Stayed for a night with friends as wwe were heading to airport the next day. Went in april so the weather was cool and st marks do not have air condtioning. We left our window open and it was perfect. Hot showers were great, spacious room. bed was simple and sufficient. Love how quiet and peaceful it is...no rowdy guests. location is better if you drive. pretty close to the airport and also town.
unfortunately had a dirty sheet on bed :(
Beautiful room and good location ”
I absolutely loved my room, it was stunning and clean. Randwick is very close to the CBD and the bus stop is a short walk away. the only thing that bothered me was that you only had 500mb free Wifi per day. I think these days free wifi without limited data should be normal.
Loved St Marks”
We loved St Marks. Anastasia was cheerful, helpful and able to answer questions about Sydney for us. The room was gorgeous. The bed was great - nice and firm as we like it. St marks is located five minutes from a bus stop and we were able to get a bus to anywhere in Sydney that we chose to go. The immediate neighbourhood was very upmarket and we enjoyed our early morning walks. There was an amazing array of cafes and restaurants all within a ten minute walk, plus a supermarket and shopping centre as well. This was good as it would have been impossible to prepare any cooked foods. However, there was a fridge in the room as well as crockery and cutlery. We had originally booked for our first three days in Sydney with the intention of scouting around for other accommodation. But after the first night, we extended our booking for our entire ten day holiday.
the woman in the front desk is very very rude. She makes face every single time i ask for something no matter how nice or polite i am. Weird for her to be in a hospitality industry. Book somewhere else, not this one.
Very good stay!!”
This was my first stay at a lodge which I had selected based on online reviews. And I was lucky enough that I got what I expected for. The room was clean and the staff at reception was very friendly. The location of the lodge is very good. Quiet street. I enjoyed my stay.
A quiet respite in Randwick”
Relaxed easy check in, and 2 nights good sleep in a very comfortable bed. The room had a large bathroom and had air conditioning or heating as desired. The room was bright and airy. A microwave and plates knives and forks also provided for one to self cater. The only lack was a small chest of drawers and a few coat hangers.
Quiet nice and clean lovely accommodation”
I really enjoyed my two weeks stay with st marks. It is located in a quiet street corner really residential area you get to see local families and even a glacé of the ocean. The room I stayed was a double standard with its own bathroom and toilet. It is on the ground floor and has three windows, plenty of light and fresh air. The bed was so comfortable and the table set at the corner just makes the room more cozy and family looking. They have lovely staff who are happy to offer you extra fresh towers and coffee and milk etc as cleaner only comes every second day. My little girl just turns three and with her jumping around the room may look a bit tight but really space wise it is quite enough to accommodate a couple comfortably and if a family of three like mine it is still quite manageable. The bathroom is tiny but every detail is well thought through, for example the shower cube is in very good condition that you don't need to worry about water leak through the bottom of the slide to everywhere of the bathroom. The only thing is they provide shampoo and hair conditioner and soup only if you don't want soup for your shower you better prepare your own shower gel.
A very comfortable stay. ”
Our stay at St. Marks Lodge was a very comfortable one. We only stayed one night but was perfect for our needs. This location was a quiet one and the staff were friendly. We would certainly stay here again.
Comfortable and quiet”
We enjoyed having plenty of space; the bed was reasonably comfortable and very clean, the facilities were excellent. Please note I have put "3" in food/dining as it was a required field - however we did NOT dine at the hotel and did not see the dining room.
Quiet and comfortable”
The Lodge is conveniently located in a quiet street. The room was a good size, was clean and comfortable. Self catering was a plus. The staff were friendly and helpful. We thought parking might be a problem but always managed to get a spot in the street close by.
Clean room, comfortable, friendly, great value”
Great! Excellent value for money. Anna was friendly and helpful. This is budget accomodation which people have obviously forgotten in the reviews I read before I stayed at St Marks. If they want 5 stars, pay for 5 stars!! St Marks is quiet, friendly, handy to the hospital beach and shops. Probably not one for a family with a heap of kids, but recommended for the single or couples, or people like me who had family in the hospital.
Clean, comfortable stay”
Stayed at St Mark's for 5 days while in Sydney. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm smile by a friendly member of the staff at the reception where we were handed our keys. The room was clean and serviced every two days during our stay, which we greatly appreciated. Even better,St Mark's is just a short drive away from the CBD and Darling Harbour, which made travel very convenient. Our stay was a very comfortable and enjoyable one.
Worth the price of admission”
Fantastic value so close to Bondi. Public transport nearby to take you anywhere in Sydney. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well kept. It was an older building but well maintained. If you want to explore Sydney on a budget, this is the place for you.
It is a good hotel to stay with value for money.”
It has a nice garden (front and back). Compare with fee, it is worth to stay. It is convenient to go to restaurants, shopping centre (Wool worth and Coles). Lovely Coogee beach is 10 minutes away and get to City about 20 minutes by bus. It is strongly recommended for the business traveler.
great hotel, good sized rooms, very clean, reception quite friendly and helpful, about 20 min from domestic airport, taxi fare, quite close to shops and restaurants and bus route, also about 20min walk to unsw, and racecourse, from here also about 20min to sydney cbd, in randwick area, neighbouring areas are coogee, near hospitals too
Perfect place for a budgeted travel”
everything in the description is true. the room is spacious. the bathroom is just nice although you need to add extra charge for the internet connection but other than that everything else is ok. 20mins travel from the airport, 10mins to the city.
friendly, helpful staff”
friendly, helpful staff, good accomodation - room was clean, tidy, close to UNSW, and also to the shops. a good $40 taxi fare from the airport. The lodge offers quiet and comfortable accommodation close to the Royal Randwick Shopping Centre and the famous Royal Randwick Racecourse. Perfect for visiting friends or relatives in the area, St Marks Lodge also makes for a warm and friendly place to stay while visiting the Prince of Wales Hospital.
Great hotel in a lovely location”
We really enjoyed staying here and thought it was great value for money. We didn't have our own transport so it was perfect as we hadn't far to walk from the bus and there was a nice pub with a beer garden and several good eating places to choose from. We'd particularly recommend The Book Shop, across the road from The Coach and Horses, which did great sandwiches and coffee and the 169, which had a good range of delicious food. Randwick was lovely, so nice and friendly and the staff at the hotel were very. Helpful. It was also great to be able to get our washing done in the laundry room. It would have been good if we could have bought washing powder onsite, but that's a very minor downside. Despite being handy. For transport and shops, it was lovely and quiet - we didn't hear any guests or traffic and it was in a pretty tree-lined street.
Very pleasant stay at St Marks. Lovely old building and very cheap rates for this close to the CBD. Single room was a bit small and the bed sagged so a mattress upgrade is overdue. I shouldn't have skimped on the single room - my colleague booked a double for not much more than my single and it was so much more spacious than my room. Lots of restaurants nearby and Coogee Bay just down the road. Handy to Fox Studios Entertainment Quarter and Hordern Pavilion so a great option for visiting Sydney for a concert or a course at AFTRS as we were doing. Nothing fancy but attention to detail was noticeable. Rooms made up every second night. I can recommend without hesitation but be prepared for a tired or lopsided matress. Hopefully they can afford to buy some new ones soon.
