liked the look off, the bar staff would be going from one venue to another to restock there bar whilst we were there. It's xtremely busy over the weekend so if you can stay during he week th better. The Spa is worth a visit , as very reasonably priced for a 4/5 star hotel. They a booked a ferry trip to one of the islands for us with no extra charged. A Tut Tut came and collected us on time and took us to the office to pay then onto the ferry terminal.I would stay there again.
Sokha EXPRESS”
I appreciated the 10.30 c/in as was not feeling great. The use of the Sokha Resort facilities was also worthwhile. As for the room - small & cramped : very dim lighting : no chair : no towel rail : no mirror in room : view non existent ( overlooking right of way ) : towels seemed to be similar to the beach/pool towels : I was also woken up on the 1st night at 23.30 hrs by a truck revving up - this lasted for about 30 minutes. One could argue that the above comments reflect the price of the room but It would take a very small investment to make a few basic improvements. Breakfast was very good and the staff were both friendly and helpful.
Not cool to pre-pay 200USD at check-in”
It appeared that the bathrooms were built in such a rush. We stay in the Express Sokha. The water runs all over the place, the toilet seemed misplaced - just a total dysfunctional bathroom. The staff were at times overly friendly. Because everything you buy at the resort was subjected to 5% service fee. My father-in-law and husband got sick from eating at the restaurants. The does not offer at least one-way airport services. We paid for a 4-person room and got, it appeared one of their smallest room. And lastly, the hotel makes the guest pre-paid 200USD at check-in as 'security deposit'. It sounds like the hotel has a 'trust issue'.

If you decide to stay at this hotel please don't choose Sokha express by the Sohka beach choose Sokha Beach. Sokha express apartments are dirty. The hallways on all floors was not hygentic and the walls on each floor were grubby. The hallways smelt. In each room the bathroom was very disappointing. The shower was just a shower hose hung from the wall and the shower was not separated from the rest of the bathroom. When you turned on the water in the shower all the floor go wet and the tiles were dangerously slippery. The service was terrible. We ordered 3 rooms for 6 of us all one of the rooms smelt badly of durian and we asked for two days to get the cleaners to clean the room. In the end they put two of us in another room and in the first 10 minutes of being there the pipe broke and the floor flooded. After two days the management gave us one room in the main building which is in sokha beach. We were a family of 6 and put in 3 different rooms spread throughout the compound. So bad
